Mammoth, Shamrock Bulletin HQ – It is no secret that ACP is just getting back on its feet, with Project: Revival starting merely a few weeks ago. It’s a period of change for the community, with a new league and server map. New faces are showing up, old ones are returning, and some are leaving. A new era may be just starting, and here we are at its doorstep.
The new Club Penguin Armies league has a massive summer planned, full of events and tournaments; the first of which being Beach Brawl 2. The Beach Brawl was an event organized back in 2020 by Club Penguin Army Hub, with the Pizza Federation taking home the inaugural trophy. Back then the format was a normal Small/Medium Armies tournament with a single elimination bracket. CPA would be a lame E-Sport.
This time around, the format will be one massive battle with all 8 participating armies on at the same time. Each army will be pit against another random army for 10 minutes in a single room, then another one in a different room, and a third one. Overtimes can be used to determine the result of each room, and the army with the most victories will take the cake. A cake by the ocean, in a way.
It is definitely going to be a brawl, a test for the new league, and an opportunity for us to prove what we’re made of.
I interviewed 4 important members within the army (General Sidie9, Field General Shalissa, and Brigadier General Calgocubs) about their opinions and expectations for the upcoming tournament/event/battle royale/taco tuesday/competition:
What do you think about the upcoming Beach Brawl?
Sidie: I’m excited for it! The Beach Brawl II has a really awesome format and I think it’ll be a lot of fun. It’s also a great opportunity for us to get a big W >:D
Sha: I am super duper excited for it! This is my first battle as a member of ACP so I am looking forward to participating and helping the higher command with leading!
Calgocubs: I’m overall really excited and eager for us to compete. It’s been quite a while since our last tournament, and I feel like this is a great way for us to prove that we still have what it takes to be a top army in the community. While it does feel weird being categorized as a medium/small army, I feel like this is the first step for us to make ACP a top contending army. I think we have high expectations for ourselves to perform well this Saturday as we know what we are capable of. I’m also quite excited for this format. It’s not the standard bracket system that most tournaments follow which is quite intriguing.
Are you confident in the new league’s abilities to host competent tournaments?
Sidie: I think this will be a good opportunity to see if the new CP Armies organization is capable of running quality tournaments. I have a lot of faith in them, as I have worked with individuals like DMT and Max in CP Army Headquarters, so I’m sure it will be great.
Sha: I joined ACP after taking a long break from the community, so unfortunately I don’t have much knowledge of the new league. I know that the staff there is experienced though, so I hope that they will host it fairly and to the best of their abilities.
Calgocubs: Historically I haven’t been too fond of the past leagues and how they’ve been organized. I think sometimes they overdo it and put too many restrictions in place especially when it comes to wars. Tournaments are different though and I think it’s too early to know. I’d rather wait to see, as only time will tell if they can host them properly.
How far can ACP go in this tournament?
Sidie: We’re getting that win no matter what. We need to be very prepared but I know we will do it. Our time is now!
Sha: ACP recently has seen a huge boost in both size and morale due to Project: Revival, so this tournament couldn’t be at a better time for us. Our members are hyped and motivated to succeed, and ultimately I believe our positive attitudes will be the main key in taking us all the way to the end and winning the tournament. My fingers are crossed for an ACP victory!
Calgocubs: I don’t think it’s a question of how far, but rather how well we can perform and show up in numbers. Realistically, I think we can easily win all three of our battles, but we shouldn’t underestimate any of the competition either. Special Weapons and Tactics is one of the armies competing that caught my eye. They are definitely not to be taken lightly, especially considering that their maxes are on par with ours. I would not be surprised if we saw several upsets at this event. I believe we can win this event as long as we show up with our numbers and come prepared. Organization and numbers are key to winning battles and tournaments.
The hype is real. We are ready for this competition and for everything that comes our way. ACP is just revving its gears. So yes, we can take the Beach Brawl 2. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.
