Trick or Treat Trials Commences

Addressed to the Army of Club Penguin

BLIZZARD, Shamrock Bulletin HQ  Hey ACP! The Trick or Treat Tournament has finally commenced. Over the weekend, we saw six armies take to the battlefield in the qualifier round in order to advance to the Finals. Continue reading to find out more about the tournament and who advanced to the finals!

What Are The Trick Or Treat Trials

To celebrate Halloween, the Club Penguin Armies organization announced that they would be holding a mini-tournament, named Trick or Treat Trials. This was organized in order to fill the absence of the regular tournament Fright or Fight. With the announcement of the tournament, its start date was also released, alongside the date for the finals. The qualifier round was announced for Saturday, October 21st at 3pm EST with the finals set to take place just one week later. Six armies eventually announced their participation in the tournament. These armies were the Army of Club Penguin, Templars, Special Weapons & Tactics, Penguins of Madagascar, Elite Guardians and Help Force.

Qualifier Round

On October 21st, the participating armies geared up to fight each other in order to claim a position in the finals. The tournament was a 30-minute battle, although, it was different from a typical battle. During the battle, two different rooms were announced simultaneously, one was a trick room and the other was a Treat. The Treat rooms were typical battle rooms with armies facing each other to try and win the room in a battle. The trick rooms, however, included a twist. In the Trick rooms, extra points were given to an army for completing a specific task given by Judges, on top of the points earned by battling.

Point Distribution

Trick Rooms:

If an army won a room, they were awarded three points. However, if a tie occurred, the armies involved would be given two points. Additionally, three points were given to each and every army which managed to complete the task given. Thus making it possible for an army to earn a total of 5 points from a trick room. However, this wasn’t always going to be the case. A trick task could also include the condition that the first army to perform the trick was given points for completing it. This meant that the points weren’t guaranteed if an army completed the task. If an army was alone in a room, they would automatically gain 5 points.

Treat Rooms:

Three points were given to the army who won the battle in a room. One point was given to all participating armies. 5 points were automatically given to an army if they were alone in the room.

Results

Trick Rooms:

In Room 1 (Snow Forts), Penguins of Madagascar, Army of CP, Special Weapons, Elite Guardians, and Templars all headed towards the Trick Room. This room was a tie between the Clovers and Guardians battle-wise, whereas, all armies except Guardians managed to complete the task of having no formations throughout the round, thus earning 3 points, with both Clovers and Guardians earning 2 points for a tie, battle-wise.

Trick Room 1

In Room 2 (Inside Mine), SWAT and TCP moved to the Treat Room, leaving only ACP, EGCP and POM in the room. This was again a tie between the Clovers and Guardians battle-wise. Only one army was able to claim the three points, as the task was a competition of Cart Surfer. This was won by a POM leader, thus getting them an extra three points, with Clovers and Guardians earning 2 points for a tie, battle-wise.

Trick Room 2

In Room 3 (Docks), all armies except the Help Force were found to be present in the Trick Room. This room was, once again, a tie between Clovers and Guardians battle-wise. The task for this room was to say “BOO” whenever the judges used the emote E9. This was completed by each of the armies except Templars, thus earning each army other than TCP 3 points. The Clovers and Guardians earned 2 points for a tie battle-wise.

Trick Room 3

Treat Rooms:

In Room 1 (Dojo), Help Force was the only army which participated in the Treat Room, thus they earned five points.

Treat Room 1

In Room 2 (Iceberg), Templars and SWAT joined Help Force in the Treat Room, however, their efforts were not enough to beat the Helpers, who managed to earn 3 points from the win, +1 for participating.

Treat Room 2

In Room 3 (Forest), Help Force was again the only army which participated in the Treat Room, thus they once again earned five points.

Treat Room 3

The Help Force managed to top the table, earning 13 points, whereas the Army of Club Penguin managed to seal the final spot for the finals, with 12 points. The Elite Guardians and Penguin of Madagascar tied at 9 points. The Special Weapons placed below them, with 7 points, while Templars claimed the last spot with 5 points. This means that the Help Force and Army of Club Penguin will advance to the finals.

When Is The Final Round?

The final battle will take place on the 28th of October at 3pm EST. It will be held between the Help Force and the Army of Club Penguin. However, unlike the qualifier round, it will be a normal 30-minute battle with 3 rooms and no tricks. But who will come out on top? We wish the best of luck for both the armies participating!

That concludes our recap of CPA’s qualifier round for the Trick or Treat Trials!
