Dryvit: We had 28 new recruits in one day, 23 another, 13 on a week day. Chat is always full. I am not to sure of the point to this post, but the parts calling ACP lazy is a bit much. I would expect ex leaders, much like ex Presidents to be respectful to the ones they once led. It is very easy as you prove to show the bad, but not easy to find the answer. If it was that clear, you would have posted it in big bold type instead of using that for calling us lazy. The answer ACP seeks will arrive Tuesday. We must be patient, for Tuesday all will be revealed to the masses of ACP and beyond. Wear your dancing shoes, cuz we will be dancing in the streets!!!
If you’re too lazy to read this, at least look at the graphs with the descending lines, and you’ll know that something is wrong. As for fixing it, you need to read it…
As much as it pains me to break my perfect total of 200 posts, something needs to be said. Armies are falling, ACP included, and everyone is looking for a quick fix. Sorry to tell you this, but there is no quick fix, no elevator back to the top, and no one seems to be willing (or perhaps they are just unsure how) to do the hard work that is necessary. Most of those who think they know how to fix armies are wrong, otherwise someone would have fixed it by now. If you want to know how I turned ACP into an army with 60-80 soldiers at every battle, you can come find me and hope we have a few hours.
I was planning to make an extremely long post on exactly why armies are falling and how to fix them, but in my retirement I find that I am much too lazy, much like most of the soldiers reading this. That’s right, I’m calling you out. Let’s face it, even if I did give you an outline of how to do it, most leaders either wouldn’t read it or wouldn’t want to put in the work necessary to fix the problem. For this reason, I choose to focus solely on ACP’s current situation and what we must do to dig ourselves out.
Where we are right now is in a false state of comfort, that everything is going well (this goes for all armies). However, there are danger signs making themselves more prominent by the week.
It would seem by looking at our hits totals that we are doing fine (still over 100,000 hits a month). They are decreasing, but not to the point where we should panic, necessarily…
Total Hits:
As a note, I took over at the end of November and retired at the beginning of June. Every month I was leader, our hits increased over the previous month with the exception of May when we got tangled up in a war with the Nachos. We got a slight boost in hits between June and May (as was expected due to summer), but remarkably the hits dropped for the rest of the summer despite the fact that everyone was out of school. Please note that the September 2009 total is a projection based on how many hits per day we’ve had so far. There is a dramatic falloff now that we don’t have the summer to keep us afloat anymore.
The real problem lies hidden beneath these totals however, as I noticed by looking at what I always viewed as a better measurement of success: views of the Join page. This signifies how many recruits are finding our site. Here is the average number of page views of the Join page dating back as far as we have statistics, and you will get a better sense of the problems we face.

Our hits were pretty decent when I was leader compared to the months prior, but they’ve been dropping since then. It doesn’t seem like such a big issue except that during the summer, everyone is home, so those hits should have been higher than they were during the school year. The fact that they were lower means the issue is probably more severe than the statistics indicate. Currently, we’ve been getting an average of 102 hits per day, about half of what we had in April and almost as low as November when we had all those issues…
Here is a graph of the chat page, which gives a better sense of how many soldiers we have in general than does pure hits, which include soldiers from other armies.

Since the peak in May (498 views per day), the hits have dropped to 262 this month, around where we were in December/January.
This is the scariest statistic, due to the fact that you need recruits for the army to grow, and (along with the fact we’re shrinking) you can see our Google Searches are way down from a few months ago. They’re coming back a little, but we’re talking about less than half the number we used to get in March-May when we were at our peak. Note, the numbers is the average number of Google Searches per weekend (per month).

Most or all of these problems can be fixed with one thing: activeness. When Oagal was leader, we were on Club Penguin all the time. Now most of us go on once every 2 weeks. Co-Leaders, 3rd in Commands, and Generals should get everyone together to go on Club Penguin as soon as they get on. It can be for patrolling or recruiting or go to Mammoth and just fight someone, but we’re losing recognition (and Google Searches) because no one sees us on Club Penguin anymore. Instead of trying to schedule practices with other armies, we need to have more recruiting sessions and practice sessions with just ACP to see how many soldiers we have left and to work on tactics. No one seems to know what’s going on during battles anymore. I can give the leaders more detailed instructions if they want to ask me, but to write it all out here when most soldiers don’t need to see it seems unecessary. Just make sure you get on Club Penguin regularly without being told. It is your duty as a soldier to serve your army, not just sit on chat all day and then complain about not getting promoted. If we don’t get on Club Penguin and recruit, we’ll have the same problem as RPF where all their soldiers are old and don’t want to work hard anymore. I built ACP around recruits when I was leader because they have the best work ethic. You can’t argue with the results I got. It’s on you, the soldiers, to make ACP the best army it can be, so get to work.

Great post Boomer! I always go on CP atleast everday to recruit with either Chase50 or Danny9632. But it ends up with me going on CP twice a day since Chase and Danny are usaully on at different times.

Boomer: War is not a quick fix, it only works when you use it in addition to activeness (recruiting, patrolling, etc.). We’ve had plenty of wars throughout the armies in the past few months, but in case you hadn’t noticed, everyone is still falling. The ACP vs. Nachos war hurt both armies, not helped. If there was a quick fix, someone would have fixed it by now. Like I said, people think they know, but they don’t have a clue…

I think either people have a lot of home work, no computers, or maybe they like other sites and games better. thats just an idea but maybe poeple might join, or have more veiws if we do some “fun” things. I think we are doing fine now but some others might be bored or somthing. im not sure. why dont we do something like a membership drawing, or some scavenger hunt. they can win some thingys…but hey its just an idea.. email me if you think of it. or not.. i dont care. um yea i shouldnt be talking about this because im only a Lt.Colonel…

I think I can supply an awnser for the question involving why hits dropped later on in the summer so here it is:
When we finish up the last day of school the first full weeks people are planning vacations and staying at home. Thus giving us more time to veiw the ACP site. BUT then later on in the summer people are going on vacations, getting outside, inviting freinds over, etc. And the more people are busy with all that stuff they don’t have enough time to get on the ACP site.

… Boomeh, you sounded like a hypocrite there, but however I agree with you. I’ve been on CP about 2 or 3 times in the past month, one of them being when I logged onto ACP chat and Enn was commanding us to go on Fjord, where a huge amount of people showed up to CP, even though it was almost 9 PM Central. I think there is a simple solution, Boomer. COME BACK AS LEADER. With all due respect to Dryvit, he’s actually doing a great job, but Boomer, you were the person who scheduled so many things on CP, and everyone came, and it was great. You NEED to come back.
I usually don’t come to CP events, and it isn’t my fault. All events are scheduled on weekends, which IS good, but it’s because I go places on weekend. I have a life. CP vs life? Life FTW.

I think there is no fix to it! I have to disagree with you Boomer when i say that ACP is just not what it used to be. I heard some ACP soldiers live on Club Penguin saying they were “sick of this game.” If there is a fix its that u gotta show them that this is not a game!

Boomer I quite enjoyed reading this post but I have a something to add to this; I believe that new recruits and less experienced soldiers are being driven away due to the rudeness that is often presented by the higher ranks and especially the retired soldiers. Often times the soldiers will just get ignored but also lots I’ve seen things being said somewhat like “Shut Up N00b” or “Nobody asked you” And of course no eight nine or ten year old OR even a twelve year old or thirteen year old wants to be judged and told he is worthless… just putting that out there.
Boomer: I agree, I hate seeing new recruits come on chat and ask where we are on Club Penguin (where we should be), and they get kicked for being a n00b or ignored. They’re the one’s with the right idea…
I agree with boomer and maxthepen COMPLETELY!!!!!!!!!! I also have a nice name for this whole “getting less active during the summer thing.” I think we should call this ACP’s Great Depression. And, Great post boomer! (i wish you could be our leader again! you could help us out of this depression sooner)
Once again, another great speech from boomer. Even in his retirement, he still trys to fix everything 😛 However, he does make a good point. People these days, especially people from Oagals days, just complain that nothing is like when Oagal was here. Nobody is truely active, as the definition of active these days is being on chat alot. The leaders arent even encouraging going on CP. Nobody is active, and we need something to do. People are retiring because they are bored. I have an idea, but it is extremely unlikely it will ever come true. It may even sound nooby. If all the olden days leaders came back, like Oagalthorp, Pink Mafias, whoever used to lead the nachos XD Commando, all the original leaders came back and had one war. A giant war. Wars every day, no cease fires, so EVERYONE would be on CP at ALL times, fighting their butts off. I know this idea could never come true, because some of these people are way too old, but its just an idea.

I think school has a lot to do with this at earliest i dont get home till 6:30 I have to wake up at 6 get out of the house by 7 and be at school by 8:30 then school get out at 3 but my mom doesnt get off work till 5 then she gets me at 5:30 then i have to do homework when i get home at ^:30 then by the time im done its time for dinner then after that bed

As it sees, ACP (as Greeniedud1 said) is falling into a depression. “Falling into the arms of sorrow” seems like a better way to put it. Tisk, its all about xats and powers these days. i’m glad to see Nono ignoring these money wasting xats 😀 and I also dont care about them. Many reasons, not many solutions. But I’m sure, if you let the people speak their mind, I’m sure they’ll end up with something good, and usefull, instead of these unimportant things. Its sad to see the new generation become a waste… If the leaders could actualy listen to what I have to say, maybe my ideas and suggestions will work… Instead of someone saying “Shut up and retire already, Hatt” . And you know who 🙄

All I know is that I joined ACP when I was on Mammoth and I saw these two big groups of green guys and mexicans fighting.I fought as an ACp soldier and after that day I started leading big groups of ACP sopldiers around Mammoth.Then I found the AXCP site and joined on January 25th 2009.
We need to combine activeness with war,have a limited ammount of allies;no more than 5 of each category,school dosent have to do with it because we were starting to grow lazy around july.Shcool is responsible for part of this but not for all of it.
Muy way to solve thing would be to be active,start a war,have less allies,about 1 more Majors,5 mediuom,and 5 small,the indicated ammount of armies that offer the best support could be added to the allies list.
ur now just realizing that ur falling all the other armies in their chats when ACP comes up theirs one thing that comes up with it their falling cause u post things about a movie and the rest of the posts are retirements and the reason why Oagal was so active was because he made ACP’s capitol Mammoth the war server maybe we should stop with these tournaments and practice battles and get back to what Cp armies is about war invade Mammoth again sure u’ll lose recruits cause not everyone is a member but that will encourage ppl to get memberships so they can get on and during the golden ages Mammoth was still usually full but we managed to make it a war server it’s not because Mammoth is full that no army wants to go on it’s because no army has been invading mammoth in so long that they just dont want too anymore and dont say because of Ninja noobs theirs always noobs invade Mammoth it’s the first step to fixing CP armies

The war were so much fun back then and now their not the same and i dont know any ways we could all make it better right now. Once i noticed the other day when i was having a pb on my other army it was really fun cuz it was small and, Now when we have pb’s that are huge and we just do the same stuff over and over. CHarge regruop,charge regroup, CHarge regroup. theres all these charges and stuff but a long time ago there was only snowball throwing and for some reason that was so much fun. Plus back a while ago the battles werent like 30 mins theyd go on for hours sometimes, not just 30 mins. Plus when we have battles theres not really a cause.

Yes, I do see. It was all because of lazy leadership really, but some people are different. Boomer heavily enjoyed leadership whilst Saint heavily hated it. Dryvit has probably made views rise by a reasonably percentage, but not as much as the “ACP golden age” in Boomers era. But what you guys need to do is have a meeting.
I suggest hardcore recruiting. You go on a server every night, same time, every night except saturdays and sundays. The club penguin people who do not join will get familiar with the presence of acap on that server, and although many server hop, many don’t. You could make some lyal recruits there. That was, in my opinion, the soul problem of mass recruiting. So IW tripled in size but if they’d done it on the server IW were most often on they would have got more. I guess.
Anyway, Boomer, after this meeting the failing army posts must stop. They are failing, yes, but Saint has a fun idea, KT has the battl of the underground and the size of armies dosn’t really worry us to much.
On the whole, if were having fun then we’ll be alright, whatever the size.

we have the right to blame the chat going down on school. the chat is dead from 7:00 AM to like 3:00 PM. also so many people retire because the average age of ppl on CP armies is like 13. but great post boomer something does have to be done.
