BLIZZARD, Shamrock Bulletin Headquarters – Welcome to another edition of the Shamrock Bulletin column, Staff Scrutiny, where Lieutenant General ToxicMeow will be grilling some of our brightest and very best staff members for satirical purposes only, of course! Keep reading to see how our Coordinator Snowy fared!
What does your job as a coordinator entail? How did you get into this role?
To keep it simple, I track attendance at events, keep track of divisional promos and elite clover troops, help log tasks that mods complete, and other random things here and there. Funny enough, I never wanted to be staff in ACP, but I was asked if I could help out with attendance by two past leaders, Coolguy (Karius) and Austin, and my role as coordinator has continued to grow since!
What is something you wish other staff/troops would know or understand better about your job?
The biggest thing I want others to know is that I’m never intentionally ignoring someone if they are trying to talk to me in-game or on Discord during events. Attendance can be very demanding, and most of the time I can’t pay attention to conversations and attendance at the same time. I would also like to take this opportunity to remind everyone of the importance of logging recruits and activations ASAP, or else 🙂
If you could switch jobs with any of the other coordinators who would you switch with?
I actually don’t think I would switch with another coordinator. We have all perfected our methods, so learning someone else’s job would just be inefficient. I also think my job fits me the best out of all the current coordinator jobs.
Is being a COD player required for this role?
We actually tried to make playing Call of Duty a requirement for being a coordinator, but were sadly told no. I’m just kidding! Everyone is welcome to join the coordinator team even if they’ve never touched a CoD title in their life.
If you could change one thing about the ACP, what would it be and why?
I would love to see ACP be able to relax from time to time. Focus more on fun rather than needing to constantly prove we’re the biggest and the best. Especially because everyone already knows that by now. I would also personally like to see more flexibility and permissions given to higher-ranking mods. Give them opportunities to better prepare for if/when they become HCOM!
What is your favorite and least favorite part of your job?
My favorite thing about my job is that I get to make people feel included. I love to see people get excited about elite clover troop, divisional promos, earning the attendance shamrock stamps, and earning their corporal promotions! I even get to see people I remember attending their very first events make it all the way to HCOM! I’d say my least favorite thing is how long it takes CPJ to verify pnumbers names. Remembering pnumber names is a bit more difficult than real usernames. Almost as difficult as trying to track down unlogged troops mid-event.
Have you ever come close to leaving the ACP? What stopped you?
There have definitely been a few times I almost left ACP, and for various reasons. Even though I’m not one to frequent main chat, the amazing community is always what stopped me from leaving. I have also received a lot of support and encouragement from leaders, past and present.
If you were gone for a week and had to make someone do your job for the time being, who would you like to take over?
Well, I once had to go on a forced leave due to technical issues and came back to a lot more work and things that needed to be re-logged because someone else took over, so this question scares me to think about. I would probably trust basically any HCOM or leader to take over things that need to be done consistently, like taking attendance or logging mod tasks, but most things would be ok, just very piled up, if they went unlogged for a week.
If another army leader tried to hire you, how would you deal with the situation?
Considering that ACP keeps all its staff chained up, I would probably have to politely decline.
What’s the most challenging thing you’ve had to overcome as staff?
One of the most challenging things I had to overcome was completely adapting my attendance-taking methods to better fit CPJ events.
If ACP became a lawless place for a day, what would be your first crime?
Well, obviously, it would be the perfect time to completely overthrow the current leadership, change everyone’s names to Snowy, choose all new leadership, and give the Army of Snowys its long-overdue and well-deserved takeover.
If you could choose someone from ACP who made an impression on you and the way you carry yourself as staff, who would that be?
There have been so many people in ACP who have inspired me through kindness and work ethic. There are also so many people who have reached out to me just to chat or get to know me better, which always puts a smile on my face. The person I always have to give the biggest shoutout to is my fellow coordinator, Rarity! She handled attendance for a long time before me and was the best mentor while I learned the ropes.
An army of Snowy doesn’t sound bad since we’ll be starting with the best two of them!
💜Well done! You’ve passed the Staff Scrutiny! Thanks for taking part, Snowy!💜
