Hello ACP,
Sorry to say guys, this post isn’t going to be so happy-go-lucky, so brace yourselves for some good old juicy Capncook rants. Let’s go back, all the way back. Well, not THAT far, but far enough to get into my noobhood here in the ACP. Ever since the first day I joined the ACP (Officially) on April 4, 2009, chat was PACKED. The ACP chat was like a bustling city that almost never slept, and back then we were almost all from the USA. If you don’t believe me, you can ask pretty much anyone from 2009-2011 and you’ll find out that the ACP chat was the most fun place to be when you had free time.
Things change. People come and go and move on to bigger and better things. However, there has always been a new generation to replace the old, and the cycle hasn’t stopped since. However, now we’re starting to see a slight change. People just aren’t coming to Club Penguin army chats anymore. Is it because everyone’s busy? Is it because the ACP chat isn’t a fun environment? Or is it the worst reason: Are there no more people to communicate with anymore?
Let me reiterate something before I move on. From 2009 all the way to somewhere in 2012, words simply could not describe how great it felt to be a moderator on the ACP chat (And owner sometimes) and how liberating it felt that I didn’t need to have a care for the world while I was there. Things were great, there were always people to see and meet and a huge majority were always friendly. Except to me of course who got into a lot of trouble hehe.
There are currently 81 owners and mods ranked in the ACP, and too many members to count. As I understand we are a divided army and everyone tends to be busy (Like myself, we all have something to do right? :D) there really is no excuse for the inattentiveness of people on chat. Out of the over 150 people just ranked in this army, we’re starting to see chat sizes of around 10-25 except on weekends where the chat is bigger. That’s not a good number at all guys. Back in the day (Lol) there was always people on chat, no matter what time of day. They could be owners, they could be mods, and hell, most of the time they were all members!
Look, we have the people all here. Out of the 81 mods and owners, I know just about all of them and have had the pleasure of talking to almost all of them personally on chat. It’s a great thing you know, to always have someone to talk to that you know is there for the same purpose as you, to talk. So why exactly, are people not coming on? I’d expect a low ranking member not to come on because they may just not know the whole idea of Club Penguin armies very well and things look confusing or complicated or even intimidating, but mods. You guys are are supposed to set an example for members, and right now the only thing a lot of you are doing is being LAZY.
Now, I’m not blaming it on you of course. Owners are just as lazy, we’re all penguins. 😀 Owners including myself probably need to motivate you guys better like in the old days. However, you mods and members can’t have a handful of people spoon-feed you everything and do ALL of the work. Club Penguin armies about fun. And I don’t know about you guys, but if my army is a medium army (Coming down from being the ONLY Club Penguin army SUPER POWER), I wouldn’t feel like I’m having so much fun being constantly invaded by some jerks who name themselves after Mexican finger foods, or even worse- the guys who are named after a topping to that Mexican finger food. It’s also not very fun doing all the work, I’m sure Mchappy could tell you all about that one.
Anyway, now let me tell you what happens if more people start coming on chat again:
First, everyone comes on chat and chat becomes the center of the Club Penguin army community.
Second, the ACP becomes the biggest Club Penguin army due to our ability to be anywhere we’re needed at anytime. We’re also now nearly invincible in wars (Like the old days).
Third, MORE PEOPLE EARN MOD ON CHAT AND MOD ON CHAT BECOMES A HUGE HONOR.
Fourth, everyone is happy and we’re all having fun. We enjoy a golden age and can finally balance out armies for the better so we don’t have to worry about constant wars no one likes anymore.
Doesn’t this sound really nice? All you guys have to do is well… A curse for most really, the bane of your very existence. That’s right, you’ll have to… WORK! By work, I mean fun work. 😀 To make the ACP the biggest and best army again, all you need to do is check the site everyday (Even if it’s only for a few minutes) and come on chat/go to battles. It’s not very hard, and although it can be a pain to do sometimes, if you do it the ACP will be the best. I don’t know about you, but I like being number 1…
Don’t miss out on the fun, good times, and glory, come to ACP chat.

Shab: If you decrease the amount of mods then modship becomes an even greater honor, just like it used to be
Fold: [edit colors are effort] ^ shab we really do need to sort out the mod problem its been an ongoing one that countless leaders/owners have tried to avoid but it’s got to the point where it does need to be tackled. We also have many other problems that need sorting eg lazyness , owners stepping up when 1/2ics are absent etc. I Propose the idea of a full ownership meeting. This is NOT OPTIONAL at some point in the next few days. I have half term next week [hello usa div long time no see] and will be around most of the time.
Owners, you have a choice between Saturday or Sunday the one with the most possible attending will go ahead, edit bellow with your name and chosen day.
Superoo13- SUNDAY! Honestly, ALL ACP OWNERS, UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL IS SATURDAY, PLEASE FOR GOD’S SAKE DO IT ON SUNDAY!

Far too positive for my liking
Unfortunately I won’t be here this weekend, however I agree that our chat could use a bit more revamping to make it more active.
My dear friend Capn, you are missing out on the point:
First off, the ACP has not had a single UK or US event in 5 days. More importantly, the ACP hasn’t had a single SCHEDULED EVENT since May 17th, a whole freaking WEEK ago. How is it possible that not a single owner has scheduled an event this week? There are a total of 8 owners, all of them added to the site. Yet for 7 days, they have not been able to schedule a single event?
Off to my second point. If you didn’t know, this is in fact the so called “exam week”. I had 5, yes 5 tests this week in different subjects, along with two DELF exams last week. Some people from Europe have more than that, and a few US people are getting ready for their final exams also. Obviously they are going to decide on studying rather than chatting with other soldiers on chat.
My third opinion: you expect soldiers to come to chat when the army is practically inactive? Most of the soldiers come on chat right before an event; but what are they supposed to do…if there are no events? Not only that, your demand of ACP soldiers being on chat 24/7 (an expression) is causing half of the soldiers becoming afk, as they don’t have the time to be on chat the whole day.
I am defending all of the members and moderators, as they have done nothing wrong at all. Our job is to stay loyal to this army, but when our commanders aren’t doing theirs, what do you expect us to do?
Also, ACP is in a very “iffy” situation now. There is only 1 single day till the top ten comes out, and with only 1 AUS event with sizes of 13 and a US event with 20-25, the ACP might not get such a great placement. More importantly, as Superoo said this Saturday is the UEFA Champions Cup Finals, which I am definitely going to watch. I’m sorry, but you only have one UEFA final, but tons of ACP events.
I am using my right to express my opinion. I hope this is heard, as the ACP ownership line needs to step up their game.
That is all.
As leader I apologize to the fullest that there has not been an event post this week. There have been a few times where I was able to get on, but there is a lot going on in my life at the moment. We will be having events today and tomorrow though. As summer comes closer you can guarantee that the ownership will definitely be doing better and staying more active.
Just as you have exam week, so do the owners. All major armies (unless they’re in war) are having trouble getting good sizes or planning events recently. However I am not saying that the fact we have not scheduled events is okay.
I don’t think this post was intended to make soldiers feel bad, or yell at them. If anything, like Foldez said, it was pretty positive for the most part. The owners do not expect everyone to be on 24/7. Nonetheless we would hope that a soldier is willing to be on at least once a day to check up on everything. I think Capncook was trying to get at that chat is not just for a place to go when there is an event, but it’s a fun place to chat with others across the world.
Note that our event on Sunday counts for this week’s top ten due to the fact that Bluesockwa2 would not count it for last week’s. I personally do not care about the ranking of the top ten though, or will use it for vengeance.
Thank you for your comment. I am — and sure the others — are all ears to criticism and ideas. My goal this time as ACP leader is to secure ACP in a legendary, safe, status where the retired leaders onward do not have to feel the need to interfere.
Yes, why the bloody hell have our 7 other owners failed to do anything at all in Mch’s absense/inactivity? That’s the reason we have other owners. If we wanted to make it so only Mch could schedule events, we’d only have one single leader. This is the #1 issue with ACP’s leaders (besides Mch and probably Capn). None of you act like leaders 95% of the time because you do not initiate anything. I don’t know what you think your responsibilities as leaders are, but you surely aren’t fulfilling them. If a leader is not present at any given time, that means the next highest rank is acting as leader. As you heard, Mch won’t be around this weekend. I better see at least two events for Saturday and Sunday scheduled or we’re going to have serious issues. You cannot expect people to be on chat if there is absolutely nothing to do. The army should not come to a complete standstill as soon as the main leader becomes busy.
Yes, yes I know, Boomer! I also think there should be more events. I just don’t think I am that allowed to schedule events. I am absolutely desperate to schedule 2 AUS events, 2 UK events and 2 USA events next week to keep ACP awake and all the forces active, however I am not so sure if Mchappy would approve it. I do know the responsibility for being a leader of a huge army but well, I have to be honest, I am not a good leader. It’s the posting I need to focus on more.
You have by all means my approval to post events if I seem to be too busy to get to it myself.
Yeasy, I understand your frustration. Whilst writing the post, my intent was to cover certain aspects as to why soldiers aren’t coming on chat now.
I am just like you, I have finals and I go to many review sessions every week (Except mine are in June). I am in the toughest grade for American schools and I have a lot of homework to do, plus the reviews again and studying. Needless to say, I fit in time for the ACP because I find it both a fun activity to participate in outside of school, and as a “job” of some sorts that I love.
I don’t believe however you are exactly justified in some of the things you have stated above. Let me quote some things from my post:
” Back in the day (Lol) there was always people on chat, no matter what time of day. They could be owners, they could be mods, and hell, most of the time they were all members!”
If you had eyes, or a brain, or if this were in braille and you could read that way, you’d realize that I say “no matter what time of the day.” That didn’t just apply for regular days, that would work on every single day of the year for the past four years. This includes days like Christmas, the fourth of July, Thanksgiving, etc.
Also, I do not appreciate that you try to manipulate my text to say that I am blaming the members and moderators, because I specifically said:
“Now, I’m not blaming it on you of course. Owners are just as lazy, we’re all penguins. Owners including myself probably need to motivate you guys better like in the old days.”
This isn’t a blame game, no one’s trying to pin all of our problems on one thing. This post is simply explaining a problem in the ACP and suggesting a solution to better ourselves; rather than just stating it and blaming everyone else but myself.
As I agree that we owners haven’t done much in the past few days regarding events, it’s because we too have been busy. I’ve been on chat when I can and usually Foldez was the only other leader online. Now I know, excuses excuses. We certainly have messed up here I wont’ lie to you. Now if I may suggest a solution, rather than complaining about it:
Moderators and members should be on chat more so we can have unscheduled events more easily so we don’t have to have scheduled events when our leaders are living some of the busiest times of their lives.
Hmm yea, didn’t think you could make a difference did you now? Anyway, a partial lesson to be learned here is that the owners have always done a lot of work to keep the ACP alive and well, but we can’t do everything-we never have. We need your help as much as you might need us. Without you, we have no power, and without the people, the ACP will die; paving the way for armies like the ones of the former Black Alliance to fight in the community as unjustifiably as they have before unchecked. We can’t let this happen, only YOU can save the ACP and all you have to do is come on chat more often.
-Capncook
I totally agree with the 1st paragraph.
@yeasy
Let me just say,
under Mch’s 2nd leadership – 5 owners
under Mch’s 3rd leadership – 5 3ics.
So to why are there more events, more posts and generally more activity during his 2nd leadership than his 3rd leadership. Does this show that the current owners need to do more? probably. The UK owners particularly need to do more.
I’m on it.
Our owners need to step up. The fact that we can’t even log onto Club Penguin without Mchappy is worrying for the army and its future. When Mchappy does retire, one of our owners will become leader, which I myself am not looking forward to unless an owner gets their act together.
I don’t understand why you expect soldiers to come on chat whenever they can. Sure, they came on chat in their free time back in 2009-2011 because we actually had events then. Now, we have become inactive due to the fact that our owners aren’t even doing anything. Our chat has become more of a hangout place rather than a CP army chat.
What I don’t understand is how we could formerly have 5 owners and have around 2 events regularly, yet now we have 8 owners who barely do anything and schedule around 1-2 events a week. Please sort this out, for the greater good of the ACP and its troops.
Well, another problem I see is that the ACP owners are giving mod ranks to people like me *shifty* who are semi-retired, so please, feel free to give someone else my rank who deserves it more.
oh I miss it back during 2012. When I joined, the chat was FULL! Then it fell. Then It came back up when mch was the leader last summer. WE HAD 2 CHAT POOLS! I think mch has a effect on the army
a good one.
I mean a good effect on the army! sorry for all the reply’s!
