Mchappy: I hugely disagree! I feel as the statement of Living in the past is a horror should be in play here. I, myself, find getting 100+ on CP the most fun thing ever. I understand that some people get locked out and can’t witness the epicness but that just proves how big ACP is. I dislike people whom say “Well… if we do it like they did back than…” because they want to be like others; Be yourself! ACP can survive in a different way of winning/surviving and that way is just kicking some Army butt.
Noka- Good post and i miss the old days so much. I think we should stop trying getting 100+ for a while because if we do its an auto win for us which is really boring i joined ACP because i wanted to have fun now it seems we always want to win. Why cant we just have 30-40 soldiers like everyone else and just go out on cp on the weekends and have fun who cares if we don’t win the point is we have fun. We need to have fun 100+ is to much for ACP.
After many months now, I say it for all of club penguin armies that the past is gone and hard to bring back, maybe impossible. “Battles” we see now is what 3 years ago they called spam. Yet we call the battles 3 years ago boring. What makes a perfect battle then? Is it because most of club penguin warfare now has never been in a old-fashion battle type? I say yes.
Today, I was on Mammoth with some of my troops and I was leading an attack on the CPR and SWAT soldiers. I was not on chat, I was not even on the Acp site. I noticed that you are able to pay more attention to the actual battle then the orders you get on xat. It was one of the best battles I had in awhile and it was only 20 minutes and about 8 soldiers in each army. Only 2 charges and everyone stayed in the snowforts. The objective was 2 things: 1.) To last longer then your opponent 2.) Have the most ground in the room. Now in order to succeed you would have to keep moving around and the best spot to be is having the low ground. CPR failed to realize ACP moving foward that CPR had to fall back, but falling back into our allies the Ice Vikings. Surrounding the CPR, we were able to take their ground and spread them apart from each other. Soon the army callasped and ACP & IV were victorious.

Here is one of the most famous battles or all time and problably THE most famous battle in Acp history. Watch how there are no charges and its all about how much room you take up in the place.
Acp didn’t need 100+ soldiers on club penguin for this to be the best battle in Acp history. Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to keep having 100+ or at least 60+ on club penguin every battle Acp has.
Now here is a video of ACP vs Nachos in Feb. 2010 (this year). Might be awhile ago but things haven’t changed (maybe even worse now).
Exhibit B
Yeah, a few snowballs here and there but it was all charging. This was a great battle also even without the critizing, this was an awesome battle. This is why Club Penguin warfare can go 2 ways. One to old battles and one to the modern warfare. Both have pros and cons, but if you had to ask me, I would go with the older battles because believe it or not they were more fun and leaders used more strategy. Just ask people like Fort57, Shadow2446, Oagalthorp if you ever see them, they will tell you. Chat is a big thing now in armies. It is all about the “chat” but wasn’t this army for club penguin? The chat was really only made for getting orders and sometimes chatting with friends. Now it’s you stay on chat all day and go on club penguin bit by bit. To tell the truth as the leader, I don’t care if your active all the time on chat. I look at the battle posts and events when you comment.
I will try to schedule us a battle with NO charges and stuff with another army just to let some of our new soldiers get the feel of it. It will be either before or after christmas. Make sure you read the End of the Year Tournament battle!

I really do think that Exibit A was far better than B because, as you said yourself, it was more fun, had more strategy, and I think that it was much more organized, and people weren’t just running around the screen and yelling “ACP!!!!!!” or “NACHOS!!!!!” or whatever.
I was there in the battle with Bob. It was Epic!!!

Interesting! It’s hard for me to get on Mammoth seeing as I’m a Non-Member, that isn’t an excuse though.
I’ve been saying this for years, and it’s nice to see someone else post about it. At this past WWFF I noticed that there were almost no formations used, only spamming that lasted as long as 5 minutes. No regrouping, not even an organized charge, just chaotic, uncontrolled spamming. We need to get back to the tactics where both armies pick a side of the room and regroup to gain the size advantage, and use the occasional charge to break up the opponent. After the charge, you should regroup again. It provides you with both defensive organization and offensive charges. This constant spamming crap is what bots do. I would like to think we’re all a little bit smarter than bots.

FINNALY a smart person. The real differnce was back then battles lasted forever, so instead of having to cover your enemy they would slowly shrink. People need to stop relying on chat, and just use it for emergencies.

Well, I haven’t been back 3 years ago when warfare was more “rouge”(is that how I say it?), but I’d…I like both the same way. The problem is today, giving out orders is difficult on CP because of the strict filters, so we rely on chat. Yet, switching from chat to CP over and over again is annoying. So I like both exhibits equally. NIce nostalgia in this post.
I think the style before that is EVEN BETTER. I’m talking the first battle, Koolaidman’s igloo.

I love how so many people are voting for Exhibit A even though there’s an option for not experiencing it at all. It’s been nearly 3 years since wars were regularly like that, so I highly doubt that all 93 kids excluding myself and a few others actually know what they’re voting for.

EXIBIT A ALL THE WAY! you know i joined acp a couple of days ago and nothing really happened at the battle i went to WAR IS BORING THESE DAYS! i remember back in 2007-2008 when i was in the romans we use to have battles just like that! CLUSTERS OF SNOWBALLS FLYING EVRYWHERE CHARGING REGROUPING! ….. IT WAS FUN!!! and todays warfare isnt!

Good old times. I used to be more active back then. I used to attend A LOT of wars because it was fun. And you didn’t have 5 mods yelling you to charge all the time with different pictures commands.

Just quiet snowballing and stuff. We gained experience from this. Nowadays, our mods just sit there and give orders and some aren’t even on CP. We need to choose our mods carefully.
