Taking Sides

Reminder: DO NOT use the IW’s .com site link!  They lost the domain to a bad site again.

Leaders: http://acparmyofclubpenguin.wordpress.com/2009/12/07/join-page-schedule/ Join page schedule official copy

Update: In response to Icey, the reason we are neutral is to CONTINUE the war, not end it, because we are at least twice the size of everyone else, and wars need to be balanced.  ACP alone is larger than the entire turnout of the Orange Alliance by almost two fold, and thrice for IW.  Whichever side we join would then have a significant advantage, therefore we will leave you to your war in the hopes it won’t be over right away.

Fox : I have a suggestion. What if only one division went to war with IW, like Delta did or something, or Alpha or whatever? And we could split Delta, Alpha, and Echo into branches of divisions so we had Kappa or whatever the other 3 were, because seriously ACP can’t get into any wars whatsoever anymore and I am bored out of my mind…. Boomer we at least need to get into the habit of weekly practices again, one every Saturday, because with Christmas break coming up we’ll have a lot of days off from school and we can do more patrols and such, so it’d be nice to use that time to improve formations and squares and such.

Boomer’s Edit: That is a possibility, although I would prefer not to go to war on our closest ally, as much as I disagree with their actions.  We will probably wait and see how things turnout before deciding any further.

Iceyfeet, the Leader of the Ice Warriors, has declared war on 6 armies, 3 of which are good allies of ours (GW, WW, and HSA).  This situation has been going on since IW decided to invade a bunch of HSA’s servers for no good reason, including Half Pipe, which is also owned by WW, GW, and the Tacos (the reason so many armies are involved).  While ACP will not go to war with IW, we do not in any way support the behavior of the Ice Warriors.

The last time something like this happened, it was the Nachos earlier in the year when their size made them unstoppable to any army other than ACP, and they used their size to cause quite a few wars with a lot of the smaller armies with little reason.  IW is in a similar situation, being larger than most of their opponents, however as the Orange Alliance proved yesterday, IW is beatable.  The team of WW, GW, and Tacos numbered close to 30, defeating only about 15 IW soldiers and a handful of Nachos.  At this time, I am not sure whether the Nachos will be helping IW or not, and frankly I would be surprised if they signed up to help an army who has invaded a handful of their allies for no reason.  Should be interesting to see how this plays out.

Klug’s big day!

One year. Wow. Its been a year since i joined. I remember it clearly. I had been following the ACP site for a month. Oddly enough, i had been an ACP hater until about 2 weeks before i joined. Heres the semi short version of the story. I discovered ACP and UMA through youtube around summer 2007. Naturally, you would have thought idve joined one of these armies. But no, i decided i would be much better off if i made my own army to terrorize the large armies of Club Penguin. What did i name this army? The Club Penguin Terrorists. Anyway, that army failed. Me and my friend Anchor Lad, still intent on starting an army, made an unofficial army on Parka. This army had about 10 people at its high point, and died off within a month due to the fact that all the soldiers removed me from their friend list. So i went back to being your average CP noob, and a few months later, Anchor Lad and i  decided to make a new army. This army had about 20 soldiers that eagerly helped us capture the Pizza Parlor and held  it from numerous Club Penguin agents. I forget what their called rofl. Anway, this army also died due to soldiers avoiding us, for whatever reason. We did have a war with some other guys army though, so it wasnt a complete waste of time :D . My armies never got to fight ACP or UMA, which we wouldve been pwned by. Anway, i left my nooby friends on CP to make Club Penguin Music Videos, which are popular on youtube. Around the end of October 2008, going into November, while i was waddling around Parka, being a noob, i discovered some heavily armored penguins training at the Snow Forts. I asked who they were. They told me they were the Shadow Troops, and i became an unofficial member of the ST for about a month. They said that ACP was evil. This fueled my previous nooby hatred towards ACP, but i started looking at their site, and i discovered that they werent so bad. About 2 weeks before i joined, i decided that i would join so if i became leader, i could destroy ACP. I would like to say that these events occured over a year ago, and are not the reason im in ACP, for those of you who jump to conclusions. These are thoughts i had as a noob. Eventually, i just decided i wanted to be a part of ACP and i joined. December 7, 2008. Z.O.M.G.

If i were ever to say the most influental event that ive ever seen in ACP so far, i would have to choose The Great Confusion. This started to bring my out of my noob days. It was my first real major war i had seen in ACP, and i finally discovered that CP armies werent all nice and fun. There are some mean people in CP armies. I remember The Great Confusion very clearly. I remember the night that it was discovered RPF was trying to hack the ACP site, ACP declaring war on RPF, Commando being impeached for exacty 1 hour, the painstakingly long meeting of The Alliance that Boomer left chat to attend while we all tried to calm down, that ended up in just about all armies declaring war on ACP. I remember ACP Chat being hacked, soldiers having to find their way to the ACP Congress chat only to learn that they had to get on CP to fight off endless waves of armies. That was the most confusing 2 days of my CP armies career, and Person definetly put it best at naming it “The Great Confusion”.

I would like to thank the following people for helping me stay in ACP and for helping me get to where i am today.

Commando993 and the ST i met on Parka: You guys are the reason i started looking at the ACP site, and the base of why i joined this army. Thank you.

Boomer 20: Dude, if you werent leader, i might not even have joined. Even as a noob, i could tell that you knew how to lead an army. I also appreciate you for giving me my early promos lol.

Packer: Your probably the best friend ive made in ACP. You rock. Your stories inspired me to write mine and compete with you. We had so many great PC’s. I would love talking to you on chat if you ever come to visit, and hopefully i can catch you on facebook if were on at the same time.

Dry: I might have retired months ago if it wasnt for him. I was on the verge of giving up and retiring. You talked me out of it. I appreciate you for that, and i feel i never got a chance to properly thank you.

Blueh: Apparently we joined on the same day. We both broke the mod line together. We were both in Echo Brigade. We are bonded for life >D. The MCP was an achievement far beyond that we ever imagined when we started to make it, even though it was around for about a month.

las: Funny, funny guy. Another person i started MCP with. Your a great leader, and your Irish :O. You remember how many (goo) symbols were involved during the planning of MCP? Lol, thats what you get for going on ACP chat on a summer day.

All Echo Brigade Soldiers: Echo Brigade rocked. I dont know why. Echo Brigade wasnt the strongest brigade, we werent the biggest, but we felt a certain pride in being in Echo. As far as i know, me, Blueh, Snowballpink, Chapa, and a few others are the lone remaining survivors of Echo Brigade. Long live Echo Brigade.

Clint and Thebest: You guys were the best Echo Brigade leaders ever. You guys rock :o

Enn: Weve been friends for a long time. Before i was a mod. I remember one of the biggest thrills of becoming a mod for me was that you couldnt kick me for having a Red Sox symbol as my icon anymore xD.

Anyone i may have forgotten: Rawr.

Boomer: Monsterfully has decided to stay with us!

Hello, you may be wondering why I’m retiring here’s the reason:
Today, Snowballpink broke up with me, and if I see her on chat, I’ll just break apart, I don’t want to break apart, I’m sorry Snow for whatever I’ve done to you. Here is the people I would like to thank:
Oagalthorp: If it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t have confidence in myself and still be a noob on the streets, thank you for making this army for noobs to become mature soldiers in this army.
Boomer20: My first major army leader since April 1st, 2009. You’re a great person to look under, thank you for being such a good leader.
Dryvit: You supported me from time to time, thank you.
Packer1Nfl: Meh buddeh! Never really see you on, but we’re still buddehs! Thx dude!
Matre10: You’re so awesomez! Have a successful life! Good luck with being ACPTR leader!
Sorry I missed some people, but most importantly:
Snowballpink: I love you, and I understand thank you for sticking up for me, I appreciate it.
I would be here for 1 year on April 1st, 2010, but I guess that won’t happen.
Bye my friends,
-Mike/Monsterfully

Practice Session #1 Review

The practice session was EPIC!  Our so chat was over 60 the entire time maxing out at 66, and we had 2 chat rooms.  On Club Penguin we had at least 50 in each room throughout the battle with close to 80 on the server at the peak!  We really did excellent moving and charging from room to room and staying together!  Here are the pics:

We started off at the Snow Forts, where we had over 50 in the room:

We got into two lines, one at the top and one at the bottom, and had both charge at the same time, setting up a devastating joke bomb:

We quickly regrouped and repeated it, this time with a clover bomb:

We then regrouped into an impressive circle in about 20 seconds right after a charge, a bit tighter than usual, but over 60 soldiers strong:

From the previous charge to the circle charge, it only took about a minute as we closed down the circle on the would-be doomed army:

We moved to the Ice Rink, where we made another nice circle with 55 soldiers:

Closing down the circle for a massive joke bomb:

We then marched to the Plaza, which we packed with over 50 soldiers:

Charging into the Stage with 50 soldiers:

Back to the Plaza with 50 soldiers:

A nice square around the pool with close to 55 soldiers:

A solid clovers bomb:

We filled up the entire Mine with nearly 60 soldiers!  This is the definition picture for spreading out:

The Boiler Room used to be one of the major battle locations for ACP in Oagal’s era, but this room wasn’t built for this ACP unit of nearly 55:

Up into the Dance Club with close to 50:

We charged out into the Town:

Then we marched from the Town to the Beach, which we packed with over 50:

Into the Ski Village with close to 50:

An awesome circle around the Iceberg with over 50 soldiers:

We then headed back to the Town for some recruiting:

And finally ended the practice with some recruiting at the Gift Shop:

Here’s a pic from chat.  We were 3rd largest with 66 people!

My experiences being locked out of the main chat room of ACP chat o_e

Great job guys!  The practice was amazing!  You should all be very proud of what we have accomplished.  We will continue to work to get better though, because just being good is never enough!

Comment if you made it!

Practice Session #2

Click HERE to choose what we do tomorrow!

Everyone who attended the practice session yesterday MUST comment HERE to get credit towards a promotion.

By the time this is posted, we will have finished our practice session covering Charging and Regroup (click HERE for tips).  Since the focus of that practice was in one location, I am scheduling another practice where we will practice similar things while moving around a server.  We will practice charging into rooms as a unit and spreading out while charging once we get there.  Here is the info:

When: Saturday, December 5, 2009

Where: Snow Fort Snow Forts

Chat: ACP Chat

Times:

12:00 pm PST

1:00 pm MST

2:00 pm CST

3:00 pm EST

8:00 pm U.K.

Executing Charges Across a Server

  • Stay alert at all times, if we are moving rooms, you need to be ready to follow.  There is not much point to moving around if we will be leaving soldiers behind us everywhere we go.
  • Keep an eye on chat, it is really important that you know when we are moving.
  • I will give a command (probably with a 3 second countdown), for example “All ACP to the Plaza”.  As soon as you see this, repeat what I said on Club Penguin, and move as a group to the next room.
  • As soon as you enter the new room, you need to spread out.  Remember what we practiced about finding an open space.  We are large enough that we should be able to fill an entire room as long as we don’t stand on top of each other.  If there is a white space in the room, I want it filled by a green penguin.  You should always be looking to fill a more open space.
  • DO NOT group around me.  If there is one thing you can do that is more damaging to ACP than anything else, it is stand around/on top of me.  People need to see me and my commands at all times and if you are covering up me and my commands, ACP stands little chance in a real battle.  Don’t be the soldier I call out in my next post for doing this.
  • Once we have regrouped in the room, I will give the command to charge somewhere.  The charge could be within the same room, or into another room.  Listen for the command on chat first.
  • Repeat the regrouping and charging steps in as many rooms as needed.

Hopefully these tips are helpful, and comment if you can make it!

How to Organize a Tournament

I noticed a recent post on the IW site about how CPA Central scheduled an end of year tournament in which ACP and IW faced each other in the first round.  Agreeing with IW, yes, that sounds like a fail.  That means one of the top two armies will be eliminated in the first round…

Here is how you organize a tournament.  A typical tournament is organized by some sort of rank.  The Top 10 Army list seems like a good ranking system.  In a tournament (take the NCAA Men’s Basketball tournament for example), the top ranked team plays the lowest ranked team, the second highest ranked team plays the second lowest ranked team and so on.  If the tournament consists of the Top 8 armies, it would look something like this:

#1 plays #8

#2 plays #7

#3 plays #6

#4 plays #5

If we were to organize this by the current Top 8, our tournament would look like this:

Round 1

Bracket 1

ACP (1) vs. UMA (8)

Nachos (3) vs. Tacos (6)

Bracket 2

IW (2) vs. FW (7)

HSA (4) vs. GW (5)

Assuming that the higher ranked army won in every battle, Round 2 would look like this:

Round 2

ACP (1) vs. Nachos (3)

IW (2) vs.  HSA (4)

The Finals would then look like this:

Finals

ACP (1) vs. IW (2)

Doesn’t it make sense for the Top 2 armies to meet in the Finals?  That seems like a better plan to me.

Note: This is how we will organize the Christmas Tournment.  Don’t worry about who won what battles here, this was an example.  It is perfectly possible for a 6th ranked army to upset a 3rd ranked army, etc.  It should be a lot of fun.  Hope this helps future tournament-schedulers.
