Hello ACP! Today marked our return to Club Penguin once more after a long-awaited Club Penguin Rewritten client transfer to HTML 5. Many seemed to have experienced some sort of performance issues – as expected with many changes that came with the update. Here are some tips and tricks to get your game running smoothly again:
1. Enable Hidenames Feature – CP Rewritten has a feature to hide people’s usernames. This will help you decrease lag. To enable it, click the ? button on the blue bar at the bottom of your game screen. Once you’ve clicked it, go ahead and type “hidenames” on your keyboard.
To revert back to normal mode, redo the process!
2. Enable Hardware Acceleration – For Google Chrome users, this is the most important performance enhancement tip. To enable hardware acceleration, click the 3 dots on the top right corner of your chrome and click settings.
Once you’ve pressed settings it will take you to the settings page and a search bar should appear at the top. Type up “Hardware Acceleration” in the search bar and these options should appear:
Make sure you enable hardware acceleration (it should look like the picture above it is)
3. Try a different browser – If the first tip didn’t work, try a different browser like Microsoft Edge. Google Chrome blacklists old hardware and can make it rather laggy in-game if it is outdated.
Finally as the last resort if the first two tips didn’t work and if you wish to proceed with Google Chrome is to enable Override Software Rendering List.
PLEASE DO THE FIRST ONE AS IT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT TIP AND IT SHOULD FIX YOUR LAG PROBLEMS WITHOUT DOING THE OTHER TWO.
