The Resignation of Splasher99

Hello ACP,

‘How lucky am I to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.’

The Army of CP. Being in it is an experience that you can’t forget, and probably can’t find anywhere else. The Army of CP isn’t just a rigid organization. It’s a family. The Army of CP isn’t just a place where troops get barked at by tyrannical owners. It’s a place where troops get kicked and abused lovingly by nearly tyrannical owners, but not quite. The Army of CP isn’t a place where you’d look at your troops indifferently. It’s a place where you make so many of your best friends, people who you love to spend hours on chat with just because they’re all so damn awesome.

I can’t express in words all the feelings I have as I post this resignation. There’s one of relief, I admit. Club Penguin is a game made for kids. While I’m not as old as many people here, I’m also not quite that young anymore and really have no desire to keep logging on to this game. But I also feel dismayed that it’s all going to end so soon. I’ve had a lot of fun here, along with a number of other feelings: anger, boredom, among others- but I have to admit that the feeling of fun and excitement was the one that ranked above all else, the one that featured most prominently.

Here’s a bit of my history.

My first time in the ACP was not this year, but back in mid-2011, when I joined the ACP for the rank of Staff Sergeant. I did not advance very high – there was no AUSIA division back then, and for someone living in Thailand it was impossible to make events unless I was willing to sacrifice some sleep, which I wasn’t. I left the ACP with no intention of returning.

And when return did come, I was not expecting it. Although I retired from armies back in October 2012, I returned in April 2013 to take up a position at CPAC. I began going on chat again, and that was when I found out about the rise of AUSIA divisions in armies. I didn’t really care at first. Why would I delve back into the world of CP? I didn’t see a good reason, until I received an unexpected PC.

It was from Flipmoo, back then a 3ic, about to leave on exams. Could I possibly fill in for him while he was away? I was hesitant at first. I had attended about three real battles back in 2011 beforehand and in full honesty I had absolutely no experience at all- I already forgot how tactics were even commanded- but crazily enough I accepted, becoming the AUSIA division’s first Second in Command. It was an unexpected turn- from a media guy who didn’t expect to ever rejoin an army, suddenly receiving lowest moderator in the Army of CP despite having practically no experience at all.

The next few months saw an unexpected rise for me, with a double promotion followed by a triple promotion. I also received the Bronze Medal Award after leading the AUSIA division against the AR while Flip was away – that war saw nearly twenty AUSIA victories. Soon enough I received a final promotion to the ACP ownership during the last days of Cassius Brutus’s leadership.

The months which I stayed in the ACP from mod to owner was filled with AUSIA victories on every front. I cannot claim much credit- a lot of the work was done by Flipmoo- but I must say I’m extremely proud of what we achieved. Rising from a size of 8 up to 50, serving as ACP’s winning hand in the wars against AR, UMA, DW, Nachos, LT and others: we’ve achieved a lot.

And that’s my story- from a guy who somehow got mod with no experience in June, to Third in Command of the ACP in November. I’m content with what I’ve achieved. I admit it- I wasn’t your most competent owner, and I sucked at recruiting, but I’m very glad I had a chance to serve the ACP loyally over the last year.

So I’m hardly happy that I’m going to be resigning from my Third in Command position, along with my role as ACP AUSIA Commander. As I’ve said, I’ve had so much fun here, and I’ve accomplished so much. I can’t say I didn’t have a choice, either: no one forced me to step down, and I’m certainly younger than a lot of people, so age perhaps isn’t quite a reason. But it can’t be denied that the ACP does take a considerable amount of my time – a finite, valuable resource that I feel could be more effectively as I go through high school.

Is the ACP not worth my time? I’m not saying that. I love the ACP. But I also have other priorities, ones that I feel should be put in front of logging on Club Penguin to J-Bomb an empty Dock. In addition, there’s no denying that Club Penguin is a children’s game.

Therefore, I hereby announce my resignation from my positions as ACP Third in Command and temporary AUSIA Division Commander.

I will not write a long list of goodbye messages. That can be saved for my final retirement. I’ll continue to stay in armies and work for CP Army Central, so this is not a final goodbye or anything. I do have some messages of thank you, however, for a few people.

To current leaders (Flipmoo and Sercan):

Sercan, you’re a great leader. You’re awesome. Flip, I can’t thank you enough. You pulled me into here, you insisted I could do it even when I kept whining that I suck, and you forced me up rank after rank, pushed through the BMA, requested an owner rank for me. Wow, that’s a lot, and I don’t know if I’ve done enough to repay you. Above all, though, you’re an excellent friend, and I hope I’ve been nearly as good. We’ll still keep our friendship after I leave the ACP I’m sure. I’m also sure that the ACP is heading towards a new golden era under you two and I look forward to seeing us rank at #1 consistently again, which I’m sure both of you can accomplish. Thank you.

To past leaders I served under (Capncook, Tori, Cassius Brutus):

I think I was quite removed from the direct chain of command until I ever entered the ownership, but still- thank you to all of you. Capn and Tori: you two didn’t lead ACP into it’s brightest and most glorious era, but still you two are incredibly sexy and I love both of you. Cas: you were another person who always supported me along my ACP career, and I hope that we’ll get to work together more now that I will be focusing on CPAC. Thank you.

To the ACP as a whole:

We haven’t had a smooth ride. The last year has seen some of our most drastic falls ever and we have yet to completely claw our way back into World Power status, although I can feel that we’re getting back there.  As our most recent events have shown, we’re capable of it; we can get back to being the undisputed dominant power. Stay strong. United we stand. We are at the beginnings of another golden age for ACP, I can see it. You guys are also a great group of people that I can spend hours on chat with. I’m proud to say this: once I am an ACP troop, forever I stay an ACP troop. Thank you.

To the AUSIA division:

Wow. Guys, just look at what you guys have accomplished last year. We can firmly say that we’re the strongest AUSIA division. We barely ever saw defeat. I’m proud of all of you, and really proud to have once been your commander. You guys are the best; you’re fun and relaxed in peace, and in war you’re strong, determined troops with a lot of morale and stamina. I asked a lot out of you guys- all those damned six battles in a row- and still you guys pulled through without complaint. You guys are a family to me. I know nearly all of you and I love all of you.  Know this: all of you are the absolute best. Thank you very much.

I’ll still be coming on chat very often, as I will continue in my role as Executive Producer at CPAC. Also, I understand that as the AUSIA division is still new, the succession there is still not yet clearly established. Should anything happen, I’m ready to return temporarily to serve the ACP. I may not have been a perfect owner, nor was I the most appropriate, nor was I the most competent, but thank you for everything; I highly appreciate it.

ACP, I salute you.

  18. Splasher, I’m speechless.

You were the greatest 2nd in Command I ever met in my 7 years of army history. You’re great friend as well. You supported both the division and myself in times of need, and you were always there to help when I needed your aid.
I will miss you deeply, but hearing that you will still come on chat eases my pain to say good-bye.

I’m glad that you aren’t retiring, but I will miss seeing your orange pawn beside your name on chat.

I wish I could’ve attended your last event.

Once again, thanks for everything you’ve done for the ACP, and I’ll always remember you as of of the greatest ACP commanders of all time.

    I salute you.

You were a great 3ic and amazing at leading the AUSIA division. You deserved that BMA during the ACP vs AR war.

You always made chat fun when you were on. I hope you come on chat time to time.

I’ll still see you in CPAC, remember to keep doing your site redesigns <3
