Welcome back to a new edition of Penguin Vogue after a couple of months away. This is the column where we interview our fellow members about their uniforms and the meanings and stories behind each item they wear! Today, we’re interviewing ACP Field Marshal Queen Kay!
Hello Kay! Id love to do a quick rundown with you on your CPAB outfit! It really gives off diva vibes!
Hi there Nacho! Thank you so much! I took a while picking out things that were cute but also are important to my personality/who I am as a person.
Starting from the head, Kay spoke to us about why she wears The Twister (blonde hair):
I loooove wearing The Twister. Not only is it blonde (like me) but it’s also the hair style I wore in original Club Penguin for years!
On her face she uses the iconic White Diva Sunglasses:
I feel like my White Diva Sunglasses are kind of a staple for me at this point. I also wore them in original Club Penguin but every outfit I create I also implement them (to be honest, the normal penguin eyes freak me out so I have to cover them).
I completely agree, the normal penguin eyes are weird (they should never be seen).
Haha agreed. It’s the way they don’t blink and are kind of beady… just uncanny lol. And I’d use eyelashes because I genuinely think it helps but then it makes your penguin have a unibrow and I can’t make my diva have that.
Behind her back she wears the Scuba Tank:
So I spent a long time choosing between two backpacks and the Scuba Tank but ultimately I chose it because that is what I do for my job in real life! It’s just a little part of who I am on my penguin.
That is so cute, could you tell us a little bit about your job for the troops reading?
Of course! I work in the aquarium field with animals and frequently scuba dive their habitats. But I also professionally mermaid (advanced scuba diving basically) around the world in aquariums. I’m working on my Dive Master currently.
On her hands, Kay chose to use the Pink Electric Guitar:
I love that Pink Electric Guitar! I needed something to hold so I took the basic Black Electric Guitar we normally wear in our uniform and changed it to my favorite color- Pink! I think it ties in everything and compliments the green well. I also play guitar and love music so best of both worlds.
What type of music do you like?
I love any type of music! I can vibe to anything from bands like Ghost to Sabrina Carpenter to musical theater to Stevie Nicks.
On her feet, she wears the White Untied Sneakers:
I think the White Untied Sneakers are so clean. I really only wear white shoes in real life so I felt it was only right to do the same on my penguin! I like the level of detail they have as well compared to other white shoes and it just gives that “cool penguin” aesthetic.
To finish the look off, Kay accessorized with the Sunset Background and the White Puffle Pin.
Well I love so many backgrounds but I chose the Sunset Background because it reminds me of home near the coast. And the pin I chose is because white Puffles are my favorite and I wanted to pay homage to my baby, Mozzarella. I have a stuffie of him next to my computer and my mouse pad is even a collage of pictures of us!
To conclude, do you think everyone should customize their penguin and why?
I do! I think it’s not only fun but a way to add your own personal flare to the game. I love looking at other penguins outfits they come up with. I love to see all the creativity but also the pieces they choose that are personal touches for them.
