On This Week: Recycling Plant

BLIZZARD, Shamrock Bulletin Headquarters – In the next edition of our Saturday column: On This Week, we take a trip back to 2010 which saw the opening of one of Club Penguin’s lesser known rooms: the Recycling Plant.

The focus of today’s “On This Week” is the opening of a room back in 2010. The Recycling Plant arrived on April 21 back in 2010.

The room, which is still accessible on Club Penguin Private Server Club Penguin Rewritten, was mainly comprised of the Recycletron 3000, an invention by CP Gadget Guy Gary. The device converted penguin’s snowballs, which displayed as trash like barrels and pizza boxes, to useful alternatives.

Throughout it’s around 3-year tenure on original Club Penguin, the room saw a limited number of room decorations. The first, during the April Fools’ Party of 2011, saw the room turn into the “spinning arrow room”.

The second and third decorations, virtually identical, were seen during the medieval parties of 2011 and 2012. The redesign, which converted the Recycletron into a medieval alternative, saw things like laptops swapped out for anvils!

Following a, supposedly unpopular, three year run, the room was removed in July 2013 and replaced with the School. The school also added an alternate route between the Mine Shack and the Ice Rink/Stadium.

And there you have it – an insightful look at a room from Club Penguin’s past! I’ll be back next week with another edition of “On This Week”, taking a look at the past history of Club Penguin or Club Penguin Armies! Prepare for war…
