Mammoth, Shamrock Bulletin HQ – On December 20th, 2022, war was officially declared on Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) by the Circus Alliance, a group composed of the Dark Vikings, Templars of Club Penguin, and Army of Club Penguin, along with aid from our beloved allies, Help Force. But overall, what led up to this point? What’s the history between ACP and the current public enemy SWAT?
Original Army Records
According to old army records, the first mention of SWAT interaction was on January 30th, 2011, in an article posted by former leader Mchappy2. It detailed the liberation of Mammoth from SWAT, ACP’s long-standing capital. A statement at the bottom of the page reads, “Hopefully SWAT will finally leave us alone, I doubt it, but this battle just proved that we are better than them.” Although this was the first documented mention of SWAT, it alludes to prior rivalry with the army.
In November of 2011, SWAT attempted to invade and overtake Mammoth from ACP. Twenty minutes into the battle, ACP successfully warded off SWAT, with an admitted surrender from a Commander General. On the 28th, Mchappy2 wrote, “As you know SWAT you have recently invaded our server Mammoth; you did not win, but you had the taste of revenge on your lips.”
The next reported run-in with SWAT was ACP’s unfortunate loss of the 2012 Champions Cup final battle. By this point, ACP and SWAT were established as enemies. Just ten days later, on April 11th, ACP declared war on SWAT and the Blue Miners Army with the assistance of the Nachos. On April 21st and May 6th, ACP once again defended Mammoth from the invaders. Following soon after, ACP declared war for the second time with only a week-long interval.
Throughout May of 2012, ACP had vicious battles with SWAT, garnering support from other Club Penguin armies and finally ending the war fourteen days after it began. ACP ended up gaining two new servers, Great White and Wind Chill. However, this wasn’t the end of ACP’s problems with the army.
In March of 2013, war with SWAT once again broke out, the day of the Commander General elections. ACP managed to keep their hold on Mammoth, but sadly lost Snow Globe. Two days later, they invaded SWAT’s server Fog. Soon after, a treaty ended the war with SWAT.
The next declaration of war on SWAT wasn’t until November 13th, 2013, with the event “Operation Rolling Thunder.” It ended on November 17th. Soon after, ACP defeated SWAT in the Christmas Cup Tournament.
Unfortunately, that’s as far as documents of old history go between ACP and SWAT. Throughout the early years, the two armies had nothing but fighting between them, creating a strong rivalry that carried on and on. So, where does that leave us today?
Recent History
After the revival of the Club Penguin armies, including the Army of Club Penguin, new alliances and bonds were made, some unbreakable and others short-lived. However, due to distrust and over a decade-long conflict, ACP and SWAT remained at arms-length.
The first official battle documented between the two armies in the new era was in October of 2020, when ACP won over SWAT with a score of 3-0. Two months later, in December, ACP declared war on SWAT after the SWAT army expressed violence and made false claims toward ACP.
A post was made in December by CSY, a former leader of ACP, which retaliated in response to SWAT’s awful behavior. He wrote, “The ACP-SWAT rivalry has been on for generations; there is a fundamental difference between ‘against ACP’, ‘rivals of ACP’, and vivid imagery of 100 ways to murder an ACP troop.” ACP and SWAT’s issues only seemed to worsen as the actions of SWAT grew immoral and out of hand.
ACP managed to successfully invade multiple servers of SWAT’s, as well as fight off SWAT’s attempts to take back their lost land. ACP ended up winning 7-0-0, effectively ending the war.
Despite the years of conflict, 49th Commander-in-Chief Calgocubs21 wanted to give every army a chance once the responsibility of ACP was passed to him. SWAT made a proposal to change the relationship between ACP and SWAT, and on September 19th, 2022, it was agreed upon. However, ACP set boundaries regarding their close ally Help Force, which were not followed by SWAT. This led to tensions between the armies.
When a scandal regarding SWAT’s leaders came to light, along with allegations of horrible behavior — toward not only fellow soldiers, but what were supposed to be their allies — a few armies decided they’d had enough. This sparked the Circus Alliance, which formally declared war on the Special Weapons and Tactics army on December 20th, 2022, and will have their first battle Thursday, December 22nd.
The intervention was a long time coming, and ACP has banded together the best of the best to put an end to the horrible actions of people within the Club Penguin army community. With over a decade of conflict, rivalry, and hostility under their belt, the two armies have had something to settle since early 2011, and with the help of the Circus Alliance, ACP will finally enact their plan of vengeance.
Good luck, troops.
