Dilemma Decisions with Nacho and ZoomXT

BLIZZARD, Shamrock Bulletin Headquarters – Welcome back to Dilemma Decisions, where we present two people with dilemmas and understand how they would handle the given dilemma. This week we asked Nacho and ZoomXT the following question:

How would you respond to another moderator abusing their staff permissions?

Field General Nacho joined the army on June 23rd of last year. With over a year of experience, he has surely made multiple friends who are moderators. Here’s what he had to say about the situation:

Well, as a moderator I can’t demote or take off roles from other members of the staff team, I would mainly talk to them, telling them what they are doing wrong or/and should stop doing, then if they keep doing it I would dm a member of the Higher Command, and even if they keep doing it after various warnings I would just take actions by myself and demote them, of course that is just in extreme cases.

Lieutenant General ZoomXT also joined the army last year on March 1st. Having spent a lot of time in the army, how would he react to this dilemma? Here was his response:

When you are a mod you can be really tempted to do something you want, like mute someone that you personally do not like, sometimes we are not in a good mood to moderate, but as a team we always have another person to support us and help us to see what we are doing wrong. So If I see other mod abusing their staff permission, first I’d try talking with them to figure out what’s wrong, cause probably they just got upset at someone or they are not in a good day, but if it persists, probably a hcom will handle it

Both Zoom and Nacho have very similar reactions, with talking to the moderator in question as the first thing they would do. They would try to stop the moderator themselves, but if the issue persists, they would tell a member of the Higher Command and let them deal with the issue, very sensible solutions to the problem. Who will we present a Dilemma with next week? How will they respond?

How would YOU react to this situation? Let us know YOUR thoughts in the comments down below!
