Learning From Legends: 22nd Leader Kingfunks4

BLIZZARD, Shamrock Bulletin Headquarters – In this weekly column, we visit various legends from the community and pay them a penny for their thoughts. As we set out on our quest to uncover the wisdom of legends, what will we discover in this latest edition?

Kingfunks4

Kingfunks4 was the 22nd Commander-in-Chief of the Army of Club Penguin. He held this position twice, the first was a solo leadership in 2012 and the second was his duo-leadership with Antant. Kingfunks is most renowned for his work in helping grow the Water Vikings into a major power. He also led the Ice Warriors twice, helping them to attain first place on the Top Ten Armies numerous times and win the highly coveted Legends Cup tournament. Funks, as known to his friends, is also respected in the army media community for his many high ranking positions – including CP Army Central CEO a grand total of four times.

In this edition of ‘Learning From Legends’, the Shamrock Bulletin was able to get in touch with Kingfunks and ask about his tenure in the Army of CP and community. What wisdom will be passed to us today?

When did you lead the Army of CP, and how did you reach Commander in Chief?

So I led ACP twice, first in 2012 by myself and then a second leadership with Antant and then Swimmer in 2013. ACP was my first army and I joined in 2009 and was recruited from an XAT CP cheats chat. I eventually worked my way up to leader and took the position when Mchappy left, leaving my position as CPA Central CEO to lead ACP!

Throughout your endeavors in armies, what has been your favorite moment?

I don’t have a particular favourite moment in ACP per say, but I always remember my time with people like Ek and Purple Slime who were so funny and made my time in the army so memorable and enjoyable. My favourite moment in other armies is quite hard because there are so many, but I guess it would be leading the Ice Warriors to victory in the legends cup, which was definitely my biggest accomplishment as a leader. I had loads of memories in CPA Central and, of course, the Water Vikings as well!

What was the hardest challenge you’ve faced during your time in the community?

I think the hardest challenge was picking myself up from my second ACP leadership after we faced HSA and Nachos, it took a lot to restore myself and push on and develop my leadership from this setback, but it definitely helped to make me who I am

What is a piece of advice or a lesson you would give the members of the community, that you have learned along the way?

My piece of advice would be to never give up and don’t let people put you down, if you ever go through something difficult you can get through it and show people who you truly are!

This interview with Kingfunks4 teaches us the importance of not giving up no matter the circumstances we are facing, and how rewards can be reaped within the community if we abide by this lesson. This lesson, of course, pertains to real-life as well as the Club Penguin army community.
