Although this ended last Sunday I thought I may as well post it to give us a talking point about something other than battles. For any of you that don’t know, the Ryder Cup is a bi-yearly golfing competition between the USA and Europe which is rotated between the two countries. It starts on a Friday and ends on a Sunday. First to 14 and a half points wins, with the USA leading by a massive four points (10-6) going into the last day…
Rory Mcilroy, ranked number one in the world, on the Europe team, almost had to skip his last day match because he had the wrong time zone. In the end, he had to get a police escort to the golfing course to play his match and had no practice for his golfing day! In the end, Europe brought it to 13-13 and eventually won the golfing tournament and made golfing history, with the best comeback ever. This ranks up with comebacks such as LIVERPOOL vs AC MILAN, BAYERN MUNICH VS MAN UNITED or MAN CITY vs QPR. The USA had crumbled, the Europe had won the Ryder Cup.

However, the Ryder Cup is traditionally a tournament won by the USA, with 25 wins. Whereas Europe (formally just Great Britain) have 13 wins. But in recent times, Europe seem to be dominating the Ryder Cup with back to back wins. Normally I’m not into Golf, but the way Europe turned it around with the great atmosphere was amazing. Chants of ‘USA USA’ or ‘Euuurope, Euuurope’ and the whole place was stunning. This has portrayed Golf as a fun, exciting and exciting sport. I may have hated golf before, but it’s alright now.
The next ryder cup, 2014, will be held in our leader’s country, SCOTLAND! Who do you think will win, USA or Europe?
