Memorial Day is a holiday for the United States. We have no school (for the ones still in school), many of our parents have the day off from work. There are usually parades in the morning but who knows the reason for this holiday?

Memorial Day commemorates U.S. soldiers who died while in the military. First started to honor soldiers in the Civil War, it was expanded after WWI. “The National Memorial Day Concert takes place on the west lawn of the United States Capitol. The concert is broadcast on PBS and NPR. Music is performed, and respect is paid to the men and women who gave their lives for their country.”

Have a fun day off from school and remember the people that died to protect you and the land that you live on. I hope that we can all agree to hold a cease fire for today.

    I salute all of our fellow Americans who fight and sometimes even die for us on the battlefield to preserve freedom. Freedom doesn’t come free, it costs the life of many young men and women everyday. Those brave people deserve this holiday. These people are true heroes.

    I’m not American, but we do the same thing on Remembrance Day on the 11th of Novemember in England, I have to do a parade, so I know what it’s like.

    Ya, twingy, we have veterans day on november 11th. We also have labor day in September for I think the same sort of thing.

    13th XD anyways I have an idea. Every memorial day we should do a march on CP to remember the fallen, not in the US army but also for the armies around the world. It would not be fair if it was just for the US. If any owners would like this idea you can PC me for questions, we could have parades for other events like 4th of July and stuff like that.

    Happy Memorial Day to alland I honor those who have risked their lives so that we could enjoy having a safe and happy life. I say this because I know that not all places are as fortunate as we are.
