Snaily U-Lead Sessions

sn

I normally don’t disclose conversations I have in PC, but this one is a very important one in which something good will come out of it.  I give Maxy777, ACP  Lieutenant General and recipient of the ACP‘s Friendliest Soldier Award, full credit for bringing this to my attention and many great thanks for caring about ACP enough to discuss this with me.

Maxy777 was expressing how unfair it was for ACP to bring in retired ACP to high ranks when there were so many ACP working hard for those positions and the lower ranks felt unappreciated, like they were working hard for nothing.  I agreed explained that sometimes we need to have very experienced people in certain extreme situations brought in.  We discussed the lack of experience in the lower ranks and how identified how they lack opportunities to gain valuable experience and develop important skills for leading and doing the responsibilities of higher ranked ACP soldiers.

I have a solution to this issue.  I am going to take the initiative to hold many Snaily U-Lead sessions in Club Penguin to give our soldiers practice, helping them get more experienced, build skills and build their confidence.  I see this as great opportunity for many to pave their path and further themselves in their ACP careesr.  It’s also a great way to give people a taste of what it’s like to lead and give tactics and how fun it is, thus motivating them, getting them more involved, and strengthening loyal in ACP.  These Snaily U-Lead sessions will have a dual purpose.  Not only will they give our valuable soldiers an opportunity to gain experience and develop skills, but we can also incorporate some recruiting in CP since an assembled group of similar penguins always draw attention.

These Snaily U-Lead sessions I will be holding are NOT mandatory.  If you have to choose between a Snaily U-Lead session or an event because of time constraints or energy, CHOOSE THE EVENT ALWAYS.  Events are always priority.  This is completely voluntary and nobody will be judged nor disciplined in any manner based on their lack of participation.  Numbers aren’t important to these Snaily U-Lead sessions either.  If we have 20 people show up, that is great.  If we have only 3 people show up, that’s great too because those 3 individuals can still gain valuable experience.  If nobody shows up, then I cancel and we look forward to the next Snaily U-Lead session.  No pressure, this is for YOU.

I thank Maxy777 for our great discussion and encourage all of you to come talk to me if you have any concerns or suggestions.  We all have our own perspectives and notice different things that others, such as myself, may miss.  I’m open minded and easy to talk to and I welcome these discussions.  It’s for the good of ACP!

One last note, if an event gets scheduled at the same day/time of a Snaily U-Lead session, the Snaily U-Lead will automatically be canceled and you are to attend the event.

TO BE SCHEDULED SOON!

  1. Thanks for posting about this. 😀
P.S. I’m lieutenant general now according to promo post *wary*

    • Sorry! I looked at ranks and it said otherwise. I’ll fix that 😀 Maxy, I am so glad we talked about this. You brought up some really good points and concerns. People like you is what makes our army so great!

  2. Aren’t you just re-naming something which has quite obviously already been invented and is regularly scheduled after yourself 😮

On the retired ranks think though, I have to agree with you. Obviously in special cases such as Slider’s or Mchappy’s it’s fine to give them such high ranks but in the case of other “legends”, well known people from other armies, or people who join and seem particularly active/”un-nooby” recently it seems they’ve been given too high a rank.

I think the simple solution is that there aren’t enough mod ranks. Legends, particularly, when they rejoin, instantly expect a rank that is a moderator rank, a couple below the owner line. Even well-known people from outside armies expect a high mod rank at the very least, which is only 3 ranks of ownership. The particularly active/un-nooby people should obviously have to start with everyone else – near the bottom.

My solution would be to increase the mod line to four below owner, with no handpicked moderators below (except in special cases like Ken’s). None of these mods would be handpicked though modship could be taken away through neglect or abuse of the rules and their powers. Then, all of these people would join at a lower rank, leaving the consistently active at the top. My thoughts :p

    • Nice insight Tom:D This issue with mods in our chat will be addressed very soon. It’s on my list of things to do. I’d love to discuss this with you further and encourage anyone else to talk to me too so I can get all perspectives and views on this.
Yeah, U-Leads are nothing new and this could totally fail. I just see many people expressing the desire to practice leading and not given opportunities to do so. It’s good practice for me too, so I thought I’d throw this out there for anyone interested. It’s not formal, just for those who want to participate. I may not even organize all of these U-Leads, I might have Tori or Obama in US troops do some if there are interested ACP. The deal we have worked out at home currently is that I’m mostly a UK troop now and Waffle is US troop. We are flexible though if needed. I can do, if needed, US events and he can do, if needed UK events. But basically, I’m UK and he’s US. My point is during US times, I may ask Obama or Tori or Swimmerboy to have a U-Lead if anyone is interested.
      Thanks for your comment Tom!

  3. hahaha! I love it! no pressure. but this is for you!!! oh god thats funny!! Its putting pressure on on us reguler troops who want to get in a high rank. good post snaily. When the next world war happends. Which it could happen anytime. The u-lead events will end cuz we will have to defend every day!!! The last thing we need is another war. wait….. I’m getting off topic.

    • Yes I know with war it might be too much. Those who want to have some fun doing this can attend and if not, then we don’t do it. It’s very flexible, casual and events will always be priority. If this is a fail, that is OK. If someone wants to be spontaneous and PC me saying, “Let’s go into CP and lead some,” I’m going to go in with them and encourage others to join if free. If people don’t want to do this, then we won’t. This is for everyone who wants to do it. Yea, no pressure:D
      Thanks for the comment!

  4. Yay! More beer please!

  5. I agree with twingy- I think there should be an increased mod line (from Lt.General to General) so there are more people to gain experience and more people to moderate the chat. I read your newest post about scaring recruits away and I see that there is at most 2 mods that are actually enforcing the rules, so I think it would be a good idea to increase the mod line and have more mods available-by the time someone achieves Lt. General, they should be trustworthy enough to handle mod position. We are perhaps the army with the tightest mod line, which means a lack of mods, explaining why so many people get away with breaking the rules.

  6. Snaily…
