This post will take a look at the current and possible new method for the Medals System. This involves information, my opinion and asking your opinion. This could change the way we give out and check up on Medals, so make sure you read this post.
The medal system is based on how active you have been and how important those events were that you went to. The most important events can get you up to five medals and some things award you one medal. Here is a rough idea on how many medals are rewarded for each type of events.
- [1 Medal] = 1 Medal is given if you start your own unscheduled event or recruiting session, and you post the pictures and results on ACP “Medals” page. This is an easy way to get medals, grab a few friends and start recruiting on Mammoth! Or, if you don’t want to do that then you can enter special quizzes that may have a medal reward.
- [2 Medals] = 2 Medals is given for a normal scheduled event, whether it is a cleansing of one server, or a possible invasion of a less important server. Other events will include training or recruiting. If you attend your averaged event, you will gain 2 medals.
- [3 Medals] = 3 Medals is for VERY important event, events which were labelled promotion events fall into this category, I know a lot of you love promotions but a lot of people are being promoted too quickly.
- [5 Medals] = 5 Medals is only for the most important events. Events like a big tournament battle or an important defence or a battle for first will fall into this bracket. If we aren’t 100% sure we are going to win because of the stature of the battle it may get you five medals if we win.
- [30 Medals] = 30 medals is not something which can be given, it is something that can be achieved. If you receive 30 medals throughout the month you will be given a promotion! After each month the medals that you had achieved, all get lost, and you start afresh after a new month. The 30 medal promotions only apply to member ranks. Moderators will have an increased chance of promotion with 30 Medals.
Currently the medal system expects you to keep a tally of your total of Medals. This isn’t a very accurate or good system for various reasons. This is a rough overview of the Medal system.
I think the medal system is a decent system, but could be improved on. For example, the fact the soldiers keep count of their own medals is unreliable as a few un-loyal troops could lie to get a promotion.
We could have a page to keep track of the medals and have a “medal page system” for the owners like the Join page system. This page would be a copy of the ranks, but in brackets would be the amount of medals they have. This needs to be on a separate page to the ranks because we would have the latest events at the bottom. Then you would have a two or three day period after the event to claim your medals in comment. This would be the same for any event. A page would really help.
I also think we should award medals for bringing friends into the army (In or outside of CP). For every 5 recruits a person brings in they should get 2 medals. This would boost the amount of recruits we get and would also give people more of a chance of getting a medal. Comment what you think about my idea using the question set-up in the section bellow.

- 1 = It’s rubbish and needs changing
- 2 = It’s bad and I dislike it
- 3 = It’s ok. I’m balanced either way.
- 4 = It’s good and I like it
- 5 = It’s amazing and I want to keep it!

do something similar to the acptr medals page let the owners keep of medals not the soldiers . i work hard for my medals but i have seen many add the extra medals for a promo.

We do need to make a page, but the way you have mapped it out could be better. My idea is for every month we change the page. So fo February we only keep track of the people who earned the medals by looking at the events and update the page with who has how many medals. This than doesn’t cause much lag on the page and it’s very more organized. Once a new month begins we clear the page and start over.

I Highly dislike it.
I say no more medals. Go back to the good ol’ “comment for a promotion”. Not just because I dislike it, because people can easily lie and say “I have 30 medals” when they have 10.

Oh i know we will comment on the battle results post that we made it and the owners will put in the medals.
I’m not in any place to offer my opinion, but I don’t see why the promotion process should be complicated with medals.
I like the whole medals concept, and as a member, it certainly motivates me to be more active and come to more events. The only thing I don’t like is the fact that my medals will be wiped out at the end of the month. Then again, it makes total sense.

I don’t really want the medal system rather than disliking it. The commenting let troops go around posts, show what they’d done along with extras like patrols, unscheduled events etc. Also, some events get say 5 medals whilst the other gets 2. This could cause someone basically cheating a promotion. We wouldn’t want that now, would we? 😀
