The Power in the Clover New

March. The month commonly associated with clovers.

Clovers, the plant commonly associated with luck.

The Army of Club Penguin, the clovers.

Despite that, we have never really been lucky in tournaments.

Despite the handful of trophies we won throughout our golden age, the big-name traditions only came to life towards the end of that era. Wars have always been our stomping grounds, but we usually fall short of silverware.

This HAS to change this year.

The stakes and chances have never been higher.

A March into Madness

March Madness is a tournament that has broken our hearts many times…
Each time we battle in it, it truly feels as if we are marching into madness.

This year is the eleventh edition, having been first introduced in 2013.

When it first began, the leader at the time, Kingfunks, would announce it as if it were any other Club Penguin Army Central (CPAC) tournament, but stating that:

We need to show armies that the ACP is out to be one of the best armies again and we will do everything we can to achieve this goal.

Signing off with his usual:
Power in the Clover

Swiftly passing through the first two rounds, we made it into the final four, headbutting with our rivals, the Nachos…

It is not often that I would say that, but victory tomorrow would show that the ACP is back again. We have shown signs and good weeks, but this will be THE signal that shows we are here to be the best in CP armies once again

And then, Saturday would arrive…

What became another story in this rivalry in what could have been the match-up in the finals if the bracket was set up differently, in the end however there could only be one and as ACP and the Nachos sizes equaled in numbers the battle was a pretty good one as 40+ sizes were reached by the two world powers. In the tactics department the Nachos edged it in a judge vote and consistency was given to the ACP leaving it a dead tie, the tie breaker rule was put into effect in the end and the results are the following.

Nachos victory.

Despite the loss, the leadership was proud of the effort – describing it as “extremely unlucky”.

The Nachos won in a “tie breaker” Judges decision and we were extremely unlucky.

The following year, we returned to the same tournament and reached the final. We did this with even higher levels of motivation.

Reaching even farther to face the same opponent…

The Army of Club Penguin vs. The Nachos, no rivalry has matched the intensity these two have had except for arguably the UMA and RPF wars. The Nachos are looking to be the back to back March Madness trophies and have the privilege to be the only army to win the March Madness tournaments as they beat the Ice Warriors for it in 2013. The Army of Club Penguin however, have other intentions.

CPAC March Madness Finals: Results

The tournament final was incredibly anticipated, where even Oagalthorp, years after retiring, gave his own aid.

I am Oagalthorp. Many of you might know me as the creator of the ACP and, by extension, the Club Penguin army community as a whole. You may also know that I don’t have much to do with armies anymore; I’m long retired, and only show up when the ACP is in dire need of assistance. Is the ACP in dire need of assistance at the moment? Of course not. You’ve reached the rank of #1 army and defended it for weeks–this army is stronger than it has been in quite some time. I’m here simply to help you maintain that position of power. The first step in ushering in the New ACP Golden Age is winning the CPA Central March Madness Tournament.

Championship Battle: ACP vs Nachos

The final was a fierce fight, reaching the 5th room, over time. This room would mean the battle lasted 45 minutes, testing both sides’ incredible endurance.

Sadly, the breaking news of the winner would also be the same…

With this, The Nachos win the battle with a 3-2 judge vote. ACP fought with honor but could not keep the push going as the Nachos brought in that final push to turn the tides.

Following both tournament exits, in our last two March Madness participations during the original Club Penguin days, we didn’t even make it out of the Final Four, losing to both Army Republic and Doritos.

Moving forward to 2021, when the world finally started to heal from the pandemic, we saw our first participation in this tournament after a long time.

Just the year before, we had suffered heartbreaking tournament losses. Premier League Final vs. RPF, lost. Fright or Fight Final vs. RPF, lost. Aces of AUSIA Final vs. HF, lost. Even though we didn’t know it back then, this would end up being our final chance for major silverware.

To prepare for it, then Commander-in-Chief CSY would launch Operation: We Rise From This.

ACP used to be the name of the dominant world power, a name of strength, valiance and respect

Somehow, we have now become the punching bag of the community, our highs dismissed as flukes, our lows magnified as a mockery of the past

Somehow, our intentions have been misconstrued time after time, false rhetorics painted to tarnish the very roots of the army – defending freedom and preserving justice

Somehow, our kindness have been taken as weakness, as the army that never retaliates, as the army that always blindly forgives

We have bowed down long enough, stayed silent, remained subservient. Yet, we have time after time proven that we are just as strong, just as good as everyone else.

This tournament would also begin something that many would clown us for: a massive call to arms. Many old veterans and people from around the community would join our ranks to make the push for the trophy.

Our hopes would rise exponentially, and so we entered the tournament head-on.

The first battle was against the Water Vikings, where we tied two rooms, but we ended up grabbing the only room victory and advanced to the semifinals.

In the semifinals, we were up against none other than the Rebel Penguin Federation. The only army that had gone undefeated in any battle throughout all of 2020.

We gave arguably the battle of our lives, and the judges called overtime, and then…

ACP loss.

We didn’t believe that was the correct call, though, so we called for a review.

28 hours later, the results had overturned, and we managed to beat the undefeated army and make history. It was not over.

After two incredibly tight rounds, with the semifinals vs. RPF having its results overturned and us advancing to the final, we were now up against another behemoth, the Ice Warriors. The task would be a daunting one, that was a given, but we were absolutely ready.

Many training events followed suit, as we prepared mentally and saw hype like no other.

The day of the final came, and 97 clovers put on their letterman jackets and were ready to fight, to give it their all on the battlefield.

Following 3 fantastic battle rooms, with both armies being brought to their absolute limits, an overtime room was announced.
The trophy was just 10 minutes away.

Losing meant not only losing time and effort, but also motivation. We needed to take this victory home.

Yet, once more, it managed to slip away from our hands.

What an injection of demotivation.

We did what we believed was impossible and made it to the finals, despite everything.
Next time, we win.

[March Madness] Finals vs. IW – Results!

That next time, never really came, and ironically, the clover tournament has never been in the hands of the clovers.

A lot of the time, I’ve found myself looking back, regret eating me up and thinking: what could we have done differently?

The reality is, nothing. We gave it our all, and the power of our own single dream took us incredibly far, but not far enough.

One thing I’ve learned, though, is that history, truly, does go in full circles.

Just last year, we got swept by RPF in the semifinals of the tenth edition of March Madness.

In Christmas Chaos, 2 months ago, we managed to take the rebels into overtime.

For the first tournament of 2026, we are looking to dethrone the current reigning champions of March Madness, RPF, who also went undefeated for the entirety of 2025.

When it comes to ourselves, though, we repeated the same story.
3 runner-up positions in 3 different tournaments in 2025.

My dear soldiers of the Democratic Republic of the Army of Club Penguin:

When will we be able to lift our fist high in victory?

When will we be allowed to run throughout the streets of Mammoth, chanting “victory in the name of ACP”?

When will March Madness, truly, be ours?

If you want the answers to these questions, then it’s time to work for them.

The start of 2026 has been an eventful one. We took our revenge against Aliens, standing up for what is right. We have taken back our capital, Mammoth. We have even achieved #1 on the Top Ten twice, while maintaining a steady #2 position.

Is this what we’re going to satisfy ourselves with, though?

NO!

The green machine is hungry for more. We want the title. We want glory.

Let this be the true beginning of an incredible year. The year when the Army of Club Penguin is once again respected as a major world power, that many following generations will continue to speak about.

Our highs won’t be dismissed as flukes, nor our failures magnified as a mockery of the past.

What is the power in the clover?

Is it really just luck?

No. It’s the power of a dream. A single green dream, which can take us far.

The Army of Club Penguin is ready to do whatever it takes to fight for that trophy and usher a new age.

Expect some incredible upcoming weeks, as we launch Operation: March of Madness and seek to earn the March Madness trophy. Not only because it’s the month of March, but because we are mad penguins marching on, who will do whatever it takes to get what they want.

We are mad enough to believe, and prove, that we can do anything.
Join me in this journey to make our 20th year the best one ever seen.

Marching into 20 years of history.
