The Retirement of Sklooperis

Wow. That’s the only word I can think of to describe my experience in the ACP. Wow.

It’s been 694 days.
It’s been 16,656 hours.
It’s been 999,360 minutes.
It’s been 59,961,600 seconds.
And it hasn’t been enough.

I wish I could stay, but right now, there are more… more important things, and you don’t know how much it pains me to say that. The ACP was, is, and will always be, at least in my mind, my home, and I don’t want any of you to think me retiring will ever change that. Just because I’m leaving at body doesn’t mean I’m leaving at heart. I will always remember the ACP as my first army, and as the ones who really accepted me.

I’ll give my ACP History before I go in to my thanks section.

Sklooperis’ ACP History

It was a beautiful day on Breeze. March 1st, 2009. Everything seemed quiet, and a penguin name Sklooperis was fixing his igloo up. He needed some money, so he decided to go to the Coffee Shop and play some Bean Counters. Deciding to enjoy the lovely town, he walked.

As he walked in to the Town, however, he realized that it wasn’t as quaint as he was expecting. There, at the edge of the Town by the snow bank, was a group of penguins. They were green, and were yelling “JOIN ACP”.

“Ah! The ACP, is it time for me to join them for another battle?”, he pondered. He had fought with the ACP many times over the past two and a half years, and was well aware of their presence. However, he had not previously known one thing – he had never actually join the ACP.

It was what one troop said that caught his eye. For this wasn’t any ordinary battle, this was a recruiting session, and miraculously, it was the first one Sklooperis had seen. This one, special troop, said the words the told him how to join, and would forever change that little penguin’s life.

“Look up ACP Army of Club Penguin”.

That’s all that was needed. With those few words, Sklooperis knew what he needed to do. Right then and there, he opened a new tab and searched “ACP Army of Club Penguin”.

I would like to say that I was active from that day on, but I wasn’t. My ACP career truly started on July 15th, 2009. I can remember because it was on the same day that I saw Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (the midnight premiere).

On July 15th, I started out as a total noob, just like everyone else did. I was a Warrant Officer, but I didn’t care too much about rank at the time (except for on promo day ). I basically just came to chat to… chat. Oh yeah, and to crush on Fox.

Time passed, and December rolled in. At this point, I was still a standard troop, but now I was a Major General. My reign in this rank was short live, though – I retired from all armies on December 23rd, 2009.

Good news, I returned! Obviously, or I wouldn’t be here writing this. In less than a month, I came back under Boomer, and Saint re-ranked me as a Brigadier General.

So, it had been almost a year since my join date, and I STILL wasn’t a mod. This is what drove me to keep working. After getting back my Major General rank, by April 1st, I was made a mod. You can imagine the torture that lead to me finally being modded, since it happened on April Fools Day.

Becoming a mod is what changed me in the ACP. By the end of the next month, I had earned a position as Red Drill Team Leader in the ACPTR, and I had won my first position in the government as a senator.

Summer came, and I became inactive. I had a girlfriend, I was going on vacations, life was good. I figured I would lose a rank or two – but that was ok, I could get it back.

To my surprise, I became the Back-Up General of the Echo Division in July, just before my vacation to Cape Cod. It had taken 3 months to climb up to that spot since I had become a mod, but it was very worth it – Echo was my home division. I posted saying I was going to be away for the month on a vacation.

Once again, I was hit with a surprise to see upon my return that I had received yet another promotion (sort of). I was now 2nd General of Echo, so I tried to become more active. Echo rose, and we continued our reign as the largest division.

October came. At this point, my career had advanced much farther. I was promoted to ACPTR Co-Leader when Cg retired, and I was given control of the Echo Division after Littleguy was promoted to ACP 3ic. Life was good, and ACPTR enjoyed its best months of all time. I was proud.

Then, November came, and things would never be the same.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2rNnP3W5qpI

I had always wanted to become ACP 3ic, but I never knew my dreams would actually become a reality. That day, November 1st 2010, would always live in history in my memory.

Now being 3ic, I was forced to leave Echo, giving the control of it to Lillie Rose. But, something new came about. Since there were three 3ic’s – one who controlled Echo, and one who controlled Alpha, I was left without any division to call my own. So, after a quick talk with Bob, I became the first “ACPTR 3ic”, where I continued my ACPTR career.

My reign as ACP 3ic was great. In December, I became ACPTR Leader, helping it grow and earning myself the Medal of Training. It was at this point that I decided that I had to leave the ACP. The date was originally set to March 1st – my 2 Year Anniversary, but as time went on, I couldn’t bear to wait, knowing what I was doing, bringing me to retire today ~ January 24th, 2010.

That’s basically all of my history. Of course, there was a lot of other stuff going on at that time too, but that’s not relevant to my ACP Career.

Time for my thanks. Sorry if I forget anyone, I’ll try my best.

These aren’t in an exact order, at least not as first. My better friends are at the bottom. That doesn’t mean I hate you if I put you first, it just means you aren’t my best friend.

Note: These thanks are only for people that I actually talked to a lot or was associated with through some organization, etc. You don’t get on this list for talking to me a few times. ❗

Lucario12321: I had a lot of fun teaching you in the ACPTR. Continue your career here, I see potential in you.

Divotoo: I doubt you’ll read this, but I had fun talking to you, even if you weren’t always completely polite to me. I hope you’re doing well with… whatever you’re doing xD.

Shaboomboom: We didn’t talk as much as I did to most of these other people, but you seem really nice. You gave a promo just for asking, and you lead ACP well. It was fun to be a troop under you. Don’t listen to opinions – haters gonna hate.

Clintos007: I remember coming on one day and seeing you there for the first time in months. The only thing I remember from that convo: “I remember when Skloop was a noob”. Thanks for confirming that I wasn’t xD. I wish you were still around.

Chase 50: Am I wrong, or were you in ACP back in late ’09? I feel like I saw you way back when. Anyways, I’ll miss you, and I like to think of us as friends. Good luck.

Oagalthorp: Meh, I have to shove you in here somewhere. We aren’t great friends, but hey, where would we all be without you? Whether we’ve talked a lot or not, I can’t deny that you’re an excellent leader, and are a true legend. I hope your life is going well, and I hope you are rich and haz lots of cash monay.

Bobbyzachk: Sorry about that whole CPAC thing, I know I messed it all up. Either way, I’m glad we still talk. I just wished we had talked more, but hey, I’ll still see you around.

Happyman444: You were always really nice and understanding, and I don’t think even you realize that. Have a good life.

Aero Master: I miss yew buddeh, you were a good 3ic, even if you weren’t around a ton. I’m glad you started to visit a bit, I got to say a few words :). Make sure you visit some more so I can say my final goodbyes when I leave all warfare.

12declan12:  Good job at the ACPTR. I always have a soft spot for fellow trainers. Have a good life.

Oberst543: Didn’t you once give me an idea for CPA Central? Now that I think about it, it’s a distant memory, but hey, at least I remember it vaguely. I wish I had gotten to talk to you more. Live long and prosper.

Kenneth1000: Great 2ic. Too bad we aren’t better friends. You are definitely a great person though. To be honest, I hardly knew who you were until you were 3ic xD. Have a great final ACP experience, and remember to follow your heart.

Lorenzo: PODCASTS AND PHILOSOPHICATING FTW. I’ll still be in touch with you, I’m sure. Still, I met you here if memory serves. Here’s to more great times together!

Obi Wan4321: Hai der ACPTR friend. I wish we were better friends, too. Oh well, we got to talk at least :D.

Jordi30267: I’m glad RT is going pretty well for you. If I was able to help in any way, then I’m glad I did – they’re a great army, and you’re a great person. Continue what you’re doing, be friendly with the troops, and have contests. Act like a friend – not a leader.

CasiusBrutus: I felt like a total noob – when I kept seeing “Max” on chat, I didn’t know it was you for months xDDD. Sorry you didn’t get Legend on CPA Central, but you know you’ve gotten a lot done in your career.

Snowballpink: I never really talked to you, but I got my job in the ACPTR under your leadership, and you did a good job leading it. Good luck.

Ohlie: I had fun convos with you on chat. You’re funny, it’s too bad you retired quickly. I’m glad you still hang around chat.

Cg: I had a lot of fun talking to you and working with you in the ACPTR. If you read this, remember that I considered us good friends, and that I truly was upset when you retired. Hope your life is everything you want it to be.

Shimmy222: We didn’t talk a ton, but hey, you’re a nice kid, and we got along really well. I could’ve seen us becoming good friends, so talk to me if you get the chance.

24Keyser: I remember seeing you back when I was a noob. You weren’t as experienced as you are now though :D. Continue on your life path and go wherever it takes you.

Pinkgirl1114: Do you remember me? I may have the wrong person, but if I don’t, there was a period where we were best friends on ACP Chat. I miss you a lot, and I hope that whatever happened to you, it was the best thing you ever could’ve asked for.

Boomer: BOOMIE! Gosh, we’ve been through a lot together, now that I think. I was lead under you, twice, I dealed with you a lot in ACP, we worked together in CPA Central, and I honestly think we’re good friends. You write well, you lead great, and you’re one of the best tacticians I’ve ever met. Have a fantastic life.

Jcapp64: I wish I had worked with you in SSACP, I wanted to get involved in that. Oh well, we taught a couple nice classes together in the ACPTR, and you’ve always been nice.

Tuxy9349: Ah, Tux. If memory serves, we were running against each other in the Spring 2009 Senate race. Good times. I hope you had a happy retirement.

Mrtchy: We were really good friends when you were still around. BB did great under your leadership, and I wish you were still here.

Ladtom2: I’ll definitely see more of you. I can honestly say that I’m very happy to be business partners with you. This isn’t the end of our friendship – may the CPANN go far!

Stew20: Good kid. I always thought you were nice, and I think you worked in the ACPTR for a bit, or currently are. I see potential in you, so keep fighting.

Sliper765: You were definitely one of the best troops I trained. I haven’t seen you a ton lately, so I hope you didn’t leave. If you did, and you read this, I insist that you stay. If you haven’t left, follow this path and you will go far.

Thebester: Fun and random. I didn’t get to know you as well as I had wished, but at least we got to talk pretty often. You’re a fun part of the ACP, don’t change that.

Djgtjvgyhxgy: It’s amazing to see someone like you still be around. It’s the oddest thing to be able to teach about the great Explorer, Leader of the Romans, in an ACPTR Class, then come back to ACP Chat and see the same man in front of me. You’re definitely a legend, at least in my eyes.

Bobcatboy: Ah, the great Bob. It was under you I achieved my goal – becoming ACP 3ic. I want you to know that you were a very good leader. If anyone said otherwise, it was probably more because McHappy is so good that anyone in comparison just looks silly xD. You’re a great person, have a fun time in ACP.

Fiasco: You had great ideas for CPAC, and it’s a lot of fun talking to you. You are definitely more intelligent than most of the people here, and that’s easy to see. I hope I still get to talk to you more and hear your interesting ideas.

Smartuin: You’ve changed recently, but you’re still a pretty cool cat. I’m glad we were able to be Co-Leaders together in the ACPTR, and I hope RT goes well. You’ll definitely get 3ic very soon if you keep this up, and you’ll always be my little Smartie. *wary*

Twingy: TWINGEH. I wish you were still on chat sometimes D: You did a great job with the ACPTR, and it was you who told me I was becoming Co-Leader – my first real ACP Leadership roll. Thank you for being a great friend, and of course for choosing me for Co-Leader. Have a great ride.

McHappy: I doubt this is the last I’ll see of you, since I’m often associated with army leaders. You’re a fantastic leader, and you obviously didn’t deserve to get Worst Leader on CPAC. I’m sure it was just some NW’s hating on a player. You’ll bring ACP to great heights.

Wexfief: Although we didn’t talk a lot until the past couple months, I consider us to be good friends. I’m glad we were able to work together on the Holiday Smackdown, it was definitely a good bonding experience. Have fun with WW, I’ll see you around, for sure.

Timmy0000: I miss you on chat. While you WERE on chat a lot, we were good friends, and I hope your life if going well. I’m glad you visited a couple times at least.

Little Guy04: It was fun working with you in Echo, and especially as a fellow 3ic. You always seemed really nice, and I’m glad we were able to talk a lot. Don’t stop visiting ACP Chat, and neither will I. Maybe we can talk some more. And if not, I hope your life is long and prosperous.

Fallingtaoh: Heh, I remember seeing you around at the nooby Mimo parties before finally meeting you for real on ACP Chat. You were mean to me at first, but I was a noob xD. I’m glad we got to be friends, and no matter what people say about how you look, that pic that was on your Xatspace was very cute, kay?

Freddy257: You’re really funny, and I’m glad you were one of those retirees who sticks around chat a lot. I’m sure you’ll be here for a while, whether you think so or not. I hope to talk to you more before I leave for good.

Buckleybeans: You were a great friend, and I wish I had talked to you more. You would’ve made a great 3ic, and I was sad to see you go. I have high hopes to see a return from you, but if not, live your life to the fullest.

Monsterfully: I’m glad we got to talking once you returned to armies. I remember seeing you around a long time ago, and it was strange to all of the sudden see you again. I still want to talk to you more, so try to be on chat a lot, okay? 🙂

Motor 20: Wow, I remember when you were a wee low mod, and I watched you grow all the way up to 2ic, and I was even there for when you got fired. Things change, but I’ll always remember you as a good friend. Have a fun life, don’t play too much Minecraft ;D

Bfan: God, I haven’t seen you around in a long time. I think you got to 3ic before you truly left, but we talked a lot while you were still here, and I miss you. It’s a good thing that you’ve been visiting.

Capncook: Wow, now that I look back, we’ve known each other for a long time, haven’t we? I know we’ve had some disputes here and there, but that’s what I like about you – you’re not afraid to speak your opinion. Just try not to be harsh on people, you’re a great person with a good heart.

Klug1234: Ah, yes, my favorite toilet. Remember when I was a noob, and I would yell for you to open your mouth because I had to crap? xD Good time. I’m glad we worked together on CPAC, and I enjoyed your insightful comments. Keep visiting.

Lillie Rose: It was a great pleasure leading over you in Echo. You carried it well, and you’ve been a kind and reliable friend. Good luck in ACP, you’ll get that 3ic spot very soon, trust me.

Packer1 Nfl: I doubt you’ll read this, but we were great friends, and I wish you still were in ACP. You’re one of the main people who pulled me out of my noobiness, and I can’t thank you enough for that.

Jedimaster17: Mai open minded Sethy. I wish we had talked politics and beliefs more than we had, I bet we would’ve had a lot in common. Equality FTW.

Thomas270: I can’t say much – we were best friends, and I miss you dearly. Please visit, drop me a comment on CPA Central, I’ll find a way to get back to you.

Matre10: It’s funny, we both got active in the ACP at the same time, and I remember seeing you around. We were at the same rank for months, and it was like a constant contest, but finally you got the upper hand when I retired, gaining a few ranks on me. You had a great run, and it was great to talk to you as a DG and to work with you on Simmer’s site. Have a fantastic life.

Jack: I can’t thank you enough for the ACPTR position. Working under, and then with you, has been a fantastic experience. I can’t thank you enough for what you and Twingy have provided me at the ACPTR – it was one of most, if not the most, fun experiences of my career. I will miss you. Also, thanks for the Medal of Training 😀

Bluey: I can honestly say that back in late 09, you were one of my best friends. I miss you, and I’m glad you come around still. I hope to talk to you more before I leave.

Foxtails: <333 Hey babe. Naw just kidding. Fox, whether I was flirting with you or answering your grammar questions, I hope you know that I enjoyed your friendship, and being able to talk to you was something I cherished. I miss you being 3ic, but still, it’s your life, so make it count.

Batintrenche: It’s strange that I saw you again a few weeks ago. I miss you, and you were a great 3ic, and another great friend.

Enn: Same as Batin, a best friend, and you definitely helped make me the professional Skloop I am now. Thank you.

Dryvit: Remember when I was a noob and I had “Dry’s Best Buddy” in my name? Good times. I miss you, at least you still come on chat. Whenever you leave, I wish you the best.

Iasgae: My Ias. I’m happy to say that we’re great friends. You’re hilarious, a good leader, and one of the best damn writers I’ve ever seen, and I know deep down that even though you act goofy, you know we’re biffles. Thank you for the positions at CPA Central, and thank you for the wisdom you have brought me. I will continue your great legacy, and make CPA Central the best website it can be. It wouldn’t be what it is today without you.

Bluesockwa2: This isn’t the end of us – here’s to many more successful months at CPA Central!

Sonic The 1: My first friend in the ACP. I miss you very much, and I wish you hadn’t left so suddenly. You were the only person that talked to me as a noob, and I’ll miss you more than you know.

Buritodaily: I have to be honest – you were at total noob when we met, but you’ve evolved in to something great. You can go far Burito, just work hard and keep AR at this pace.

Kingfunks4: I’m glad you’re the new Head Reporter at CPAC. Same as Blue – I look forward to working with you.

Albaro Lord: Haters gonna hate. You seem to have disappeared, but I enjoyed working with you on CPAC, you’ve been a fantastic friend, and I’ve loved having you around.

Drigo2: My long time apprentice. Work hard in life, and you’ll go far. I see potential in you, but if you want to achieve, don’t slack off. I will try to teach you graphics, so do your best and strive for greatness. Even when I leave for good, you’ll always been in my memories.

Grillchz: Sorry I skipped you 😮 I guess I missed your name on the list. Anyways, I remember teaching you in the ACPTR, you were one of my best students. Keep going, you could be an owner before you know it.

Asdfghjkl888: Honestly, I think we’ve become best friends in these past couple months. I’d like to look in to making a business deal with you if CPAHO does well. I’ll be in contact with you 😉

Noka: I’ve loved talking to you, and you’re one of the only originals that’s still left from when I joined. Remember – Jeff will always win, no matter how many steroids Jimmie Johnson’s car takes.

Flipper: I still remember the day I returned to armies and you asked me to rejoin GW. I still remember the day you and Miroos asked me to become the PW 3ic. I still remember the day I first lead with you on GT. And now, here we are, 3ic’s together at the top of the world. We’ve come so far, and I can honestly say you’re on of my best friends. I’ll miss you far too much, and I’ll definitely talk to you more before I finally leave. I love you babe <333.

And, my best ACP friend,

Slider568: Surprised? No, it’s true, you’re my best friend in ACP. I knew right from when I trained you in the ACPTR that you would go far. I know you have some problems and are often sad, but please, listen to me – you’ll go very far if you continue at this rate. If you want me to be honest, you remind me of me. If you continue at this rate, you’ll be huge, and I’m sure about that. Stay in the ACP, at least for a while, and get your bearings, then do whatever your heart tells you – you have plenty of time ahead of you, and I wish I was that lucky. I will definitely still come on to talk to you, so don’t worry. I’ll miss being with you as much, and that’s a fact.

And last, but most importantly

The penguin that recruited me that one March day.

This is the end, ACP. Its hard not to cry as I write these words, but I can’t stay.

It’s been 694 days of defending freedom and preserving justice, and I’ve loved every minute of it.

As The Killers once said:

We hope you enjoyed your stay.
It’s good to have you with us, even if it’s just for the day.
We hope you enjoyed your stay.
Outside the sun is shining, it seem like heaven aint far away.
It’s good to have you with us, even if it’s just for the day.

Goodbye, my friends.

  11. This post shocked me, I was not expecting it for today. Many things to say on a single comment, so I guess I should save them up for a PC later?

Well, I should first mention! I remember the first time I met you, yes, it was a Friday, around Mimo’s site, morning. Axe, you and I were online. I saw your name at Mimo’s site as a moderator, so I asked you, are you the Sklooperis on Mimo’s site?
You never answered. I had to ask you for over an hour, ’till you decided to say yes.

And, correct me wrong, but it was you who denied the 3ic position when I offered it!

I think your leaving is due to being really busy, CPAC, ACP, ACPTR. It’s stressful, I know. But you could be an excellent leader. I’m not sure if you will be back someday, but if you do, make sure you pick ACP 😆

    Have an excellent life!

  12. OMG Skloop you are leaving!? Good luck in life and come back to visit!

1.) Are you, then, retiring from CPAC? (Since you said goodbye’s to like everybody and not just ACP people.)

2.) Ohh! That’s your history! I was wondering what it was ’cause I never met you until like the CPAC thingy. ..So you stayed in ACP the whole time? Wow, dedication right there.

  38. Bye Skloop. Also, I dont wanna look like a greedy little pig, but can I apply for the new 3ic position that opened after the retirement?
    1st guy to say this!
PS: When will we have the senate?

  39. To answer some questions…

This post only has the people that I was friends with that I met first with/through ACP or that were in ACP. If you weren’t really associated with ACP then that’s why you’re not in it.

I’m staying with CPA Central. That’s why people like you, Nathan, weren’t in this one. Those people will be in my overall retirement.

Grill, sorry, I had you in the Word doc of people I was gonna write a thanks to, I don’t know how I missed you. I’m adding you in now.

Slider, I will make an ACPTR Retirement post too. I had to get off the comp so I didn’t have time. I’ll write it today or tomorrow.

I love you all too, I’ll still visit, I can never really truly leave ACP. I just can’t feel the pressure of trying to remember to do the join page, lead, and be on chat whenever possible. CPAC is a hard job, Ias can vouch xD.

Also, thanks for the nice comments

When I joined, everyone looked up to you, and so did I. I still do. You did a awesome job in ACP, and its hard to see you go. I hope you stay in CPAC, after all, you might not even veiw this site or go on chat anymore, and CPAC might be the only place to see you. Goodbye, Skloop. *Slautes*

  69. Re post
Hey Skloop, I haven’t known you for to long, I just wanted to tell I will always remember you. My name is acp and im a corporal

  70. Oh yeah Skloop I wanted to say good bye 🙁 have a good life out of acp

  71. I thought you wouldn’t quit until you became ACP Leader Skloop? 😆

First, I want to say THANK YOU. Thank you for making me and the CPUN an influence to the CPAC. I don’t know if you’re leaving the CPAC too, but I think being in the CPAC and not being in the ACP at the same time would be lighter. I left all the army-leading business 2 years ago and continued to lead the CPUN. It’s lighter work. 😉

Though I may not be on that list, you’ll be in mine. We didn’t become as close, but I think you know who I am. 🙂

    Goodluck.
    -Dee

  77. Skloop, thank you for including me, its only my 2nd time being including a retirement post xD And yes, it would be great to have a good chat with you and talk about stuff.

Good luck with CPAC and remember…. Don’t take life for granted, you only got one 😉

    ~Monsterfully ACP General
