Hey there ACP! Welcome to yet another post! This is not a usual column post, instead, it’s a post about our beloved Co-ordinators! I feel like they are not very well-known within ACP, and so I decided to make a post about it! (insert sob self react)

But, how well-known are the Co-ordinators actually? To answer that question, I asked the following question to some members in ACP:
What do you think the Coordinator role means to you?
Gugs: I’m thankful we have the coordinators we do, without them a lot of things we have to track or tasks we have to complete would be delayed. Our coordinators work very hard 🙂
Yeeter: The Coordinator role means to help in the sidelines yet has huge impact on it. Sometimes they help out on distributing roles, helping distribute the numbers and overseeing us mods n staff if we needed help
Ellz: Uhh….the person who manages coordination in a grp?
Likee…they would be in charge of keeping things coordinated
Help run things smoother
Pepsi Man: uh
i have no idea what the coordinator does
danny is cool tho i like danny
Soringel: Honestly nothing, like do these guys even do anything? Ive barely even seen them and when I do they just kinda chill in chat? I suppose they have a purpose but there isnt a glossary and nobody told me. I suppose they coordinate stuff, but what? Never seen them making or leading an event or having any position that has to do with coordination. Are they like doing some super important background coordination? If so very impressive, very demure, otherwise… useless? I dont wanna be mean but the more i think about it there more it seems like giving your smaller brother a controller that isnt connected so they feel usefull, but in actuality its all delusion and smoke. Im padding the word count a bit here and thats ok, I just want to ask whoever is publishing this to maybe write some paragraphs about what im even yapping about.
Thank you for your time, imma gonna ask main chat what a coordinator does, this statement will not change though and should be published per verbum
Ok i just asked and apparently they are bureaucrats in essence, so yikes, but thats ok cause they the good type. From what i gathered id call them record keepers or secretaries, actually id prefer admin, but since that got a kind of different meaning in a discord sense than in the institutional scenario i envision it lets put it in parentheses, and let me tell you these people are the real heros, i had recently some issues with bureocratical issues stemming from timezones, what do you think would happen if coordinators go on strike? Utter and absolute chaos, the downfall of civilisation as we know it. So imma take a minute in admiration. Ok done. Im thinking about pushing an coordinator appreciation day including parade. All in all the heros i didnt know existed, kinda though that workload would be shared by the staff, now arousing suspicion as for what those guys are even useful for, but alas we got some dedicated people doing important work that nobody else wants, but is a crucial cog in the clock that is ACP. A big shoutout to coordinators and may your excel sheets always format correctly.
Thank you, Gugs, Yeeter, Ellz, Pepsi Man, and Soringel, for your interviews!
However, what exactly does a Co-ordinator do? Well, they do mostly work behind the scenes! You don’t really see them much in main chat, so that’s probably why not many people know about them. So, to find out more, I interviewed our beloved Co-ordinators Rarity, Snowy, and Daniel!
When and how did you first become a coordinator?
Rarity: i started as a Brigadier General on 2/20/23 and had a hard time with the moderation. i wanted to help out acp and learned that there was a role that i could help out the staff team from behind the scenes. so i became a coordinator on 4/1/23 and started doing attendance for the army
Snowy: I became coordinator right at the beginning of 2024
Daniel: I actually became a co-ordinator the day when the role was first created. I was considered an unranked moderator before that, but then CSY, who was leader at the time, mentioned wanting to create a separate role for us and I agreed to that.
To give dates, I joined as a moderator for ACP in September 21st, 2020. Then, I became an unranked moderator in March 16th, 2021, which happened after having a talk with CSY about my moderation duties and other stuff. Then, the co-ordinator role was created in July 16th 2021, so I have been co-ordinator since then 🙂
What was your first impression of the other coordinators?
Rarity: belen was the only other coordinator with me when i joined and helped me learn of the role. Snowy joined the coordinator team under my wing and we became very close. i love my coordinator family and i feel like we are sometimes underappreciated
Snowy: When I first joined the staff team, everyone was so welcoming, especially the other coordinators. Rarity was basically my mentor and was a huge help and support for me
Daniel: I wish I spoke more to the other co-ordinators but I don’t really interact with them, so how I see them is still pretty much a first impression because I haven’t gotten to know them better… Rarity seems like a fun person to talk to 🙂 very sweet and nice kdjgkfnf really want to talk more with them And Snowy seems like a really cool and amazing person as well :muscle: she seems nice to talk to So yeah I believe my fellow co-ordinators are very awesome !!!! 😀
Do you usually cooperate with the other coordinators on certain tasks?
Rarity: snowy and i usually have to communicate as they do the attendance and i take care of the ranks page. i like when the coordinators are able to help each other, it makes us more of a family
Snowy: I always try to make sure I send Rarity all of the new corporal promos so she can keep the ranks page on the website updated
Daniel: Not really. I’m not entirely aware of all of our tasks haha but while Snowy and I work on similar stuff (or at least one of her tasks I’m aware of), we do our own thing separately, so no
How much do you think your help benefits the army?
Rarity: i think i help out a lot but its not often noticed. As editor of the ranks page, i make sure everyone is in the rank they are promoted to on discord. Im very proud of the work i do
Snowy: A lot of the work I do is background work, but I hope everything I do makes acp more enjoyable for troops as well as provide motivation for troops to attend events. I also hope what I do helps make things easier for staff so they can continue to make acp fun for everyone
Daniel: Between you, and I, and anyone who decides to read this…
I don’t know how they still keep me around LOL but uhhh being completely honest, it’s not like what I do is absolutely necessary for the army. And I do wish I could do more but life keeps getting in the way :broken_heart: so yeah I think the army would do just fine without my help but hey I’m still glad to be around even if I can’t do as much as I used to do
Do you think that coordinators aren’t that well known in ACP and if so, why?
Rarity: I think that because we work behind the scenes and don’t participate in leading events that we are not that well known. I have been advocating for us coordinators to be added to mod lead events and staff decisions, so I think we are being seen more due to those efforts. I hope that if a new troop wanted to join ACP Staff, but they aren’t so good with the responsibilities, they could see a coordinator and see that there is still something they can do as a staff member to help
Snowy: I would say we aren’t very well known in acp. I think we as coordinators don’t really have tasks that directly interact with troops, so troops don’t tend to know what we do. And since every coordinator has different tasks, explaining what we do isn’t as straight forward or easy to understand like it is with moderators, for example
Daniel: I guess we aren’t really well known… Or at least what we do, because I have seen and people have asked me about what co-ordinators do because most people don’t really know lol and hey I don’t blame them because it’s not like what HCOM or Mods usually do.
I suppose it depends on how often we engage with other army members and stuff, because as an example, I wouldn’t be offended if someone said they don’t know who I am because I barely have time to be in chat or at events nowadays, and I’m not aware of the situation of other co-ordinators so I can’t speak for them haha
And finally, is there anything you’d like to say to our readers?
Rarity: I would like to say that whether you are a staff member, or a troop, anything you can do in the army, be it attend events or lead them, they all matter. We each have our part in the family to play, and every single one of us are appreciated and loved. We are all ACP!
Snowy: I just want to thank all of the troops and staff, past and present, that have helped shape acp into what it is today. A kind and supportive commuity that welcomes everyone. I hope everyone continues to love and enjoy acp as much as I have for these past few years. GTFF!
Daniel: –
Tysm Rarity, Snowy, and Daniel for your interviews!
As we have seen, the Co-ordinators do the background work in our army! They are very crucial in ACP and are also very kind and sweet. What do you think about the Co-ordinators? Let us know in the comments down below!
