It’s that time of the year again!

ACP is now at a point where it has elections for Vice President, Senate and of course  a new ACP General [Third in Command].

There will be a debate for all the Vice Presidential and Third in Command candidates at the following date and time:

Each of these positions have a slightly different format to the election, please read on:

The Senate

The Senate will be voted using a system of ”list voting”. You vote for who you want. For moderators you have 5 votes, and for members you have 6 votes. Senators will be elected on basis of how many votes they get. Once the elections are over, a system of elimination will be used to determine who was elected.

Vice President

Anyone who was in the rank of ”General” or ”Field Marshal” was eligible to nominate themselves for the position of Vice President. This role is the de facto second in command of the army and the D.R.A.C.P. In a situation of Presidential absence, or incapacity – the Vice President would normally run the army. The Vice President is also President pro tempore of the Senate [They run the Senate]

For the Vice Presidential Election, you get one vote ONLY. The person with the most votes wins. It’s as simple as that.

General [Third in Command]

The position of General is normally not elected, but the President has the discretion to hold an election if he wishes to do so. In this instance, President Cassius was of the opinion that the soldiers should have a say in who will be our next General. All of the American Lieutenant Generals were eligible to run for the position of General.

This election is slightly different though. There will be voting in which all the soldiers of the army can participate in. But owing to the fact that we want the best person to become a Third in Command – A committee of all the Generals, Field Marshals and of course the Commander in Chief will take a vote also. It is necessary for the successful candidate to have a majority in both the committee and the general election. The President of the D.R.A.C.P as per his constitutional role – has the sole right to veto or confirm any appointment for this rank.
