Army of Club Penguin

Hey ACP and non ACP alike,

You know, last night, I got thinking. We’ve had a number of major enemies throughout our existence. The Romans. UMA. The Nachos. The Night Warriors. The Light Troops. The Ice Warriors. Some would call these armies our rivals throughout the years. But who, of course, was the greatest army we ever went to battle with?

To start with, we have the Romans. The ACP faced off against the Romans shortly after our creation, and the ensuing war that came out of it is known today as WWII. The Romans are known today as being one of ACP’s first enemies, as well as the first “major” power on Club Penguin. Since then, they have declined and are no longer found on a major army status, but their importance to the development of armies should not ever be forgotten.

Next, the ACP faced off with the UMA in the dramatic sequence of fighting known as WWIII. The UMA, created by Pink Mafias, was arguably the greatest army ever at its prime. At the height of their power, no army could compare to UMA in size in strength. Pink Mafias and Compwiz5000 were the key to their power. Those two people are two of the greatest army minds ever to set foot on Club Penguin. WWIII, in my opinion, was the greatest war of all time. Only through the help of a key ally (RPF) did ACP gain the ability to even hope of matching UMA, and their eventual defeat is one of the most pivotal moments in army history.  But, were they as powerful as the next army, one who continually challenged ACP as the top army on Club Penguin day in and day out in 2009?

The Nachos. Late 2008 until the summer of 2009. I joined ACP in December 2008. At the time, there was a huge controversy between these two armies. The Winter Fiesta had just happened, and there were loads of penguins running around wearing what was essentially the Nacho uniform. These groups of penguins, who would eventually come to consider themselves Nachos, were known as RN, or Rouge Nachos. While not officially in the Nachos, they did think they were, and could be found on ACP’s servers a lot. Many arguments ensued between the leadership of the two armies, but with time, the problem went away. The rivalry, however, was just beginning. 2009 saw armies gain sizes that have been unheard of, and the leaders in size were ACP and the Nachos. Both were very capable of producing 60+ soldiers in every battle they fought, and were just as capable in getting nearly 40 with unscheduled events. The combined size of the two armies made it nearly impossible for them to effectively fight each other, which is always a bummer, but the sizes were impressive. Not only that, but the Nachos had two of their finest leaders ever at the helm of their army. Person1233 and Akabob22, arguably the two greatest Nachos ever, were just as loved and celebrated by their army as Boomer 20 was to ACP at the time. With mind blowing posting abilities and a strong hatred of our army, Person and Akabob put the Nachos in a position of rivalry with the ACP for the majority of 2009. It was only until Person retired in the summer of that year that the ACP started to pull away. During the eight or nine month period of this rivalry, numerous wars were declared and nearly all of them ceased within two weeks, although one would start up again very shortly afterwards. The effects of the pure hatred of this rivalry have been felt until recently, as the Nachos and ACP only really became friendly with each other in 2011. Surely, their rivalry in 2009 will go down as one of the greatest ever.

I find it disappointing that nobody really remembers this next army. The Night Warriors, were, for maybe three or four months, the most formidable army on Club Penguin. Next to ACP, nobody wanted to fight them, and they weren’t afraid to fight anybody. Including us. Strong leadership from Vendetta produced a large, tactical army that at the same time were relatively mysterious. One of the longest lasting wars in recent history was that of between the ACP and the NW, in early 2011. If I’m correct, the war lasted for over a month, something pretty rare in armies nowadays. It was very similar to the Nacho/ACP rivalry, with hatred on both sides very evident. The Night Warriors have since all but died out, but their time spent as a major player on the army spectrum gives them a very notable space in this post.

Next, we have the Ice Warriors. They’re an interesting army to include in this post, because they’ve spent a lot of time bouncing back and forth from being our enemy and our “ally”. On more than a few occasions there has been bad blood between us (I think there was a couple instances where they were involved with “hacking” groups) but for the most part, their time spent as our enemy has been on the side of major alliances conceived by the Nachos and other armies, only to see them fall apart with a key armies’ withdrawal. That army was the IW more often than not. Of course, they’ve had their rises and their falls, but they’re one of those armies that have withstood the tests of time. You can say what you like about Iceyfeet1234, but he’s held them together since 2007 and still makes them who they are (currently they are very capable of matching us and beating us in size and strength). But are they really a rival?

Finally, we have an army that is a bit newer to the list of our enemies. The Light Troops aren’t a lot of things, but they definitely are a successful army. Although they appear to refuse to fight us right now, they definitely have an anti-ACP inclination, one that the leadership of Kenneth1000 and Flipper7706 have taken offense to on quite a few occasions. Whatever the LT’s reasoning behind not fighting us are, I know that they are capable of beating any army, although they downplay their true strength a bit. There is not much military action between us and the LT, but the pure dislike of each other that we have come to know is more than enough to consider them a great rival.

But, who do the current readers of this website think are our greatest rivals ever? Ask anyone that was in the Nachos or ACP during 2009 about our rivalry and they’ll tell you: it was crazy. I want input from you guys though, just to see what you may think about it.
