God Save the Queen Part II [Mega Post Celebrating The Diamond Jubilee]

Hello ACP,

I just had to make a post. This is also my longest ever post. Almost 2000 words.

I was asked by many to do so as well. Remember when there was like 2-4 Fourth of July Posts? Some retired people actually came and posted pictures of fireworks. :lol” And no I am not attempting to outdo Funks’s post. But if I saw, I overkilled by making it almost more than quadruple the number of words. But I am trying to express my own loyalty to Her Majesty the Queen. Although I just call her the Queen of Canada all you guys from around the world know her as the Queen of Australia, Queen of Jamaica and especially the Queen of the United Kingdom. (Officially there isn’t a Queen of England just saying) Did you know she is Queen of 16 countries right now? At one time she was also the Queen of Pakistan! Below I have listed all her titles as Queen of those countries.

  • Her Majesty Elizabeth the Second, by the Grace of God, Queen of Antigua and Barbuda and of Her other Realms and Territories, Head of the Commonwealth
  • Her Majesty Elizabeth the Second, by the Grace of God, Queen of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas and of Her other Realms and Territories, Head of the Commonwealth

  • Her Majesty Elizabeth the Second, by the Grace of God, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and of Grenada and Her other Realms and Territories, Head of the Commonwealth
  • Her Majesty Elizabeth the Second, by the Grace of God, Queen of Jamaica and of Her other Realms and Territories, Head of the Commonwealth

  • Her Majesty Elizabeth the Second, by the Grace of God, Queen of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and of Her other Realms and Territories, Head of the Commonwealth
  • Her Majesty Elizabeth the Second, by the Grace of God, of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and of Her other Realms and Territories, Queen, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith
  • Her Majesty Elizabeth the Second, by the Grace of God, Queen of Australia and Her other Realms and Territories, Head of the Commonwealth
  • Her Majesty Elizabeth the Second, by the Grace of God Queen of New Zealand and Her Other Realms and Territories, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith
  • Her Majesty Elizabeth the Second, Queen of Papua New Guinea and of Her other Realms and Territories, Head of the Commonwealth
  • Her Majesty Elizabeth the Second, by the Grace of God, Queen of the Solomon Islands and of Her other Realms and Territories, Head of the Commonwealth
  • Her Majesty Elizabeth the Second, by the Grace of God, Queen of Tuvalu and of Her other Realms and Territories, Head of the Commonwealth

That is a lot of titles isn’t it? Those are just her more known titles. She is also the Duke of Normandy. Mhm that’s right she isn’t a duchess she is a duke. Okay enough about her titles. Let’s get into the really emotional stuff. The Queen has served the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth for 60 years.  Even before she was Queen is always put her country first. Right when she was 18 she joined the Auxiliary Territorial Service which was like a women’s branch of the British Army. She drove and fixed trucks as a mechanic. Hard to think of her as someone who could fix your car right?

Imagine a princess schooling your father on how to fix a car

She does look pretty beautiful doesn’t she? A lot of you guys here in the ACP might call her hot 😆  In 1952 she became Queen after her father King George VI died. If you watched the King’s Speech you will know him. In 1953 she was officially Queen after her coronation. I even watched it in 3D! Not at the time but the whole thing was actually filmed by someone in 3D. Hard to believe I know but I swear it is true. They gave out free 3D glasses if you went to Canada Post. IF you still do not believe me search it up on Google.

Some of you may think being the Queen is an easy job. Well its not. She almost never has a break. She has been doing this well past the usual retirement age. Attending this and that can get a bit boring sometimes as well. Although you live in a palace it still isn’t easy. Being the head of state of my country Canada, she is a very important person to me and other Canadians. Although unfortunately some Canadians meet may be republicans. But that is normal. Every good constitutional monarchy has its republicans.

To all republicans. And no I am not talking about the ones in the USA or the ones with republican views in the USA. I’m fine with you guys since your country is a republic. 😆 But to republicans that are living in Commonwealth realms, I do not care if you recognize her or not. More people do than don’t. She is still OUR Queen. I although I am disgusted by republicanism in Commonwealth realm countries, I still respect your view. Before you all think of republican thoughts and proceed to hate me as you read the post, go actually learn more about the Queen. Sometimes republicans all go say nasty stuff about her without even knowing who she is or what she has done to contribute to Canada, the UK, and the Commonwealth.

There is no need to insult the Queen just because you have a republican viewpoint. Before she is Queen she is just a nice old lady. Why must people go swear their heads off at her? That is not just insulting to the Queen but that is insulting to the country as well as 15 other countries who love her as head of state.
Even if you do not like the monarchy you still must realize she isn’t somebody who sits around and does nothing. Many republicans are very ignorant about the very thing they are against. Okay I am done ranting. Plus with the Queen you get more holidays just saying. 😆 Like Victoria Day in Canada. Psh who needs a president who’s birthday we do not even get a day off on!

I am proud to owe my allegiance to the Queen and my sister and I hang  a picture of her in our rooms. I also have a picture of George Washington and a bald eagle in my room too, weirdly. I also think Washington is a pretty good guy as well. Look I am not obsessed or anything but rather I actually take careful appreciation into what she has done and how she has contributed to my country and other countries. Making a person smile as she walks by is still something. Whether you like her or not, she is still a widely known and beloved figure but people of ALL races and cultures. A fake Queen Elizabeth II even came to China and thousands of Chinese people basically flooded and congested the streets of Shanghai all for a fake Queen Elizabeth.

The Queen although may seem like a serious person and she is, she still does ave a nice sense of humour as well when you get to know her. Other people often make jokes about her as well although they are light hearted and by no means offensive. She is also known to be “addicted” to the Nintendo Wii which Kate Middleton bought for Prince William. She now allegedly owns a gold plated one. 😆

“I should like to be a horse.”

~The Queen

When MI6 fails, it is time for Big Liz to come out

Although the Queen does not have many powers left in her realms today, it is still unfair to say she has no power. You can go read about on what the Queen can do by googling it. The Queen can still be able to veto bills, dissolve parliament, declare war (provided Parliament also approves), and other stuff. She rarely does use her powers and if she does she needs the proper justification. But that still doesn’t mean she has no power. She is still very influential. She knows the Commonwealth and the United Kingdom probably better than ANY of her prime minsters over the years. The role of the Crown is kinda to protect the democracy in the United Kingdom and the Queen does that and embodies the nation. All she gets is less than a pound from all of you for doing her job.  If politicians get too out of line she will be there.  Plus she owns all the swans around the Thames River, how cool is that?

OMG! OMG! OMG! GOD SAVE OUR MUMMY THE QUEEN!

So how did everyone enjoy their Jubilee Weekend in Britain? I hope you all had lots of fun and love and laughter to celebrate such a great woman who has done so much. Did you guys go to London to watch the Diamond Jubilee Pageant? Or go to Buckingham Palace? Maybe some of you held street parties to celebrate.  Remember you guys will probably never celebrate another Diamond Jubilee again. These things happen once in a lifetime. The last one everyone celebrated was in 1897 for Queen Victoria. I was hoping to make this post even longer but I decided not to kill your eyes with reading all this. However I would like you to read at least some of this cause I did take a lot of time to write this and put much thought into it. If you do not read it please at least watch the video below. It has a lot of the things I am trying to say.

The Queen is truly like a diamond. I will end this with something Her Majesty actually said.

“I declare before you all that my whole life, whether it be long or short, shall be devoted to your service and the service of our great imperial family to which we all belong.”

Princess Elizabeth (Later Queen Elizabeth II) , aged 21

From the time she made her promise, she has always stuck to it, right down to every single letter of every single word and I think she always will stick to it.

Happy Diamond Jubilee!
God Save the Queen!
Long To Reign Over Us!
