Addressing the bot issues

Hello ACP!  I am posting today as there has been a major issue that various major armies have been experiencing in the past few weeks.  This issue is to do with bots raiding various events.  We have had multiple attacks in our past few events, from Camelogical.  These bots spam the rooms we are in with emotes, and make it almost impossible to host events.  Click read more for how we as an army can combat these issues.

Bots have raided one of our events, what do I do?

There’s two solutions that we have come up with in the past few weeks in the annoying scenario that bots decide to raid one of our events.  The first is by ignoring/reporting all of the bots in the room.  If you ignore all reports, then they will appear invisible in the room, which can work for events.  The downside to this is that it is a very time consuming process, and can take ten minutes for all troops to get the bots reported.  See the picture below for how to ignore someone on CP.

Another solution that we have had to bots raiding events is that we can move to a troops igloo.  The bots are unable to follow us to an igloo as it can be locked and we can prevent bots from entering.  There is one major downside to this though, as often troops don’t get in the igloo for one reason or another, and we can’t collect rouges from CP rooms.

How can we prevent bots from finding our location or logging on?

It is quite difficult for us to completely make it impossible for someone to track down our location, as if they try hard enough they will get on.  There are a few pre-cautions we can take though to make it as difficult as possible for them to find us on CP.

  • Do not member nulls during event (This also requires banning the bot during the event)
  • Do not put the location of the event in the scroller.
  • Do not post the server in event posts.

Hopefully if we follow these precautions we can try to avoid things like this happening to our events.

  1. Good post.

  2. For some reason I still see the emotes after I ignored them in the last bot raid. Just an emote coming from what seemed like nowhere, and, of course, that was what made us have random lag attacks.

  3. bots raiding your events… to think that the moderators would’ve got the bots by now, as well as the creator.
