During the next 6-8 weeks, a new nations page will be written. A new government will emerge from this document. Here are the big major changes coming to ACP. Nearing the conclusion of my 6-8 month term as the leader of ACP, I will announce the election for the leader of ACP. A safe and legitimate election for the leader of ACP will occur. At this time all soldiers ranked general and above will be eligible to run for the leadership spot if they so chose. Only members of ACP may run and or vote for the position and cannot be a retired, fired or suspended member. Saint has agreed to work on, and with Boomers help we will forge a new way to insure a fair and safe electorial system for the elections. Once the new leader is elected, he or she will then select the new co-leaders for his or her 6-8 month term. Before the transfer of leadership, and after the election of the new leader, the current leader will over see the election of the new senate. We will be electing 8 members of the senate, plus a vice president. You may not run for both senate and vice president of the senate, so choose your battle wisely. There will not be 8 blocks of nominees, but 1 block of all nominees, with the top 8 winning a seat in the senate. The Senate VP will also be decided in the same elections with the same rules. Once the new Senate has been elected, the new leader will then have the ability to select one ACP member to be seated in the senate. This will provide some relief from losing the ability to select the VP. As always the President of the senate shall be the leader unless he or she designates another for the position. Once the old leaders term is complete, the new leader and senate will assume their positions and begin their 6-8 month term, (length decided by the leader), untill the cycle begins anew. The Senate will be using the protocol to be laid out by Dr. Nono jr. The senate will decide all functions of the DRACP with the leader having final say unless vetoed by a 3/4 majority of the full senate. There will be no Senate decisions pertaining to the Army, I.E….War, Demotions, firings, suspensions or promosions, to include promotions to moderaters on chat, or the addition of any leadership spots. There will be tight provisions for impeachment of the Leader, to be determined by the senate in coming meetings. As any past or present leader can attest to, many decisions are made on a split second, and the advantage of hindsight becomes inherently unfair. No leader shall be forced to govern under the stress of fearing a coup or impeachment. He or she must be allowed to lead with the betterment and saftey of ACP first and formost in his or her decisions. If at any time, a problem arises that has not been provided for in the new ACP government, the leader shall first endevour to resolve it to the majoritys satisfaction, failing that, the senate shall vote and will have the binding word, only after the leader has turned the matter over to the senate VP. This new government shall begin the transition upon Saints retirement, and be fully functioning upon Dryvits retirement in 6-8 months from that date, or earlier if decided upon by the leader/senate. The retiring leader may not run for re-election to the leadership spot of ACP, how ever if selected and chooses to do so, may serve as a co leader or be elected to the senate provided he or she has not retired. No leader shall be afforded a vote in the election to succeed him or her.

at the meeting I had agreed with everything exept the 6-8 months, I think its too long for those soldiers who want and deserve to be leader, they might get too old and have to retire before the term is over…
Edit: ACP cannot cycle leaders through like a drive thru so everyone can lead, if they are good, they will not be retired before their chance.

Great job Dry! I think these new rules will help pull ACP out of its slump and bring a new era of ACP, which is a good thing. I cant wait till your leader, ACP will be so much better!

A group of people votes on stuff for the government part of acp. These people are voted into the group and can only be in the group for 6-8 months before being voted in again.

The term limit is outrageous, 6-8 months?
That could mean to 1/2 to 2/3 of year, and supposing the leader is not a productive one, ACP could easily fall within that timeframe. . .
As the leader has the right to select the Senate Vice President, they could easily select someone who is a lackey, (not that Nono is), and as the Vice President moderates and controls the Senate in most matters, they could easily:
1) Not allow a vote.
2) Unfairly sway members.
3) Declare the results of a vote null and void.
Also, General as a base limit, is lacking. There are many soldiers in this army, who are below this rank, yet are superbly qualified, and are deserving of such an opportunity.
This is also slanted in other ways.
Basically, the members of Congress are nothing more than lame ducks. Arguably, anything pertaining to the DRACP, pertains to the army.

The leader answers to the people, does he not?
Therefore he is always under the stress of such, because although he or she may not be formally impeached, if the public loses faith, the leader is powerless.
Remember, this is not a real army, so people can choose to do whatever they wish to.
They have the right to scrutinize the leaders, and make a decision.
Therefore, it is in the best interests of the leader to take account of what the people want.
(I’m not disagreeing, I’m just saying, IMO, that statement could’ve been worded better)
This idea is plausible, although it requires a few adjustments.
Good work so far, fix up the details, and it’ll be fine.

Shab: If the term was shortened then the rule that the leader can run again should be taken out because if the leader is good then he or she should be leader again
Edit: Goodness Jedi, your comments on the VP show that you did not even read the post or understand what you were reading. Try it again. The VP is elected, ELECTED. And there going to be provisions for impeachment, all this is clearly stated in the post.

Great writing dry, but i think that the leader should have a 4 month term and can be relected for 2 months. I think this because 6-8 months is a REALLY long time.

We also need a judicial branch of government. If time allows, I’d love to give the final say on a case against ACP-wide felonies.

Actually we agreed to most of your demands. Acp is not required to agree to all of your demands, especially the election one which would allow you to have a chance at being leader when you have never showed any support for Acp before.
Go attack Nachos for not being democratic because you had your meeting and its done. NGA won but you yourself lost because its not right for people who do nothing for an army to become a leader or 2ic just because they are popular in other armies. This sort of long term thing (like elections every 6 months) often don’t work. When I first visited the Nation page in Sept 07, the people in the government were the same as when Oagal retired, even though it said they would have an election every 3 or 6 months (I forgot which)
how is this going to work elections every 6 months what if 6 months from now ACP is at war with tons of CP armies Nachos are attacking the capitol UMA FW IW WW BP ST and other armies are attacking the other servers and then you have to post up an election which will require ppl too waste good time for it and u can have no fare elections because u can’t password it theirs too many ppl in ACP to give out too and it will eventually lead too one person who will give it to another then it might reach someone like Batista Person or Commando! plus noone is going into and election alone they need supporters and then their’s that problem will the elected official lead ACP or will his close supporters just have him as a figure head and they make all the decisions and then their’s the chance someone like Oagal Pink Mafia Commando might step into power and could easily convince the noobs and most of the senate which will probally be his supporters to keep him in power and their’s also the ppl who lose the elections who might not let it go and start rebellions cause they think they were cheated out of it and example say Boomer ran with 5 other candidates ofcourse he would win because of his popularity then RG and other NGA’s return but this time for war not protest

I think it sounds like a great plan, however I do think that the limit for running for leader should be lowered, maybe to Lt. General.

Edit: Yes. As it states, if the former leader does not retire, he or she if selected, can choose to serve as a 2 or 3ic, or if they choose, may run for the senate or senate vp. Great question by the way.

It states the “Provisions” are to be decided by the senate in the coming weeks, so yeah, not very specific until the Senate decides as it clearly states, good catch there. We have plans for a VP election, It is clearly laid out in the article, to coincide with the full Senate election. I think we can have a nice fair and simple election with no problems Jedi, but we do appreciate your concern. Thanks for the comment.
