Sorry – Should I retire?

I’m not sure what else I could do to the post tittle, I only want to give my apologies to the whole army for my awful leadership. Never has the ACP been so low, you could probably say I was the worst ACP leader ever. If you say that to me as an insult, fine, I agree with that anyway. I knew I would be overthrown during my two week holiday when I took up the leadership and my holiday couldn’t come at a worse time. However, Shab and Boomer need to leave ACP alone for good. I don’t see Oagal, Fort, Ias or any other leader doing anything to the ACP. Only the most recent leaders have a claim to ‘help out’.

Falling to 6th is an awful thing to see. We never thought we’d see the ACP drop out of the top 3, let alone the top 5. Although this is shocking, terrible and very bad, this is only CPAC’s opinion (ily CPAC) and we don’t have to look into it too much. However, I will not take the blame for ACP falling to 6th for the following reasons:

  • I was not here and before I left we were averaging 25 (at “all time” events) and were basically 2nd on the top ten. The drop showed that I was missed when I left and I refuse to say we would have fallen to 6th if I was here.
  • Capncook and Ek were leaders at the time. Although I don’t think this was Ek’s fault and he tried all he could to keep ACP going as a temporary leader, capn tried to stir trouble and get himself the leader position. I will be of the opinion, like some others, that this was Capn’s fault.
  • What could I do about it? This is basically the same as the first point, just another branch. If I wasn’t here, how could I be blamed for the fall to 6th because I couldn’t really stop it or make the damage limited. It’s easy to overthrow and blame someone when they aren’t around.

However, I am still sorry for taking the ACP down to a lower level because I know 25+ and 3rd is not good enough for the ACP. I’m not going to lie to any of you, I am thinking about retiring. I know what a lot of you will say: “Retire if you want to”. I’m not sure if I want to or not, so I want to know what you would answer to the following question….

If Kingfunks4 were to get leader again after Ek, would you back him or would you try to get rid of him the second he got leader; would you trust his leadership skills?

I’d like as many people to answer that question in comment and please be honest. If most of the people answer the “get rid of him” answer I will most likely retire. If most people answer the “back him” answer I will most likely stay. If it’s about 50/50, I am not sure what I will do but I’d probably stay.

Sorry for my poor leadership, my poor posts, my poor ranking system, my poor decisions and most of all my poor overall performance as ACP Leader. I know many of you want me to stay, but I know many more hate me and want me to go.

  2. Even though I feel this is none of my business it is a far to Important post to ignore. If you did rejoin I would back you and I would fight for you. You blame yourself an so do others but maybe thy should take a good look at themselves and see if they could have done something and sill could do something to keep this army alive and back to where it belongs at 1st place which is where it was If I remember correctly when I left. If you give up now… Then what chance does anyone have ?

  3. On the whole couping situation While you were away, there did seem to be, rising throughout the weeks, support for your coup. Capncook began to openly talk about one. However, Ek made a post which seemed to calm down the ACP. Of course, there was a lot of support for Ek in it because that’s who they trusted at the time, but there was also a lot of support for you in it. That seemed to be the end of matters for me.

    2 days later, Boomer and Shab returned to coup. I’m not a great fan of Shaboomer coups/control/godfather-ship on the whole, especially one which was unfair and unnecessary.

    I think Funks had faults with his leadership, noticeable faults (can I talk to you about this, I think it could help), but practically anyone who supported a coup had only one reason, which was that the ACP was faltering and it was apparently your fault.

    P.S. Despite all I have said about second chances, I think Ek should stay leader (and is a very good leader). However I know you never suggested anything different.

    On you retiring I think that’s up to you. The ACP won’t accept you back as a leader anytime soon, however with work and perseverance you can prove yourself to be the leader you never got the opportunity to be.

    • Due to someone else asking me about his “faults”, I’ll clarify. He had faults. They hindered his leadership, imo. But everyone has faults, and he should’ve been given a chance. They weren’t, “leadership ending faults”.

  4. Don’t be so unhappy if we’re not in the top 3. At least we’re still in the top ten =P. Don’t retire. Don’t be such a damn sore loser, man. We can do it. We will knock down all those armies and we will get number 1. WE WON’T STOP. WE WILL NEVER STOP!
    LETS GET THAT NUMBER ONE WITHOUT ANY RETIRING!!!!!!!!!!

  5. Son’t quit. You can’t physically make soldiers ,og on.
    Let’s talk on chat later about it.

  6. Right.
    I agree, your leadership was poor. It had it’s advantages at time, but generally, it wasn’t fantastic. You aren’t the worst leader ever, that’ll probably go to someone else (I would name others but I wasn’t there).
    If you became leader again, I would definitely back you up. I always support the leader, it’s something I’ve learned to do that’s important in my time here. The only leader I wouldn’t support is Capn.
    I know you don’t want people to say this, but retiring is up to you. I like you, as a friend and leader (when you’re not being pessimistic), and a fellow troop. And I wouldn’t go and say you should retire, because it’s totally your choice, and we kinda need all the help and expertise we can get anyway. You know CPAC like the back of your hand, so if we want to get back to #1, we need you.

    As I said before, it’s totally your choice, but personally, I think you should stay. Just don’t be pessimistic anymore.

  7. Of course I would back you up Funks, it was Capn who started the crap. He was the one who started the Coup D’etate, what left us bleeding. We would’ve been fine if you would’ve stayed as leader, because the leadership crises would end. But Capn was power hungry and planned with Shab and Boomer a Coup. After that Capn retired for no reason at all and and they placed Ek as leader. It isn’t Ek’s fault that you lost your leadership, he was completely on your side and didn’t support the coup at all. What I think is that you should go up to Ek and ask him if you can lead with him. I don’t even know why Shab and Boomer wanted to overthrow you due to the fact that it was just a leadership crisis and it wasn’t you who caused all the low drops, it was just the people who didn’t want to go to the events. I am sorry that in the early stages of your leadership I didn’t support you. And you shouldn’t retire! You worked your way up ALL the way to 2ic, you can go farther.

  8. im not gunna write a story here but. you cant blame yourself for everything that went wrong during your time away and when you were leader. every leader has there faults and the only way to change them is to keep going. the leadership unit is made up of more than 1 person for a reason.

  9. Please stay, Funks. It’s up to you if you want to retire, like you said, but please stay at least a little bit longer. And please, try not to go on anymore long holidays like that one.

  10. I personally think it was Capn’s fault, seeing as he was pretty much the sole leader while you were gone/we fell to 6th, he argued that it was your fault but you weren’t even there.

    You shouldn’t leave. I mean, I know it’s really depressing and everything that you got demoted, but you shouldn’t give up. Stay a little longer, plus being 2ic is better than leader (not that I would know, though).

  11. dude, you were sick! We can all under stand that! Don’t be sorry, of course you should have second chance! It’s not like you wanted to be sick!
    Besides, Capn is waaayyyy to power hunger, we just can’t trust him!
    After we’ve destroyed the st, i will completely back you up as leader! I just think that it would be way to confusing to change leaders in the middle of a war.

    And ek, don’t get me wrong, You’ve been a great leader! I just think that funks deserves another chance.

    jorsnape

  12. As I was told when I was fired from 3ic, Keep your head up, and look at me now *awe* So Funks, don’t retire and I agree with Etac, it was mostly Capn’s fault.

  13. what everyone else said

  14. Funks, it’s not entirely your fault! Towards the end of summer, ALL armies drop sizes as MOST people go on holiday then!

  15. I like how everybody is saying not not retire because you are a good leader, when you got couped for bad leadeship skills.

    Some People are better in a supporting cast than in the main role.

  16. Its not your fault Funks, you should stay and try again. Oh, and my other opinion is that this soup tastes bitter. Needs salt

  17. Funks, once the public (other armies) start to read this, and comment, you need to ignore that. You need to depend on your own choices now, and you need to ask yourself if its worth trying again to get leader.

    But, its not your fault the ACP fell, we fell when you left, period. Capn’s coup was what started it all. When Capn started talking about it……well….People were then given the idea that you were the reasoning behind it, and they had nothing else to blame. And to everyone who was in that “renegade” and was really trying to Help the ACP, you did us good in getting Capn out of the picture, and Ek in, but Funks was no one to blame in the matter.

    But now Funks, you need to decide yourself if you need to prove yourself again, or if you quit and never know what will happen.

    It’s all your choice.

  18. Stay funks, acp needs everyone at the most right now, and that includes you. don’t retire please…

    PLEASE STAY AND DON’T RETIRE FROM ACP!!!

    if you agree, copy and paste the chant and comment it just for 1 person, FUNKS!!!

  19. I’d back Funks. Funks it wasnt your fault you were a great leader. One of the only reasons we began to fall is because you were sick and you couldn’t come to battles which isn’t your fault. Ek and Funks would make a very nice leadership combination. Funks it isn’t your fault when you were sick that was the time we began to fall a bit but Funks your awesome and your a great leader. It’s definitely not your fault and it would be awesome if Funks and Ek led ACP. Ek and Funks are great leaders!

  20. YOUR LEADERSHIP IS BAD AND YOU SHOULD FEEL BAD!

  21. I would not trust his leadership skills because last time the battles were confusing. Plus Ek makes us lower ranked soldiers feel welcome and important

  22. I think to take Ek out now would be an awful idea and I don’t think two UK Leaders would help much at all, but I would love to have you stay as a 2ic. I think your a very good 2ic in the end.

  23. Dont say your sorry. This is why you suck. Look what you did and improve from it you jack wagon.

  24. awww Funks! ❤ Don't retire. No way, I am and always have been in total support of you as you know. Here are experts from a post I made titled "Actions Speak Louder Than Words" dated Aug 6, 2012. At this time you had just became leader and were having a bit difficulty with ACP adjusting to you.

    "I know when Kingfunks, aka Funks, took over ACP leadership when Icey Cold retired, there was a lot of uncertainty about Kingfunks as a leader. I, myself, was unsure about it because I had seen criticism (especially from Nachos) and recently lots in ACP chat too. However, I also understand that Kingfunks got to where he is in ACP for a reason and I have heard outstanding reviews about Kingfunks's involvement in CPAC. I decided to put what I had heard in by back pocket and observe and make my own judgment on Kingfunks as a leader and give him a fair chance and my full support.

    Actions speak louder than words. My assessment thus far based on my observations and interactions with Kingfunks is that he is an excellent leader showing excellent leadership qualities. Look I'm a direct person, most you know that, and some criticize me for being a “suck up” to people—which I am NOT. I tell it like it is….good, bad, or ugly. If Kingfunks stunk, I'd be the first to say it. However, that is not my experience at all.

    Kingfunks is a great leader! He listens, he interacts, he's reliable, he's analytical, reasonable, and a good problem solver and I could go on with great qualities. If you have a concern or suggestion, Kingfunks will openly listen, discuss, and make suggestions or judgments for you. Leaders who communicate are successful. Bad leadership is a dictator who does what they want to do and doesn't openly listen to anyone or any suggestions/recommendations and act upon them. I'm not saying Kingfunks is perfect or that he doesn't have issues with people, but he's a good leader.

    I have seen and followed Kingfunks during recent events and he is totally in charge and sharp/focused with great tactical flow.

    Forget what you have heard about Kingfunks, his actions speak louder than words and thus far has proven excellence in leadership. We have nothing to be afraid of with Kingfunks in control."

    I was and still in total support of you Funks. My only criticism is that I thought it rude how you made a post as you were going out the door on a 2 week holiday. It's as if ACP was an afterthought. I thought as leader, you would have given notice so we could make adjustments mentally and physically. Nobody is perfect though, including me!

    I was not supportive for the coup and I think we should have kept Capn and EK as temp leaders until you came back, but it happened differently unfortunately. It was NOT fair to you.

    You really need to stay in ACP as 2ic and prove yourself worthy once again to become leader someday. You are a valuable asset and great friend to ACP.

    Glad you came back!

  25. I just have one more thing to say….this is Funks

    A = Attentive
    C = Character, Charisma, Caring
    P = Personality, Passion

    L = Leader, Listens, Loyal, Love
    E = Enjoyable
    A = Administrator, Active
    D = Detailed, Dependable
    E = Enthusiastic
    R = Role Model, Reliable
    S = Strong, Sensitive, Sympathetic, Soldier, Strength
    H = Honesty, Honorable
    I = Integrity, Intelligence, Interesting
    P = Positive, Personal

  26. Keep trying. When you leave armies, you’ll be wondering about all the opportunities you didn’t take. Now that you’re still here, make the most out of it.

  27. Anyone else notice how, by extension, ACP’s fall is Ken’s fault? He interpreted the Nachos’ ‘Operation Buttersocks’ as an act of open hostility (in a private post) and declared war on Nachos. He then retired and left us in a nice little mess. Then owner after owner retired, thrusting the leadership on to Funks. Meanwhile, the Nacho war is going badly, severely lowering morale which in turn diminished our sizes. If Ken hadn’t declared war, the owners’ retirement wouldn’t be so bad as it was during peacetime. Funks would have time to settle in to his new position and he wouldn’t be so unpopular.

  28. Funks, don’t retire.
    I really don’t blame you for this, it’s not like you can/should cancel a holiday, just because you’re suddenly ACP leader…
    The reason that ACP fell was because of the instability, having so many leadership changes within the space of a short period, and then having Mch going inactive throughout a war.
    Personally I blame the whole thing on Capn, who basically stirred up the whole “Coup” idea and made it serious, which would affect ACP’s activity a lot, who would want to be a part of an army about to go into a coup…
    You’re a fantastic leader Funks, and I really don’t think you should retire.
    ily ❤

  29. You may retire.

  30. Funks you’re good and all but lead when youre ready.

  31. Retire 😀

  32. 1. Error shut the f up
    2. all of you who said he should retire, go to hell
    3. Funks if you retire, ill never be your friend again.

    -skipper233

    Forward,

    March!

  33. Well, my experience is that in any large group you will have somewhere between 2% and 20% idiotic jerks. But good leadership improves the ratio, and bad leadership hurts it. If the idiots are challenged, held accountable, the people on the edge will see that and avoid the idiot behaviors. On the other hand, if the idiots are let to do as they please, people on the edge will follow them. Pretty soon, quitting early, goofing off, subpar work, all become acceptable as a standard. I like to tell people this: We aren’t running a prison or a nursery school. It’s a business, and we are paying you to do certain things. If you hold up your end well, most of our conversations are going to be about the weather and sports. Outside of line-up meetings, there will be no reason to talk about the work, because you will have done it already.

  34. funks! I was one of the few u,s,a troopers that wanted to give you a chanse will the other u,s,a people say we hate you. I want you back to leadership. I belive you will be a great leader. LONG LIVE KINGFUNKS! LONG LIVE ACP! ;D
