Taking Responsibility, Doing The Right Thing

“I had discovered long ago the first lesson of political courage: to think anew. I had then learned the second: to be prepared to lead and to decide. I was now studying the third: how to take the calculated risk. I was going to alienate some people, like it or not. The moment you decide, you divide.” Tony Blair, Former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom

I believe that those words are the maxim’s that the Leaders of every Army have to adhere to, the moment you decide, you divide.

Today is a day in which I have had to make a decision, a hard decision. But a decision that I alone have had to make. Being Commander in Chief brings a responsibility with it – the responsibility to do the right thing.

I believe in open government, the moment we start withholding information from the people, that is the moment that we no longer become fit to govern.

A number of things have been going on these past few weeks behind the scenes that you did not know about, firstly I would like to apologise for the fact you did not know about them.  But for issues of national security, I could not reveal them, as they would have been damaging for the revival of ACP.

When I was Second in Command, under Capncook and Tori – I watched as ACP slowly spiralled into decline. I watched as the army I had loved for 6 years went down the sewers. I was powerless to stop it. I couldn’t do anything. I realised the only way that I could change things was if I was in charge myself. So after Capn retired and made me his successor – I set ACP to work, I drove you all very hard. I make no apology for it.

In week 1, we shot up from 10th to 5th in the CPAC Top 10.

In week 2,  we moved up to 4th in the CPAC Top 10.

In week 3, we moved up to 3rd in the CPAC Top 10

In week 4, we are 1st in the CPAC Top 10. The last time this has happened was 11 months ago.

3 weeks ago, a number of disgruntled owner ranks complained to me about my fellow Commander in Chief Tori. They didn’t think that Tori was the right person to execute the job of Commander in Chief effectively, and I slowly came to the conclusion that they were right. It is a pretty dire sign, when 90% of your owner ranks do not have any confidence in you to lead the army. Let us not forget who lead ACP to 10th in the CPAC Top 10, and to 1st in SMAC. The first time in our history.

I gave Tori lifelines, she was given two ”final” chances. In which she was supposed to prove herself worthy of leading the army.  You have all noticed the performance by the U.S Division in recent weeks. It cannot be a coincidence that DW invaded us at US times. I stress that this is NOT the fault of our US troops. They perform a valiant service to the army. They bear no fault. It is due to incompetence at the highest levels of ACP.

But it is not just because the U.S Division is not as good as it should be. A Leader who cannot recruit should not be Leader. If you look on the join page, you can see who is recruiting and who isn’t. A dual leadership is supposed to work as a team. A team doesn’t work when one person does all the work, and when decisions that would help the army are blocked.

My good friend Capncook, who led with Tori aswell, also has made his opinions quite clear. We can’t ALL be wrong Tori.

This post should not even have been made. It is extremely regrettable that I have to be the one to write it. Even after Boomer intervened and asked Tori to step down, she still refused. What do I do? Do I let the army continue to slide on because one person is too selfish to step down? I would be failing in my duties if I did. If I thought that I was a barrier to ACP’s success, I would step down immediately.

Therefore, with the approval of all of the present ACP owners, Tori is hereby removed from her position as President and Commander-in-Chief, effective immediately.

It gives me no pleasure at all to do this. I still regard Tori as a friend, but the Army deserves so much better.

Signed,

Cassius Brutus, President and Commander in Chief of the DRACP

  1. “Let us not forget who lead ACP to 10th in the CPAC Top 10, and to 1st in SMAC” Tori and Capn. And it’s “led” not “lead”.

  2. Open government? Did you watch Yes Minister at all?

  3. Cas just flubbered up ACP *wary* Your owners may want Tori fired, but why don’t you ask any of the mods or members? I’m sure you’d get a very different response.

  4. For once ACP has done the correct decision. For the past 4 months Tori has done nothing at all. And when I mean nothing, I don’t think she even deserves mod. The only reason she lasted so long was talking with her friends, thus gaining support.

It looks like Cas is kinda power hungry. “why on earth would I want to do that” (immediate message right after) “it limits my power”

  6. Baa, since Tori is gone, you need someone else to be leader. You cant be leading alone. BAA HA HA.

  7. True. I feel heartbroken, as well as calm. But I’m sure you made the right decision. ACP has almost been unorgainized all the way. Again, good choice. For now, goodbye. ~ Cяane∂, ACP Second Lieutenant

  8. Interesting development. Congratulations, casius on finally achieving your long held goal, after many years. I will always support policies that successfully propagate ACP, in all forms.

  9. I think this was only a pretty nice decision,i remember us on 10th and as soon as capn retired, cas replaced capn and we got 5th and soon he led us to 1st.

  10. well idk wat happen in the past…but this post is soo sad (im Maggielscool)

  11. well alrighty then… who knows what will happen next

  12. To be fair I think Cas is right. Tori was doing nothing to help us.

  13. Tori was helpin us

  14. Well.

  15. Cas, explain why Fluffy, Mon, and Light retired.

  16. Wait fluffy retired????
I do agree tori would just be better as a 2ic.
Also i regret to tell you i have no been able to offer my services the this army for the past 3 days, and i missed alot. but it was because i lost all internet connection and had to have someone come in to fix it. sorry about that.

  17. I never wanted Tori fired. It’s a shame because she did contribute in her own way. She shouldn’t have been leader but she made a good 2ic and I think firing her is wrong.
