Yes, another retirement. First let me say right off, I can never match the quality of Foxes retirement post, so I apologize right up front for the disappointment. I am retiring from ACP with no regrets. I feel confident that Seane Hawk will lead ACP better then I ever did or could. I gave ACP my best. I tried to make everyone happy and probably failed 50% of the time. I think I used up energy meant for ACP fighting off the NG. That honestly was the worst welcome any leader could hope for. A solid month of being berated and hated for rising up faster then a bunch of envious rebels felt I should. But in the end, they imploded and faded off to deal with their hatred in other ways I suppose. Even heading into retirement I feel so lucky for having had the opportunity to lead such a loyal and dedicated army like ACP. Back in my N00b days ( and I know there some who will say I am still a n00b) I never dared dream I would one day lead this very army. I looked up to Boomer (still do) and respected the former leaders as you would former world leaders. Along the path to where I am today I made many friends, and to be honest a couple enemies. I never meant for the former to happen, but I can not dictate to others how they should feel towards me.
I would like to thank those first that meant the most to me during my career at ACP. In no particular order, here we go. Boomer, my first leader. You always had time to listen to a N00b, and always gave great advice. I told you when I became leader that I would always consider you my leader, and still do today. I think I was just keeping your chair warm for you. Perhaps one day that will be true again.
Shab, my mentor and confidant. You gave me my first rank and looked after me throughout my career. You showed me options and always told me the hard truth. I think ACP lost by not being led by you.
Saint, the first soldier I ever met on ACP. You never treated me like a nOOb. You showed respect to every rank and I decided back then that I would always treat people the way you did. You inspired me to always see the good side of every soldier and listen to to them. You always were there for me even after you handed ACP over to me, you were never but a message away from my side. I know Seane will benefit greatly from your friendship.
KG, I met you early and to be honest, I was not to sure about you. You seemed distant and aloof. Wow, little did I know you would become one of my closest friends on ACP. I always enjoyed our talks and hope that does not end. You call yourself a Hippie, I call you a friend and a teacher of life.
Seane, the futere of ACP. A good friend, and a great teacher. I could not leave ACP in better hands.
Adav, I do not remember when we met, it seems like we were always friends. You are so easy to laugh with. You were always ready with a kind word when leadership would take a toll. You always saw the good side of me and refused to see my faults. I still think you need your eyes checked lol.
Thomas, I met you thru Div, he was right, you are a great friend and excellent soldier. You kept me on my toes, where your sister could not see my faults, you always pointed them out to me, and encouraged me to try harder.
Houndy, we came up together. You never ceased to make me laugh. When I was made temp leader of Alpha, I could always count on you to help me patrol. Good friends are like good music, just easy to be around, you are truly a good friend.
Draggy, I first met you when you published your drawings on You -Tube, You are such a talented artist, and such a good heart. We became instant friends and each others cheer leader. I loved the way you always called me “Mr. Dryv”. I have no doubt you will go far in life as a wonderful artist. You see life the way no one else does. I always admired that. Your confidence in me never faltered. Thank you.
Div and Paint, you guys will see me every day, so good for you lol. I miss Kurt each and every day, but thank God for you two, every day also.
Axe, you and I go way back, you have been a pal from the start and always told me you saw me leading one day. Guess what? Again, you were right. I hate that about you : )
Finally I want to thank Babs. My best friend in life. I cannot begin to think of my life without you beside me every step for as far back as I can recall, and far forward as God will allow. We have been through the very very sad of life to the very best it has to offer. Thanks for always, always being here for me.
