2024

Last year’s Pride Month started with an announcement made by Roxy on June 6th. Here, we wished the members of ACP a happy Pride Month and gave support to those who needed it.

Besides this, we also asked those who are part of the LGBTQ+ Community to reach out with their experiences. Since we included those in a Pride Post to help others figure out their identity and sexuality. You can find the post by clicking this!

Just 3 days after this, on June 9th, we held an AUSIA event in which we paraded around CPAB to celebrate pride and explore the map. This was done regarding the decorations that were added for Pride Month.

On June 15th, we held our CPA Pride Parade. Here we invited all armies, such as the Help Force & Rebel Penguin Federation. Additionally, a lot of individuals from various armies joined us to celebrate Pride together.

2023

In 2023, our month started with a war between the Blue Sunset Alliance (Elite Guardians of Club Penguin, Water Vikings & Rebel Penguin Federation) and the Sapphire Concordat (Templars, SWAT, People’s Imperial Confederation & Napalm Corps). Here we fought against the Blue Sunset Alliance, which made our month busy with less time to prepare.

Even though there was a war going on, we still took the time to log on together with the rest of CPA to celebrate. This was held on June 10th during UK timings. Here, armies had split up into different colors so we could make the Pride flag in-game.

2022

In 2022, there was not a lot going on regarding Pride. Despite this, there was a small announcement made to wish the army a happy Pride Month!

2021

In 2021, Pride was celebrated through various activities. There was a whole week dedicated to celebrating with those who are a part of the Pride community. In May, the plans were released through a post that included the many activities planned. Click here to read the post!

The month itself started with Max wishing everyone a happy Pride. This included a link with information about what Pride is and how it is celebrated, so people can explore it more if they want to.

On June 2nd, the first event was hosted. This was called ‘Rainbow Extravaganza‘. Here we gathered a total of 30 troops online. Many were wearing different colors, which made it extremely colorful and fun to watch.

On Thursday, June 3rd, there were multiple other activities that troops would be able to join. This included a ‘Gay Anthems‘ music listening party and a Drag Race hosted by Koloway. Next to this, the troops had the ability to choose their movie for the LGBTQ+ Film Night.

The day after, on June 4th, a parade was held to demonstrate our diversity. This was added to let everyone feel loved and accepted for who they are, as it is okay to be different! Additionally, the ACP Staff & Reporters released a post about why Pride Month is important to them. Read it by clicking this link!

The last activity included a Pride Parade for the entire army community. This was the first Pride Parade ever hosted. Here, we united the army community and showed our support.

Lastly, the month ended with a few Pride facts shared by Max. This shows how the world viewed LGBTQ+ people back in 2021, which is different from how it is now. Despite the progress being made in the world, it is still not accepted everywhere.

2020

Now, we have gone back 5 years in time. During this time, the pandemic took place. We took our time to celebrate Pride. This started with a small announcement from Funky.

This year, we hosted a Pride Parade as well. It took place on June 9th. This happened during UK times. Here we celebrated Pride together in our colorful outfits.

On June 26th, Mchappy released a post regarding coming out and the people who have not been accepted due to their identity and/or sexuality. To show support to those who need it, that they are valid. Here, many members shared their experiences and showed support. Read more in this post!

And this is how ACP has celebrated Pride throughout the years. Despite not every year having the same number of activities being hosted, we still try to make everyone feel included and safe. This happens through the various activities that take place every year. Now, let us move on to the members we have interviewed about how they celebrate Pride.

How do you celebrate Pride?

Yeeter: I just sing “Born this way” by Lady Gaga while drawing pride meeps and penguins, since I’m a Christian.

Anonymous: Well, I usually never celebrated pride, but I do congratulate my LGBTQ friends, as I believe people from LGBTQ are really good & nice well although it sounds vague, but every person from that community is kind hearted and really nice, from who i’ve met so far, in addition to that they are also very funny.

Cheska: Well, I usually celebrate Pride through events.. like in school. I’m one of the main speakers and we have it to speak up/give awareness about it to other places and people. And I also make yearly blogs about Pride Month in general. 💜

Nefe: I celebrate pride in various ways, I would love to go to all the parades and celebrations, but my current finances don’t allow it. So this year my pride is celebrated by allowing myself to experience queer joy and pursue a future that will allow for even more of it. This year I worked on saving money and getting my life prepared to move into a new place where I’ll be free to transition and be as gay as I want. I also celebrate by educating myself on the struggles queer people of the past have lived and what they have done to fight for the rights I have today. I celebrate by spending time with my found family. I celebrate by engaging with people in my community, resetting my mind to know that I’m not alone, that no matter who or where you are you have a family of millions waiting to back you up as a queer individual, that even though we all have our differences and disagreements we are one under the family crest that is a rainbow of unity and acceptance. I celebrate by being a safe space for others, like so many in this community have been for me when I was first struggling to accept myself. And as pride ends, I’ll be continuing to try to emulate the spirit of pride, not necessarily the parties and the drinking, but more so the unity and love that it reminds us of every year. Happy Pride <3

Thank you to the members who took part in this! We could not have done this without you. Make sure to remember, you are not alone, and deserve to receive support. Do not forget to let us know how YOU celebrate down below in the comments.
