Throwback Thursday: Trouble in Paradise

Addressed to the Army of Club Penguin

MAMMOTH, Shamrock Bulletin Headquarters – Take a trip down memory lane with me as we look at a specific event that occurred on today’s date in this week’s Throwback Thursday!

Today we’ll be taking a look at the archives from August 11th, 2008. Fourteen years ago the Army of Club Penguin was witnessing creator Oagalthorp have trouble deciding a new leader for the army following Fort57‘s retirement. Fort57 was only the second Commander in Chief ever. While Fort57 wanted to name his own candidate for leading, Oagalthorp had a different idea by announcing Rapidy as the next leader.

Alongside the mad grab for leadership was the mad grab for a larger nation. Besides the ACP, large armies like IW and UMA were becoming looking to increase their land size. Oagalthorp saw a problem with this as multiple armies laid ownership to the same servers. Thus, he announced what he called at the time, “This will be one of the largest military campaigns in Club Penguin history.” Eventually, feeling the pressure from all sides, he declared war on the UMA.

An attempt to reorganize the battlefield

The war ended up not going through as Rapidy and others focused on figuring out the ranks alongside the occasional invasion.
