Champions Cup Group Stages – Results!

***Warning: Lengthy post totalling over 1.8k words!  I challenge thee to read it all! Maybe even 1 medal is up for grabs if you can tell me a bit about what you’ve learnt to prove that you have read it. 😛 I will also try to post about our Quarter-Final event in more depth tomorrow, that’s if no-one steals it before I can.***

Hey ACP,

We are currently taking part in the Champions Cup, and it started off in a group format. I have already posted about the results after 1 event occurred last Sunday, and you can view it HERE. This post has the results for all of the 4 groups – A/B/C/D. There has been lots of news when there haven’t been battles taking place too, with a lot of armies seeming to “ragequit” and a mini alliance taking place to ignore CPAC. This has surely been one of the most recent exciting tournaments produced by CPAC.

On Saturday, event 2 took place for all the armies involved, and after those results 2 armies had already qualified, even if they lost the other events. That means the 3rd and final event of the group stages on Sunday decided half of the group’s 1st places and all the groups 2nd places. There were a lot of armies on tied points, and some bitterly being left out of the Quarter-Finals. I will also give you more information on the Quarter-final ties too, all that in this post!

W = Won /// D = Drew /// L = Lost /// P = Points

* = SWAT/Nachos drew on size and points, so will both be through to the next round.

Following last week, the Dark Warriors were leading the group after thrashing TG, however closely followed by SWAT, who had surprisingly beaten the Nachos to take 2nd because of size difference. After that first battle, everyone expected it to be walk in the part for the top 2 after Nachos disappointing show, and TG was never in it from the start for many. However, the results were quite different, and there were many surprises. Including a comeback from the Nachos! Event results are below.

Saturday, 17th March

  • Dark Warriors Vs SWATWinner = Dark Warriors
  • Nachos Vs Team Gold Winner: Nachos

Sunday, 18th March

  • Dark Warriors Vs NachosWinner = Nachos
  • SWAT Vs Team GoldWinner = SWAT

On Saturday was the battle between 1st and 2nd, and where Nachos could potentially make up ground. DW took the win, as many suspected, and Nachos also took the 3 points at Team Gold to take joint second, and level with SWAT. On Sunday, it was make or break time for Nachos who made this a promotion event. Despite utter frustration from DW who were angry at the poor planning to CPAC, Nachos beat DW to go level on points with them. SWAT brought up the rear with a victory at TG, leaving Team Gold with 0 points.

That left the top 3 equal on points, and after some controversy DW took 1st, followed by Nachos in 2nd and SWAT just behind in 3rd. Originally, it was 0nly the top 2 to were going through, but after much arguments, SWAT also went through to a 3 way Quarter-Final. TG left the group stages as they had entered, 0 points and with no hope. So to confirm, Dark Warriors, Nachos and SWAT made it through to the quarter-finals, leaving TG 4th.

W = Won /// D = Drew //L = Lost /// P = Points

= Despite the fact that MW and GT had the same points, MW progressed with better size difference.

Following the 1st round of events in the Group Stages, Group B had a lone leader in the form of ACP after they had beaten the Pirates to take the first 3 points of the group. MW and GT also battled it out but could only manage a draw with each other, and despite the fact that Pirates were last in the group with 0 points, it looked like they could steal 2nd after they had the best size. With the final 2 battles, it was all to fight for between 2nd-4th, so who won what?

Saturday, 17th March

  • Army of Club Penguin Vs Golden TroopsWinner = Army of Club Penguin
  • Metal Warriors Vs PiratesWinner = Metal Warriors
Sunday, 18th March
  • Army of Club Penguin Vs Metal WarriorsWinner = Army of Club Penguin
  • Golden Troops Vs PiratesWinner = Golden Troops
On Saturday, ACP took on joint second in the group, GT, and despite a poorish performance size wise for ACP, they still took their 2nd win of the campaign and tok their tally up to 6 points. Metal Warriors had something to prove against the Pirates, and did it by beating them on the battle and taking 2nd place on their own, away from the Golden Troops. That left ACP 1st, MW in 2nd and GT in 3rd, with surprisingly, Pirates last with 0 points.

The next day came, and with Pirates already out as even if they won they couldn’t beat MW’s 4 points. GT had a chance to qualify if they got good sizes, and MW could top the group if they surprised everyone with a win over ACP. Pirates couldn’t stop GT as they won their 1st event, and ACP dominated against Metal Warriors despite an encouraging performance from MW. However,  GT hadn’t done enough to make it through and lost out to size difference, with ACP in 1st taking all 9 points, and only just, MW got through to the Quarter-Finals with 4 points.

After DCP had dropped out of the tournament with a different agenda, Ninjas automatically took the first 3 points of the battle. The interesting event was between UMA and WW, where WW took a shock tie to take joint 2nd with UMA in the group, but trailing because of size wise. UMA felt they should of won, and quickly decided to no longer take part in CPAC activities/didn’t want to be involved in their top 10’s, but they still decided to finish out the tournament. Could they qualify despite the pressure?

Saturday, 17th March

  • Ninjas Vs Underground Mafias ArmyWinner = Ninjas
  • Watex Warriors Vs N/AWinner = Watex Warriors

Sunday, 18th March

  • Ninjas Vs Watex WarriorsWinner = Ninjas
  • Underground Mafias Army Vs N/AWinner = Underground Mafias Army

On Saturday, Ninjas hoped to make it a 2nd win to confirm their place in the Quarter-Finals, leaving them a comfortable battle the next day. UMA, still on 1 point, were also hoping for a victory over the Ninjas to increase their chances to qualify, but there hopes were not enough as Ninjas took their 3 points to take their amount up to 6, and qualify. WW took an automatic 3 points as they faced no-one, and leapfrogged UMA into 2nd place. WW seemed to have it all covered, with UMA trailing behind them by 3 points.

The next day, WW faced the Ninjas, with just 1 point needed to confirm their place in the next round, but it was a tough challenge to ask against the Ninjas. As expected, they couldn’t quite pull it off and Ninjas took 1st with all 3 games won, and WW were 2nd.. or were they? UMA took an automatic 3 points when they had no event, and because of size difference and the reported fact that WW had dropped out, UMA took 2nd and went through to the Quarter-Finals! Ninjas in 1st hope for an easy quarter-final match.

Following last weeks event, the Light Troops were joint 1st with the Ice Warriors, only ahead by size difference. LT had the size to dominate the battle against the Shadow Troops, and IW were lucky to have an easy event against Global Defenders who only had 1 soldier who came for their cause. ST could pull of a shock and could qualify if they won the rest of their games, but people were already counting GD as down and out.

Saturday, 17th March

  • Ice Warriors Vs Light TroopsWinner = Tie
  • Global Defenders Vs Shadow TroopsWinner = Global Defenders

Sunday, 18th March

  • Ice Warriors Vs Shadow TroopsWinner = Ice Warriors
  • Light Troops Vs Global DefendersWinner = Tie

Saturday, and there was a real juicy event ready to play. The Light Troops, currently 1st, took on 2nd who had also won their first game, the Ice Warriors. LT were the favourites, but IW managed a shock draw to stay joint 1st with LT. The next event was between GD and ST, and most thought this would be an easy win for ST over GD after their poor performance last weekend, but somehow GD managed a shock win to take 3rd – only 1 point behind  LT/IW. This meant ST was already out, and that if GD could pull of a win against LT, they would be going through to the Quarter-Finals.

First of all, the Ice Warriors beat the Shadow Troops, although it was a pretty low-key battle with both sides not getting very much soldiers, but the attention wasn’t on that game, it was on the LT Vs GD battle. Before the battle, most people thought that LT would make this a walk in the park, however reports came that they had decided to leave the competition. Such reports weren’t true, or if they were, they rejoined and had 5 minutes to logon and fight GD. Both sides had equal sizes, and GD bitterly only got a draw, sending them home. 1st was IW, followed by LT in 2nd.

After 12 battles and 16 armies there are only 9 left for the Quarter-Finals

  • QF1 Ninjas Vs Nachos
  • QF2 Army of Club Penguin Vs Light Troops
  • QF3Ice Warriors Vs Metal Warriors Vs SWAT
  • QF4 – Dark Warriors Vs Undergound Mafias Army

The winners of these battles will then fight in the Semi-Final’s below.

  • SF1 Dark Warriors/Underground Mafias Army Vs Army of Club Penguin/Light Troops
  • SF2Ninjas/Nachos Vs Ice Warriors/Metal Warriors/SWAT

Then finally, the winner of those 2 battles will play in a 1 on 1 final.

As you can see for our next battle, we will be taking part in Quarter-Final 2, against the Light Troops. We have been against this army recently in a war, and it was very close at some battles. They have started to perform well again, but so have we. We cannot underestimate them, and I think it’s karma biting back at us. 😆 We were drawn with the easiest group, so now we have, what I think, is the hardest Quarter-Final.

However, if we get past, it’s not plain-sailing from then on either, we will most likely face the Dark Warriors who have been reaching 3rd recently and aren’t close behind 2nd, it will be interesting to see how we can do against them, and that’s just if we can progress in the first place! I know that we have got it in us to reach the final, despite with hard battles facing us from now on. We will just have to train hard and fight hard to make sure that we win what will surely be an exciting event.

Comment if you actually read all of this, and whether YOU think we can get to the Final!

  7. But this post is so long…

  8. I think IW, Ninjas, DW, and ACP will make it the the semi finals and if Ninjas and IW tie (with I hope they do) then it will be the LC2 all over again because it would be ACP vs Ninjas vs IW

  9. What are the odds, ACP vs. LT *wary*

  10. Thankfully I read it, because I was completely confused about the format of the tournament. Now it makes total sense.

  11. read the whole thing – i have one question. When Ice Warriors, Metal Warriors, and SWAT go up against each other, will there be one winner or two?

  12. well flipper imma be honest here no i didnt read it ( it will be used as an excuse to stay up late) but i did learn from it. By far DW will be the hardest, but we do have a chance. Also SWAT and MW did far better than i thought and i massivly under estimated them. Our QF with LT will be fun considering recent events . ( note to self : you will read this properly ) P.S shouldnt this type of post be on cpac as well (wary)

  13. I passed Flip’s quiz for +1 medal

  14. I memorized those rankings and points just for a medal.

Flipper Y u no make short?

  19. You make the tournament make much more sense then CPAC does.

  20. I read it and if we get enough people and do the tactics right we have a good chance of winning.

  21. Well, we finnaly get to beat LT (I gave them nicknames. They are Little Tooties, Little Toddlers, and Little Tootie Toddlers!!) again! In my opinion right now, LT are just another army we can prove to that we are the best. I read the whole post so +1 medal! and, at first, the format didn’t make sense to me. So thanks for FINNALY making that make sense to me! 😀

  22. i cant wait to crush LT and win this tournament

  23. Die LT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  24. You know, i’m not sure why i read this; this took up like 10 min. of my life. Gimme those minutes back…..
i guessed i passed the quiz
and i also get 1 medal.
BTW, i’m sure we’ll get to the finals. To me the competition looks pretty easy.

  25. I learned that Acp is AWESOME oh wait I already knew that…………………..Medal pleeeeease..

  26. COME ON!! :@ WHY ARE MY COMMENTS ALWAYS AWAITING MODERATAION WHEN I LEAST EXPECT IT??!! :@ +1medal for me anyway

  27. I just finished reading it all. What I found interesting is the presence of newer talent in all this. UMA ended up drawing with the Watex Warriors, who are both a newer army and a smaller one. SWAT has been doing excellent lately, and they’re a newer addition to the top ten, while the Metal Warriors are also stepping it up. Meanwhile, the older armies are shrinking: I’ve noticed UMA growing more and more inactive as of late, while the Nachos are losing their edge. All in all, this tournament really goes to show how newer armies are becoming more and more dominant.

One medal for me, I guess. 🙂

  28. none of you said 1 th soo 1 th!!! lol

  29. MY PENGUIN NAME IS NORA6024 AND I BELIVE THAT WE CAN GET TO THE FINAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😀
