Addressed to the Army of Club Penguin
BLIZZARD, Shamrock Bulletin Headquarters – Welcome back to Penguin Vogue. This is the column where we ask various members of our army about their uniform and how they’ve customized it.
This column was last published in November 2021 and since then we’ve seen many members come and go with some exciting costumes on show! One of our coordinators, who isn’t afraid to customise their penguin and wear their heart on their sleeve is Rarity. Rarity can often be seen in-game, showing off their fairy wings to all of the ACP troops. However, little did she know that she could be an inspiration to all ACP troops who have yet to find their own penguin identity by customising their uniform.
Starting with the hairstyle, and working her way through the entire outfit, Rarity talked to us about each item and why they chose it.
The hair that I chose is the exact hairstyle I have IRL.
I use the kitty lashes because I think they give the penguin avatar a more cute look.
The wings represent a fairy in being free and happy.
The dress is to represent the clover army.
The background is puzzle pieces and I chose it to represent my autism and that I am an important piece of the ACP puzzle.
The shoes I chose because I wanted a cute pair of black shoes and the guitar is from the default uniform so that I could still look like I’m part of the army
My outfit is my take on the ACP uniform, and it makes me feel cute, represents myself, and helps me stand out during an event.
It’s clear to see that she thought a lot about her outfit before eventually choosing it. Not only did she want to represent herself during an event but wanted to make herself shine and stand out as an individual. Rarity is just one example that shows that being yourself, wearing what you want to wear, and standing out is a good thing, not a bad thing.
Alongside this, I asked her some questions about her outfit and whether or not it’s important for people to create their own outfits.
Do you think that it’s important for members to customise their uniforms?
I believe that each member should customize their uniform, but still use the uniform to guide their customization. When customizing your uniform, troops should stick to the color of their army and use items that match, some items like what you hold or what you wear on your neck or head can be fully customized to your liking. I also believe that if you have a hard time finding yourself in an event, it helps to have something that helps identify yourself
When did you first customise your outfit and why?
I’ve been customizing my uniform since I joined the army community. As an autistic, I rely heavily on expressing myself and when I’m in an online world the possibilities of customization are endless
What do you want to say to those reading this that haven’t found themselves a penguin identity?
Choose a penguin identity that represents you. Try not to worry too much about sticking to a particular look and have fun with how you look. In the end, your avatar should look like you, not what the army thinks you should look like
Thank you, Rarity, for sharing your outfit and thoughts with us. It’s clear to see that customization is important to Rarity and that she loves the fairy wings! She also believes that everyone should embrace individuality within armies and customize their uniforms that could, one day, become iconic. Over the years we’ve seen many legends customize their outfits and become known for the things that they wear. One example is Fatchicken and the 3D glasses. Could Rarity or even YOU become the next icon?
What do YOU think? Which of their items is your favorite? Let us know in the comments below!
