US ACP Supreme Commander…
or Not?
The US troops need a US Leader and it’s not because Funks can’t handle being the only Supreme Commander. Funks is perfectly capable and willing to lead all of ACP by himself and I know he can do it, but I believe we need a US Leader also for many reasons.
It is no doubt that leading a huge, active, global army comes with a ton of responsibilities. There is so much more to leading than any of us can imagine, it’s not just posting and leading events. It’s posting, analyzing, coming up with fresh tactics and strategies, intelligence gathering, troop support, conflict resolving, boosting morale, inspiring and motivating troops, entertaining troops during difficult times, communicating with other armies and leaders on a daily basis, negotiation, ACP site maintenance, ACP chat maintenance, recruiting, and so much more the list goes on. I truly believe a global army our size needs 2 Supreme Commanders, one on each side of the Mid-Atlantic Trench so that these responsibilities don’t become too stressful and overwhelming for one person. Funks has a real life too and school to concentrate on and I personally think he will soon burn out (tire) trying to juggle his real life plus ACP Supreme Commander responsibilities. Although Funks can do it, it isn’t fair to him and he needs a partner to share his duties. Resulting his enthusiasm and passion won’t extinguish as rapidly and his efforts will remain high.
We need a US Leader not only to share the responsibilities, but it’s important for participation, enthusiasm, and morale that US troops have someone of the highest authority to interact with and look up to. Funks can’t be online 24/7 and asking or expecting him to do so is horribly wrong. When a leader is in our chat, people look up to that person and interact with them. Their voices are heard and responded to and they feel like they are a part of something great. The US troops have somebody available to come to with their problems, concerns, or just share their joys and that feels great. They feel wanted, accepted, and appreciated like someone cares and they establish loyalty to ACP. Having that highest ranking person in chat is a real morale booster to all of ACP. Often times conversations discussing improvements for ACP happen and the troops contribute many great suggestions, again feeling involved and that boosts enthusiasm and morale. Just having a Supreme Commander’s presence and interaction in chat is inspiring and motivational to the troops. The leader become, and must act as, a role model to all of ACP.
Also during the US events, we need someone to take control and lead these events. Lately, US owners are offline or afk and there is disorder and infighting in our chat which effects our performance on the battlefield. There is a reason why we have established rank. If a leader is not present, then the 2IC’s must lead. If the 2IC’s are absent or afk which has been the situation lately, then the 3IC’s must take the lead immediately, and so forth. There should be no fighting in chat during our events over who is doing tactics. If you are the highest rank online and afk, you forfeit your opportunity to lead to the next person until you become active. If it is in the middle of a tactic, then you take over after the tactic in process is finished. Having a US leader present will solve all of these latest problems.
Also a US leader would motivate and/or make the US troops recruit to rebuild their US forces. I say less socializing in the chat and recruit a bit until we can rebuild, but someone firm needs to enforce this.
Here’s the problem with not having a US leader. The Us troops feel left out, unappreciated, bored, lose motivation, effort decreases, and they will leave ACP as we have experienced before. Let’s learn from our mistakes of the past. We must have a US leader for US troops to interact with, look up to, and be guided by, or ACP will sadly fail.
NOTE: It’s not all on the Supreme Commander’s shoulders…that’s why we have 2ICs and 3ICs and everyone needs to be doing their responsibilities to the best of their abilities at all times. That’s what we are here for and that’s what we should be doing. Rank isn’t just a title to brag about, it’s something we earned and we continue to earn or we should be demoted to let someone else do our jobs. We need ACTIVE ACP from the bottom up.
I know this is a tough discussion we must have, but it must be done for the good of ACP. There is no pressure on Funks, but let’s let him know how we all feel about this subject. Also, it’s not a matter of who’s better or regional pride. It’s about all of us, the great ACP.
It’s your army ACP. What do you think we should do? Make suggestions in comments below. Let your voices be heard.
