To start off, I would like to wish a happy birthday to Noka.
Today, September 11, 2009, is the eighth anniversary of a very bad terrorist attack. There were many attacks. One was on the Pentagon in Washington D.C. This hijacked plane managed to hit the building, although it has now been repaired.
The second hijacked plane crashed in a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. Authorities verified that the plane was headed for Washington D.C. It is not known which building would have been attacked-the Capitol Building, the White House, or another building.
Two more hijacked planes hit their targets in New York City, where I live. The first hit the World Trade Center 1 building. It hit the top floors of the building, starting a huge fire, smoke going throughout the building. After about 17 minutes, a second hijacked plane hit the World Trade Center 7 building. It hit at around the lower to middle area of the building, also causing a huge fire with smoke going throughout the building. By now, the street and block were covered with smoke. Black smoke could be seen coming from Manhattan’s direction for miles. Around 3 minutes after the World Trade Center 7 building was hit by the second hijacked plane, the World Trade Center 1 building collapsed. Later on, so did the World Trade Center 7 building.
This terrorist attack was planned by the terrorist organization known as “Al-Queda.” Now it is the 8th year anniversary of this terrible day. This day will be, in Ted Roosevelt’s words, infamous forever. This means that this day will be known forever for something bad, just like December 7th, the day of the attack on Pearl Harbor.
Today, 9/11/2009, I write this post, commemorating all who died in the terrorist attacks, all who were injured in these attacks, and all who’s family was hurt by an injury or death from these attacks. Please take a moment of silence, remembering all who died or were injured, all who were effected, and the World Trade Center, also known as the “Twin Towers.”
On this day, I recall what I saw in my kindergarten class.
After the ground shook, and a tremendous boom was heard, my class looked out the window from our classroom window. All we saw was a good amount of black smoke. 17 minutes later, the smoke increased, the ground shook, and another loud “ka-boom” was heard. Although, in between these 17 minutes, my principal ran room to room, talking to the teachers and only the teachers. As she came running into my classroom out of breath, even us 5 year-olds could tell that something was wrong. My teacher gasped, and started to cry.
20 minutes after the first time the ground shook, the ground shook again, and some smoke increased then vanished. A little while after, this happened again, and eventually nearly all of the black smoke disappeared. The principal came back in, and this time talked to us, the children. Her question was simple. “Do any of you have relatives in the Twin Towers?” she asked. A few raised their hands. After that day, I have never seen them-they most likely moved. School ended early, and the next day, school remained closed. That night, my parents told me and my twin brother of the bad news-the Twin Towers had been destroyed.
Although this was my day, it was not my sister’s. As she recalls it, she was a senior in middle school-a normal 8th grader getting used to school after the summer, and getting used to her new teachers. When the first boom went off, the children were confused, as were the teachers. A weird code was heard over the speakers, obviously to the school staff. The teachers then locked all of the doors, closed all of the windows, and waited. 15 minutes later, they moved to a different classroom, and again locked the doors. This repeated many times. Then, her school, which is now my middle school, closed for that day and the next day.
These are only two accounts of the day September 11, 2001. Many people have different stories, none of which were happy.
Now, 8 years after the attack, 8 years after my sister was in 8th grade, my twin brother and I are in 8th grade.
My principal spoke 10 words about this being the anniversary of the terrorist attacks, then changed the subject. There was no moment of silence, which all of the teachers and students found weird-so we had our own moment of silence after the principal stopped talking over the loud-speaker.
This infamous day, maybe even more infamous than December 7th, the anniversary of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii which started World War II, was 8 years earlier than today. Today, after watching the news, I have found out that 4 members of the terrorist Taliban group were arrested by Pakistan-a sign that both West and East are now going against terrorism. This is a very good sign. You see, many believe that the Taliban were going to try to overthrow the Afghanistan and Pakistan governments-gaining control of nuclear, or atomic, weaponry. This would signal World War III, maybe even the end of the world because of the nuclear bomb use. This arrest of 4 Taliban members shows that everything will be ok. We are not yet going into The Nuclear War (World War III), or the end of the world.
The 7 WTC building was completed in 2006. The 1 WTC building has now started construction. It will be 1776 feet tall.
Today, I won’t put my title.

We should all remember what happened on that day 🙁
yea ik
I don’t remember it well, but I know that it was a very sad day for everyone.
The fact that I live in a place that’s a target to terrorists (Pennsylvania) is scary. It’s sad that so many people died, but the fact that they risked their lives for this country will never be forgotten. A while ago, I saw a video of the twin towers, and I cried, just thinking about all the people’s families.
i was only 4 when that happened 🙁 and todays my friends b day also
Great Post
I was only five when i happened :l My principal didn’t even mention the anniversary
I live in PA too. I marched in a parade today because, my father had went away for a year in Iraq when I was 6, and he came back the next year. I am proud of my father, my country. I have words for you. Anyone who is affected by this, or it just makes you depressed, do not worry. We cannot let this bring us down ! We are united, we live together as brothers and sisters, WE ARE ONE ! “The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.”- FDR (franklin roosevelt) My favorite president. Do not let this bring you down, because we will all rise as brothers and sisters.
i was only 4. i didnt know wat was happening. but when they told me a year later i then found out
I watched so many shows on History chanel today. That channel is my favorite, because my Dad and me like to watch shows about the misitary, and all the other branches. But today, it was about this Terrorist attack. I watched them, there were heroes, victims, and families. But this event brought us together as brotthers and sisters. Here is a quote. “They went there as strangers, and came back as brothers.”
Even though the terrorists are terrible, you must love your enemy.
I was 5 when that happend…so sad 🙁
i was 1 when it happened. 5 years later my dad told me about it. I have 2 picture books. Anyways are you from New York. And my unofficial army is going on cp at 6:00 CPST. We are going in all black and lining up like the twin towers
i remember when my family used to take our yearly trips to NYC cuz my uncle lives there. My grandma decided we should all go to twin tower memorial. When we got there there was a huge croud and infront of that croud was a HUGE bulllitne board. On the board were thousands of small pictures and that was one of my sadest days in my life.
it was very sad
Living in suburban New Jersey, I was pretty hard hit by 9/11
I had just turned 5, and it was my… I think 2nd day of Kindergarten…
My Dad was driving me, and quickly the ride was done, I was at school.
About 10 minutes after I arrived, The teachers began whispering among each other… about 10 more minutes after that, we were signaled to sit in a corner. (It was a 1-room schoolhouse, and when the teachers talked, we listened. I had never seen so many adult faces so horrified, and so shocked.
My Uncle Joey was to go to the WTC Building 1, top floor, to take a job exam. Thank the Lord Almighty, he contracted the flu virus, he had to stay home.
If it wasnt for influenza, my Uncle would be dead.
One of my best friends in my life are twins, named Casey and Jamie.
Their father worked in WTC 1.
Again, Thank the Almighty, a sudden voice in his head said: “Don’t go! Go back home!”
He lives today.
My piano teacher, Marietta, had a cousin.
He worked in the Pentagon, coincidentally on the side and level where the plane struck.
The Pentagon has five sides, and five rows inside the office building.
and then…
His wife and mother watched in terror as the Pentagon was badly damaged.
Right where their most loved had worked.
He had two children.
He still has two children.
His office was in need of a paint job, so he had to be moved for the day a few halls down.
He was not in the impact zone.
Praise Yahweh.
One of my Uncle Anthony’s best friends was in the Twin Towers when the flights struck.
She disintegrated when the Tower collapsed.
Anthony gave the tearful eulogy at her funeral.
Rest in Peace.
The most horrible part is, these terrorists thought that when they were killed…
They would be sent to heaven
Disgusting.
We will never forget!

nice post enn and actually the japanese started world war 2 between US and them
My 9/11 story.
I walked down stairs to my mom jumping around the kitchen screaming. It was right after the first plane had hit the first tower. I started laughing, I had no clue what was going on and as a little kid it was funny to see my mom “going crazy.”
I was watching the smoking first tower on TV when suddenly, a second plane slammed into the next tower. The TV and phones all went dead.
Right after this, fighter planes flew just about 100 feet above my house. When the TVs did finnaly came back on there where only about 5 channels. I distintivly remember watching Dora The Explorer at 9:00 o’clock at night, it was one of the the only things on.
And though I didn’t undertand it at the time, that was my 9/11. We had a moment of silence in school today and my teacher made a moving speech about the events. Now that I do understand the horrors of what happened, I always remember the people who lost their lives today.
Never will we forget.

Wow, Ennbay, you are a really good speech-writer. You left me speechless. After I read your post the first time, I read it again, and then again, and then I read it out loud to my parents and sister, and wow, they were amazed. My dad is writing a book, and he said you can write 10 times better than him. And this is my dad I am talking about. My dad, who is fast to criticize and slow to compliment. I also didn’t know you lived in New York City, so I didn’t know how hard 9/11 had hit you. I have a little story of my own to tell, just my experience of 9/11. Ok, so I was not even 4 yet, and I was in daycare. So my sister was in kindergarten and she comes into the daycare after school, and asks the teachers if she could talk to me, and so she told me that a airplane crashed into the twin towers, (i was fascinated with them at that time) and a lot of people died.
I was starting preschool on that exact day. After my mom say on the news, we didnt leave the house for the rest of the day. My the people killed there Rest in Peace.
WOW! You guys have all those cool stories of what happened to you on 9/11. I wish i was there, but i was 3 and i cant remember plus i lived in california so i wasent even CLOSE to the attacks. But since im in california im very far away from the main Al Queda targets near DC. But im so sorry that those things happened to people you know Nosey cjr.
I remember the day pretty clearly as well. Living 40-50 miles from NYC, I didn’t witness anything from the actual attack, and being 7, I didn’t really have much of a clue how big of a deal it was that terrorists were murdering innocent Americans on US soil. Wait.. Uhh nvm. That school day was normal except for half the students leaving early because of possibly dead/missing relatives :\ Horrible day.
The US mourned, the rest of the world who believe all the American sterotypes laughed <.<
I don’t live in America, But I Do remember clearly seeing the full Terrorist attack on TV. It was the only thing on..I was 4, Not understanding much though. But when I grew older, I saw the attacks again, and again on TV on 9/11. I am truly sorry to those who lost their loved ones on 9/11. But the wrost Part is my school didn’t even mention it once :/
Word count: 911
LMAO
so sad 🙁
RIP Flight 93, Flight 11, Flight 175, Flight 77.
heres what i think we should do if it happends again. i say we do what japan did to us in 1941. we take about a dozen bombers and we level there home land they srender and we go home and pick up the peaces of what was left. after we help patch things up where we bombed at.
Pearl Harbor bombing didn’t start WWII and the terrorist attacks weren’t caused by Al Quaeda.
my dad used to work in the building right next to the twin towers luckily he was still on the train when the first plane hit the north tower (it stayed up the longest)the south tower was the last one hit it went down before the tower that got hit first. Osama (i think hes really Obama) came on latter and said all this wierd stuff i was only in preschool then. i live in nj in my town at least ten people died saddly in the tragic day of 9-11. Lincoln we droped a ATOMIC BOMB!!!!! on japan u idiot. NOT ONE BUT TWO……………
(im in English) all i remember is that my mum was crying as she watched the news and there was film footage of the incident. Then she put me up on her lap and said that a “very bad thing has happened to my Uncle” and thats all i remember.
I remeber it watching but it seemed to me it wasnt a long time ago.
i was only 3 when that happened well atleast i didnt see what happened
I’m sorry Enn and Stton that you two had to face sadness. I don’t live next to the Twin Towers, for that fact not even close to New York. But my school is a school with much pride, and we had the a long moment of silence that almost went through 1st Period. This is one of the most sad day for America, because it was a WTC!!!! My American Studies teacher doesn’t like to talk about this day… But like I said my school has LOTS of pride, so we studied hard and we made mini projects before the class was over. Also about the Plane that crashed in Pennsylvania, the passengers knew and did something about it. That way the plane could not crash where it was heading. Thank those people for they could of saved the White House…
Everyone Remember this day…
9/11 🙁
good post u did
i live in england and was watching it but did not know what wasa happenig at time
but now it seems the terrorist group is weaker in august one leader was killed but sadly replaced by a man who trains suicider bombers which could mean trouble or maybe not if they kill him but we never know wat future holds.
PS ww2 started when nazis invaded poland it started for america on december 7 europe september 1st
i was only 2 so i wasnt in school. but my sisters were in elementary school and my mom took them out early, ecven though we dont live in new york we just border it.
Gjh, I think Enn meant Pearl Harbor caused the US to get involved. And yes Al Queda did it, not Iraq intelligence and the CIA 🙄
Wao, that was an Enn-spiring speech. I don’t have much of a speech, because I was 4 at the time and I don’t remember it that well. 9/11 is definitely a day to think about and be glad that we’re all here today.
Agh, my 9/11 story has its good and bad parts.
I live in a nice little state called North Carolina, nothing much really happened there. It was one of my first days of pre school. When I got there I settled down and just played with my friends for awhile.
Then the teacher got a phone call. I remember looking over there and seeing a confused and shocked face. I had no idea what was going on. I thought it was just something bad a student did and continued playing.
Then when I got home, I found out that today was my Fathers birthday. He tooks me, my mom and sister and we went to get something to eat. While we were eating the news was playing. I saw the twin towers. I looked and cotninued to study it. Then what I saw scared me half to death.
It showed one of the air planes hit the twin towers.
My parents looked at me, then looked at the tv. I have no idea if they already knew what happened, They stared at the tv, then I remeber it talking something about the Pentagon. I still had no idea what was going on.
Thinking it could be just something to get people excited, I went on my old penguin, and got on cp. Everywhere there was some kind of moment of silence for something called “twin towers”.
I really wanted to know what was going on. I went to my parents. asked them what happened, and after a lot of begging they finally told me the terryifing tale.
Later, President George Bush, declared war on Terrorism. I thought the war was a bad thing, so I looked up opinions on the internet by google.
There was tons of hating on him. Then I found a guy talking about it. He said : There is guy 1 and guy 2. Guy 1 punches guy 2 in the face. Guy 2 gets back up to punch him, but guy 1 reminds him that is a primitive way to handle it, then guy 2 stops, and guy 1 punches him again.
My opinion is, we had to handle this huge terrorist attack in some kind of way. We cannot reason with them, we cannot try to negotiate anything with them, so we did the last thing we wanted to do. Send our young and brave men to fight for us.
For we are a nation, in God we trust, God bless America( Yes I am Christian, and proud ) and we are a nation of justice, a nation that wants to show the world what good we can do. We have been blessed by a great and succesful military, and I hope that doesn’t change by 1 mistake, but we are a nation of justice, good and we are blessed. But it is also our BURDEN. We have our job, we get rid of everything we can that is evil, corrupt, or threatens freedom. Like i WW2 against the Nazis, they killed millions of jews, and some christians, and we fought against them. We won. Now, I beleive God has rewarded us for our brave actions in fighting the corrupt, and gave us A great and succesful nation, and a new ally: Israel. Now Germany is one of our best allies. Now we must fight against terrorism, and when this is all over, we might be rewarded by God a second time for fighting the corrupt. May all the souls of the victims of twin towers rest in peace.
God bless, Jackfrost357
I was 4 when the terrorists attacked… Unfortunately I don’t remember much of it. I lived in Missouri at the time so fortunately I wasn’t attacked but 1 of my dad’s friends was attacked. Her name was Susan and she worked at 1 of the towers. I’ll ask my dad for the story when he gets back from work then I’ll post it on here.
EVERYONE PLEASE WATCH THIS FILM, AND MAKE UP YOUR OWN MIND ON WHAT REALLY HAPPENED:
WE SHOULD ALL KILL OSAMA BIN LADEN
My 9/11 Story:
I was 7 years old yea i used to live in NYC but i was there when it happened. My Grandma was taking care of me in the Apartment Building. My parents at work.My grandma started to cry as she sees the news. The ground shaked and i was nervous and i went by the window and saw a lot of cops and fire fighters saying ”EVACUATE THE BUILDINGS”.My grandma and I ran outside and started to run.Like 20 Mins later the South tower collapsed, everyone running as fast as they could and i fell on the floor because of a rock and quickly went running.I felt that the dark side was coming closer and closer.I cried and i realize that this day will be remembered forever…
R.I.P For the people who died at 9/11 and for the fire fighters that risked thier lifes for others.
~Saw~
As a british out sider i dont think i could ever understand how terrible this was.
However you have one thing wrong there, yes WW2 was caused by the attack on pearl harbor this only caused (you) the americans to go to war. The real thing started on 1st september 1939 when germany invaded poland, the rest as they say is history…
WAIT WAIT peral harbor didn’t start WWII. it just brought America into it.
a freind i knew was on the 54th floor he was killed
JACKFROST, CP DIDN’T EXIST IN 2001.
Lincoln wants WWIII 😮
This is late but here is my story.
Ok I was 1 or 2 years old. SO I dont remember anything.
But 8 years later in 5th grade the 5th graders hha d to write about hero’s. One guy in my class wrote about 9/11. Some of u might know some might not. A plain crashed on the field. Let me tell u how. Ok 3 minutes later 3 guys jumped out of their seats and yelled some Asian language. They KO the drivers took control. People panicked and everything. Except 1 guy. He called the airport people to tell his family good bye. He calmed the panic and together they made a plan. Their plan was either to kill or KO the terrorists real hard. Then take control of the plane if they can. Then they got watever king of they can. Purses suitcases, and somehow bat.
The terrorists stood guard and one drove. Later BAAM! Knocked down. One in shock then HE went down. They were down. The driver had no idea wat was happening. Then he saw wat happened and stopped driving to fight. The leader of the Americans had a hand fight while one American took control of the plane. When a main driver woke up He ended the hand fight with his fist and the the terrorist went down. The Americans were safe until the American driver crashed into a field. No survivors. Watch that video. It will explain much. I had the time.
on the 11th we had a memorial for my uncle he was, 34 he died on the 37 floor of the 1st tower. Here are some accounts including mine and my fathers :,( , my dad was entering the 2nd tower when a loud explosion was heard from over head 🙁 immediately the flow of people traffic changed directions and people started screaming, my dad, confused kept walking until a guy covered in blood came out of the elevator and collapsed and my dad suddenly scared for life started running the other way he ran to park ave. And called my mom. Here is my account. It was the first day of first grade as the teacher started speaking about himself i got bored and started playing with my shoe lace then we heard an explosion sound that shook the classroom i and my best friend at the time ran to the window and we saw the first tower on fire then the inter com came on telling us to tell the teacher our home phone number and for us to be calm my mother picked up my sister and I from the elementary school she took us home where my dad was holding an ice pack to his head and crying later that night my parents told us some bad people didn’t like Americans and they took planes from the pilots and crashed them into the buildings where hundreds of Americans made a lot of money. School was closed for the rest of the week my parents told us we couldn’t leave the house unless its an emergency and i couldn’t understand it
Hey Ennbay, there is just one thing that is wrong about your post the are not making another WTC! They were building the Freedom Tower to replace it! The news that is from NY said they were building the Freedom Tower.
Setheo1
Oh ya here is my 9/11 story. I was born on the year the Twin Towers were hit so I didn’t know anything! And I was born in Calfiornia but my mom heard it on the radio in her old car. We have a new van but anyways I keep watching it on the news every 9/11.
Setheo1
dude you made a great speach,
and yes, I think this attack is worse than december 7 because i have a pearl harbor video game the bad thing about the terroist attack is that it was on civillions and not the naval base of pearl harbor. but they were both days to be remember forever and i will never forget any of the horrible attacks that happend on the USA
GO USA GO USA GO USA!!!!!!!!
any way awesome speach!
oh ya no plane hit building 7! the planes only hit buildings 1 and 2. 7 collapsed because it was on fire by debris.
This is a horrible day. I come from Australia so it doesn’t really affect me but I sill have a story:
I was in first grade back when my best friend then (He is American) told me on 9/11 that this was the day that bad terrorists crashed planes into Twin Towers. I had no idea what the Twin Towers was and how bad this actually was. Then when I was in year three on 9/11whatching the news I reallized how bad it was. I cried thinking about all the families missing mums and dads and uncles and aunts or any being hurt. I got one message for you ppl
BIN LARDEN SUCKS REAL BAD
i was only three when the twin towers fell 🙁
This is terrible. D:
