the end of an era – roxy’s retirement

2 years, 4 months and 5 days.

This will be the last time I, Roxy, will address you as the 52nd Commander in Chief.

In my journey as a leader, 2 years is a lot of history to cover. (On a side note, I wish I could stay committed to relationships like I am with ACP). Building this army from a small size- in terms of our stance in tournaments and wars, to where it is right now took a ton of hard work which I am immensely proud of. Most people recognize me as a constant leader, but very few within the army remember my journey through the ranks, or the losses we had to endure to reach here.

Journey through the ranks

My journey in ACP began on October 10th, 2020. I shall not go into details of my retirement post on January 29th, 2022. (If you decide to read it, I humbly request you to NOT let me know). Fast forward to December 2023/January 2024 where I began taking an interest in ACP again, during the leadership of Coolguy and AustinFraud, and quickly climbed through the ranks, with Austin retired shortly before I made my return in the ranks.

During my time as staff, I had the opportunity to work with wonderful people- namely Cheska and Breadpan– who made my time memorable. Being AUSIA, we automatically bonded, to the point I had the privilege of serving as an AUSIA Commander starting when I was still 4ic.

However, my main determination behind pushing towards the top was simply that ACP felt foreign- the Golden Democratic Era was my true home. I never expected myself to reach the top-most rank as my main motive was to make sure ACP was a better place for all. Receiving that DM from CSY asking if I was interested in leadership came as a total shock- the one that I rejected initially.

Signing up for the position definitely came with its fair share of anxiety. However, if I were given the opportunity to change anything about my leadership, I wouldn’t change a single thing. Every success and every setback gave me a chance to learn and do better. (Well.. maybe except CSY teasing me right after I changed my mind- you’re EVIL).

the early days of my leadership

The start of my leadership was rough, with the morale of the army being low due to our loss of the war against Water Vikings. In all honesty, that war was a turning point to understand where our army was lacking and how we can improve. I got promoted right before the Legends Cup tournament, expecting to face the armies in the tournament headstrong. However, we lost during the semi-finals against TCP, only to be declared war on by EGCP right after.

We all know the results of the 100-battle war (Fine Kolo, you win the naming argument. I can’t even spell Centenary Solstice anyway) by now, a victory for the Army of Club Penguin. To put it into perspective, facing a hard loss for a war declared by us, followed by the loss of the Legends Cup and getting declared war on by an army strong in our weakest timezone was rough to say the least. Arguably ACP’s currently strongest division – US, was non-existent at that time due to Ugly and me being AUSIA/UK based. However, the dedication shown by my co-leader at that time, and the constant mockery from EGCP fueled my energy to turn the tide.

Initially, the war was rough with AUSIA being dominated by us, and US being dominated by EGCP, the UK being the make-or-break division. However, by the end of the war we were able to summon our old friends from the Golden Democratic Era to help us, leading to a victory. The most memorable moment during the war was definitely when we managed to scare EGCP in their strongest division by summoning our Vets through the distribution of the BMA – Baddest Mf Alive (shoutout to Chek for this idea). The EGCP war is a testament to the dedication showcased by the Army of Club Penguin – no matter the circumstance, we will rise from the ashes.

Scaring EGCP in their own timezone

With the return of our old friends – Daniel, Kailey, Chkn, Tia, Robot and Cubster – we were able to dominate the next tournament (Project Conquest), overcome its hurdles, emerge victorious, and scare away the most famous point in CPA – the September Drop. A major change that took place is the re-establishment of the US division under the divisional commanders – Daniel and Kailey. I even had the privilege of breaking the record of highest number of graduates due to ACPTR being reopened after a long break.

2024 was a year filled with ups and downs, and there are many people who made it memorable that I might miss out on a few simply because it’s been so long. Still, I would like to name a few people: Noa (who had been around for the majority of my leadership), Lia (I’ve never seen someone as dedicated as her), Pumpkin & Hanaa. It came with hurdles, which we collectively tackled as a team, moving forward to my era as a solo leader in 2025.

two heads, one army

The start of the year was followed by the DCP war, during my solo leadership era. You can read more into it in the United Front post. The starting note of the year was victorious! The best decision of my entire leadership was promoting Daniel to Commander-in-Chief, and breaking multiple records together.

More than focusing on our achievements, I’d like to shed light on the events that helped us reach the position we are in right now. People like to remember the victories and happy moments, but forget to recognize the moments and losses that shaped us to work towards the victories.

Our first target was the March Madness X, where we even lost in the third-place battle against the Doritos. Losing to the Doritos fueled our anger for the next tournament. It surely helped us win against the Doritos in ATWC II by SWEEPING them. The loss in ATWC II was heartbreaking due to us tying three rooms and losing the last one, leading to a loss against Aliens. How can we tie 3 rooms and lose the last one?! Our next target was Legends Cup XV, where we faced Help Force in the Quarterfinals. However, the results were even more demotivating, taking another major hit to our morale. We thought the Legends Cup was a wake-up call and decided to declare war on the Aliens. However, our judgment was wrong in taking on an opponent bigger than us. But that’s okay, despite the losses we decided to move on. The next tournament being the October Horrors tournament, we lost again. The finals were a three-way battle against the Aliens and WV, only for it to be a sweep by Aliens, though we took second place. It is worthy to note that we did win the Summer Olympics in CPA, as well as the Ragnarock Olympics against WV. Last but not least, our eyes were on Christmas Chaos. The back-to-back losses fueled our anger more than ever, with the trophy slipping from our fingers in the Semi-Finals against RPF. The battle was incredibly close, and truly demotivating considering how close we came to winning.

Do you see the amount of losses we had to take in order to reach the position we are in? The amount of respect I hold for my co-leader, Daniel, for sticking around with me and changing the army for the better, both internally and externally- is immense. We see eye-to-eye, and even when we don’t agree on everything, our morals and motives are always aligned: thank the people around us, stay humble, and make ACP the best version of itself.

This year, 2026, started on a victorious note. We won the war against SR & Aliens. But our real hunger for the taste of victory was showcased during March Madness XI, where we maxed 129 and finally won the tournament of clovers for the first time. Massive shoutout to Misaki for helping with the formation pics for our bot! We decided to spice things up in the community around April with the declaration of war on the Templars, with a victory yet again due to them constantly hiding away. From then, the seeds of victory revealed themselves with us securing the Legends Cup trophy, maxing 142 along the way, followed by the October Horrors II trophy. This year was remarkable, with us breaking records which we thought could never be possible, breaking our highest max record and maxing 217 for our anniversary. Not to mention, we have been dominating in the Top Ten by securing #1 for the majority of the year, all thanks to your attendance. Huge shoutout to our HCOM team and staff for making all of this possible. There are too many people to thank, but if you were part of the ranks in ACP, YOU played a huge role in my journey. All that is left this year is to secure the Christmas Chaos trophy, where I expect to see ALL of you there.

CLOSING THE CHAPTER

I am extremely grateful to the people who placed their trust in me and supported me throughout their journey. There are too many people to mention over my 2-year journey in ACP, so please don’t be offended if you don’t find your name here- you definitely made an impact on my journey. It is a privilege to build one of the greatest legacies in CPA history, especially as a female. I take pride in representing the army as a female, as well as part of the pride community (by hosting a couple of community parades). Special shoutout to Mchappy for making me recognize female empowerment and pushing me to work toward the same. Honorable mention to the senate for being my biggest support systems, Daniel for being the best co-leader I could ever ask for, and the HCOM team I worked with during my tenure for trusting our planning process. Thank you to all the staff members who worked under my leadership for being willing to appreciate the change and work toward the betterment, and the troops for being the reason we bring changes. We want ACP to be the best community, a home for you, and I really hope I made you feel like the same.

For those who fear me leaving, don’t worry I assure you the future generations of ACP will continue the legacy that was crafted. If you still can’t process it, think of it as a leave which never ends, ok?

Signing off for one last time, as your commander
