Army of Club Penguin

Hey ACP, 

A few updates that will be occurring over the next few weeks, including action against SOPA, some interesting news with the Generals, and a challenge for an army.

1. Stop SOPA

As a few of you may have heard, there is this new thing cropping up called SOPA. SOPA stands for Stop Online Piracy Act, and it could create devastating after effects if it is passed. SOPA is an American bill, so a lot of you may be thinking it has nothing to do with you, but if America passes, many other nations will follow. You may also think that we are young, but the internet is like a second home to many of us, and everything we enjoy could be taken away. We shape the future of the world.

SOPA basically allows the government to take down websites they believe has copyrighted material, or even links to copyrighted material. If comments on your website has copyrighted material, you could also be shut down for that. It is very unlikely it will affect CP Armies, but it could affect YouTube, Wikipedia, etc.

Shaboomboom/Boomer approached the ACP leaders and CPAC heads yesterday, about a kind of ‘online protest’ where sites are shut down for a day, to be specific, Wednesday, 18th January. We didn’t really take to the idea of shutting the site down, but eventually us and CPAC agreed to make it a kind of ‘Stop SOPA’ day. Our header will be changed to an anti-sopa one to show awareness, and our great leader Boomer20 will be making a post about why we should prevent SOPA in more depth.

A lot of websites are considering taking part in this protest, including Wikipedia, Reddit, and big games such as Minecraft are also taking down their website for a day. We ask other armies to do the same if you wish, but it’s entirely up to you. Comment on whether you think this is a good move for ACP, or not.

2. Generals

Following an interesting post by Icey Cold27, the idea of General’s posting became an idea. He came up with the idea with Ironhide24, and I thought it was a great idea, here is the original paragraph where he explains:

I propose that the generals of ACP should earn the spot to be on this site, as contributors.  Our five generals are 12Declan12, Asdfghjkl888, Foxtails, Kingfunks4, and Stew20.  Not only are they the future of ACP, but they also probably hold many beautiful ideas that can grow into something bigger than imagined. We could make a posting schedule for all five to follow, allowing one post a week from each one.  For example, we could start off the week with Foxtails then next week Kingfunks4 would get to post.  It’s quite simple actually.

After many thoughts, the leaders have come to agree with this idea. However, we are changing it slightly to benefit the generals even better. All 5 will be added to the site, and will be asked to post once a week, on their specific day. It could be a weekly thing they are doing, or maybe just news that’s going down. The rules, one post a week, and, it’s just got to be epic! It will be done in alphabetical order, like below:

• Monday – 12declan12
• Tuesday – Asdfghjkl888
• Wednesday – Foxtails
• Thursday – Kingfunks4
• Friday – Stew20

This will start next week, so they have a week to plan what they would like to post about, and I’m sure with our current problem of lack of posts these guys could fill up the hole. Please stick to your day, and if you could comment we can extract your emails from your comments and add you onto the site.

3. [KK] Armies

If you’re not aware yet, we won the Sleet Showdown yesterday, proving we are truly the number 1 army when fighting others. However, the fight is not truly over. You may remember the fact that I said we may have another round against the Ice Warriors, as we rarely got to fight them, and I think we would like to have a second round. Don’t forget, promotions will be here soon for our battle yesterday, comment if you made it HERE or you will miss out on your promotion!

There have been many disputes over the servers we have laid claims to, many of them recently with the Ice Warriors. I’d like to invite them to a kind of ‘winner takes all’ battle for the servers we think we both own, for fun, of course!

The Klondike Klash! It will hopefully be scheduled for Saturday, but I still have to ask the Ice Warriors as a kind of ‘re-match’ of the Sleet Showdown. I don’t want there to be hate to each other just because we might be on different sides.

We hope the Ice Warriors accept this challenge, as we try to prove that we are the best army in Club Penguin and that green is the best colour, by far. War should be coming soon, with the army you automatically think when you hear the word “enemy”, and no, it’s not the Light Troops. 😆
