Regarding LT’s Accusations

Hello ACP,

You may have heard that in their recent slew of accusations, the LT have accused that the ACP AUSIA division are using old pictures for their events. As the writer of that post, and an AUSIA temporary 3ic of the ACP, I am compelled to write a response.

Yes, the picture that was used was an old picture. We held two events, on June 24th and June 25th, in which I had taken pictures of both events. In an accident, I had accidentally used pictures from the June 24th event in the June 25th event image. I must point out that whenever I take a screenshot, the images all appear on the desktop. I did not delete the images from the previous event, and they had been mixed up. I thought an image from June 24th was from June 25th.

In the following, you will see that in the same folder, images from both the two events are with each other. On most days I would have deleted images from the day before in order to prevent confusion. On this day I had forgotten to do so, and so I mixed them up.

Why, then, did I mix up the images from Town with another town? The reason, again, is simple. On most events I would have troops taking images for me- most of them who are not preoccupied with leading and so can take much better pictures than I can- and I had not taken pictures of a tactic in which we had a clear size of 15 with a perfect tactic. I remembered, however, that we had one and thus seeing that image I thought it was from June 25, not June 24.

That is all. The truth is simple. Mistakes happen.

In any case, here is an image from the June 25 event that was not uploaded due to poor tactics. There is a clear size of around 14 in here. That accidental picture in no way would have caused a significant shift in ACP’s AUSIA score as our sizes have been fairly consistent throughout the week.

If you feel that I may be trying to cover up a ‘bad event’ (this wasn’t even really a bad event)- I’m not shy of posting bad events. Here’s an example from a few months ago: I posted two events where AUSIA maxed 8. I don’t care what the CPAC scores are. Truth and honesty is what counts, yet a mistake happened here. It is silly that it has to be blown up to the fact that I have to write such a long post to respond to it, and this does reflect our development as a community.

I understand, of course, that the more stubborn LT leaders, who will indeed always persist in seeing the world in the way they want it to be, will refuse to believe me. I don’t mind. I myself would be skeptical of this explanation. I cannot help it if you refuse to believe a simple explanation. But it is the truth. Mistakes happen, and although the world usually will not accept mistakes, I ask that you understand this.

Now allow me to respond to the notion that ACP’s previously strong AUSIA division has fallen to the point where we cannot have a PB with other armies. ACP’s AUSIA division is still capable at fielding sizes of 10-15 at 12 PM BST. This is, of course, a noticeable drop from Flipmoo’s consistent sizes of 20 (or so I assume; I can’t say for sure because I’ve only rejoined ACP for less than a week) but for those of you who have been with ACP’s AUSIA division for a long time, you will know that the AUSIA division’s sizes often drops without Flipmoo. Yet 15 is not a bad size. It is still very respectable for an AUSIA division.

But it is true that I do not yet want a PB with GT. This is for various reasons. I have direct orders from Flipmoo not to accept or schedule any PBs with other armies. There are possible diplomatic repercussions and implications from PBs that I do not yet want. And lastly, I simply want to stabilize AUSIA’s sizes without anything to hurt their morale. Is ACP’s AUSIA division undefeated? No, AR’s defeated us before. But I simply want to be able to have time to recover a division before sending back into battle.

I could talk more about this subject, but I will not because I do not want to unnecessarily provoke any more backlash from LT or GT. To the LT: I am sorry that I have provoked such a strong yearning to point out something terrible about ACP, something as small as one old picture mistakenly put in- it must be that we are so much less scandalous compared to you that you have to quickly point anything, anything out that will darken ACP AUSIA’s reputation.

To the GT: I’m sorry that I did not accept your request for a PB. If you would still like to schedule one with us, please do so when AUSIA regains its footing and we can have an equal PB.

As a final note: I accept full responsibility for this mistake and am willing to immediately resign from my position as temporary ACP 3ic. This final decision will remain with Flipmoo.

Thank you.

  1. A simple mistake. They happen. Now LT can go and screw themselves.

  2. Go back to trying to get LT above 15 Water…

  3. I have almost done this accidentally before too. Don’t feel too bad about it.

  4. Finally, Waterkid’s a** got burst. (wary)

  5. Don’t resign, you’ve done nothing wrong. The LT are cowards, trying to expose the ACP for the smallest faults when in reality, they are probably doing much worse. The ACP should take this example of cowardice and demolish what’s left of the ruins of the Light Troops.

  6. I have one final thing to say. I was heavily involved in the media (SMAC CEO, CPAC EP) previously so I know how good they are at catching intentional fake and irregular pictures; I’m not stupid enough to just use an old picture intentionally while knowing I would get caught.

  7. i dont know whether to believe you, the proof you provided is believable but easily faked as seen here – http://i.imgur.com/kICk4Xo.png

    • as I said, some will remain skeptics. people will believe what they want to believe, but this is the truth. i could have faked that evidence of course, & there’s no proving i didn’t so i can’t really give a much better response than to say my evidence is real.
