I wrote this post all the way back in August about why we no longer have World Wars. It is almost more true now than it ever was. I can see no one ever listened to it because our last two World Wars failed in under a week. If you care about the fate of CP Armies, you will read this.
I am writing this post [at the time] in full knowledge that Akabob22, one of Club Penguin armies oldest soldiers, has retired. In his retirement post, he cited examples of just how much things have changed, unfortunately quite for the worse, and I would like to share some of them.
“We [Nachos] went from a great, fun-loving group to competition to see who can get the most people, arguing and having to make up reasons for war along the way.”
“Now, everywhere around us, there is hate. You wake up in the morning sometimes and you try to devise ways to beat an enemy you cannot defeat.”
I think this is the case in almost all armies now. There is no fun left. It’s all about hate. I hate you so I’m going to war, hey I hate you too I’ll help you destroy these guys. Let me say some evil things in a post to make the other side feel like crap. Maybe I’ll hack and delete their site and chat. Wars in Club Penguin we’re supposed to be for fun, but we’ve turned it into a tool for bullying other people. It’s like the classic elementary dodgeball game. “Let’s all gang up on that kid!” Even when there have been wars, they haven’t been fun, otherwise they would have lasted longer than a few days. I’ll use ACP as an example since we’re always the main target of “hate”. Doesn’t it seem like a problem that when one army declares war on another, everyone else goes to war too? A lot of wars used to be private matters, one army versus another so that you could settle some difference or prove you were better. You would say “no allies” because it always interfered with what you were trying to accomplish. It was your war, not theirs, so back off. I have been in ACP for a long time now, but no one has ever given me a good reason for hating ACP. Why are we hating anyone at all is the real question.
“It’s not even really fighting anymore, now that I realize it. Instead of two sides, there are now over 10 in one battle, all fighting for their own cause. Battles now turn out to have people scattered throughout a server, with no one really knowing what to do until a leader gave the order. There are joke bombs, bots, spamming “SEARCH _______!”, but it never ends.”
I was just talking to Luc about how much fun wars used to be when it was a group of your friends, fighting together throwing snowballs. Go to a battle now and tell me how many times someone throws a snowball. You could probably count on one hand. All the spamming turned wars into the biggest n00b fest. You can be winning and losing at the same time. There’s no organization, it’s just people running around looking like idiots saying random stuff. Not to be mean, but when Club Penguin was bought out by Disney, the age of the people using Club Penguin went down. This explains Aka’s point that people will be scattered around a server until someone with some amount of tactical skill can get them together in a group. This used to not be the case. The soldiers were older, and something about the environment of being on Club Penguin constantly gave them a great sense of tactics. I really have no idea if anyone apart from some leaders knows tactics themselves anymore. I can’t look at ACP or any other army and think “that guy/girl is a born leader”. And I don’t just mean THE leader, it could be a Brigadier General or a Colonel. Someone who comes on chat and says “let’s get a patrol together, or let’s do some recruiting”. Who is the next Oagalthorp, Commando717, or Pink Mafias? There’s nobody like that anymore as far as I can see. Go back 2 years ago and there were tons of soldiers like that. The ACP Hall of Fame is full of them. Goozgooz, Gorond, David Shawn, Nrop, Lt Giovanni, Orcacam, Penquin Jim, these guys were leaders. Oagal was a great leader, but he had some of the best Generals helping him. None of our Generals, or any other rank for that matter, can compare to what those guys used to do for ACP. Maybe that’s the problem.
Back to Aka:

Anyone else figure out yet that it’s not the lack of wars that makes it boring, it’s the way in which we go about war. We need to fix the system.
On to my main point, why alliances have ruined Club Penguin armies. Many people place the end of warfare and the beginning of the era of peace around when I joined ACP. Some say it was the idea of “Alliances” that ended this period. Building off of this new idea, Oagal, as great as he was, thought that ANTA, essentially an ultimate alliance of the major armies, was a good idea. The idea never was put into action during his time, but later in 2008, Shadow established it for the first time, once again tying all the major armies in a knot of alliances, and wars were rare. Eventually, ANTA fell, and “The Alliance” took its place. It was started by perhaps Commando or Aka as an “all major armies except ACP” group. So obviously these armies weren’t going to fight each other, they had a common enemy. This is where things started to fall apart in the modern CP warfare era. Thankfully, Person deleted the site (by accident he claims), however alliances formed in this group have still rarely been broken today, and even after ACP was allowed in, there was no real “alliance” between ACP and any of the others.
Because of this, ACP is at the center of almost every single war (I know, you must be jealous), mainly because we never made alliances with the other armies. Those original Alliance armies have to go to war with us because they are in an alliance with all the others, so war amongst them is not an option. Don’t get the wrong idea, I maintained good relations with all the major armies during my time as leader, but I didn’t tie myself down with alliances. The Nachos on the other hand were allies with just about everyone, and couldn’t get involved in anything (unless of course it was against ACP and alliances weren’t in the way). I one time asked Person to back us up against UMA and he said he couldn’t because “The day the Nachos betray UMA is the day Oagalthorp kills Chuck Norris”. Or something ridiculous like that. Jayson, one of the oldest soldiers left in CP armies, had the brilliant idea for the Nachos to go 2 whole weeks without alliances. Just go to war with whoever. Unfortunately it only lasted about 2 days.
Again recently, we were questioning why the Nachos had declared war on ACP for not having elections (I could have sworn the Nachos agreed a while back that too much government ruined armies, so why go to war asking for more government…) when there were plenty of other un-democratic armies, specifically IW, who hasn’t elected (or even had) a new leader other than Icey in its almost 2 year existance. The reason was very simple. “They are one of our best allies.” Anyone see the problem yet? IW and the Nachos are pretty evenly matched, yet we’ll never see a war between them because of alliances. We’ll never see the Nachos fight UMA, we’ll probably never see WW fight RPF. With all these alliances in place, it’s no wonder ACP is the only one anyone goes to war on. These alliances are blocking EVERYTHING. If you thought I was a bad leader because we didn’t go to war enough, think of what I had to face. If I so much as thought about invading another army’s server, 3 other armies already had posts up about war with ACP. A while back ACP went to war with RPF because they were trying to hack us. Seems like a good reason to go to war with someone, right? Because of alliances, not even something as bad as hacking could separate them, and all the other major armies rushed to help RPF because ACP was the only army they were allowed to fight. I want to see a major war that’s balanced again. I want a FW, WW, RPF, BP vs. UMA, IW, ST, DW war. I want to see IW and FW have a war to see who is really the third largest army. That’s what armies used to be like. There used to be 5+ armies on a server just fighting. Who cares about the politics, the motive, the reason for war. Just go out there and fight, for fun. Someone invade another army’s server for no reason and see what happens. But as long as we keep to alliances, that will never happen. Why are armies falling? No real wars. Why are there no real wars? Alliances. That’s your answer.
If you need a Sparknotes Version, for a World War to work, you need to balance the sides. The last two wars ended in under a week because one side overpowered the other and then it got boring. Why were they unbalanced? Alliances. The first and foremost being the Orange Alliance. Five large armies that enter any war on one side pretty much guarantees there will never be another World War unless pretty much everyone else is on the other side. If we ignore alliances and just sit down and split all the armies into teams, we can have a real World War that lasts, and with it we will bring a Golden Age to the rest of the armies that desperately need it.

We need a REAL world war. And acp leaders, please listen to what i have to say and please reply about it. I think the way to get a real world war for cp is to find a medium army conflict, then a big army will get into it(doesnt have to be acp) and will make it big so for the medium armies to match the large army they will form an alliance and then another large army will join and more large and medium armies will join to create a huge war that will last for a while!
What would be the point of a new war? To save CP armies? Technically that is our goal, but it’s not only whether or not you have a war or who you fight with or these alliances, it’s the people who are accustomed to CP and not ACP. Bring them into EVERY army and you got yourself a nice war.

I like Jaysons idea, “No alliances for 2 weeks.” And I think he stole that from me ’cause if you recall in the Cp Army Council I mentioned that you should only be able to have at least 2 allies and thats all. And another thing, World War will only happen if its NOT on purpose. If its on Purpose then it will just turn out to be another “fun” war.. or a WWFF so no. One person needs to have the guts to start a war. Thats what Person, Bat and I did. Now try to stop it.

Very true, Boomer. We need a WW that’s even and fair. One that’s about proving ourselves and not about crazy, ridiculous disputes. One with no allies to back ourselves up, but a battle in which we use all of our own strength and might. A battle that is supposed to unite the armies, not stir up harsh feelings.

Sir I did some thing so fun today! We will have some more members! I said Army base at my igloo. Then when people came, I explained what ACP was. And where to joni, and what we do! It started out with 4 people then we got up to 10-13 people! All going around the island getting people to join! I know your very busy, so you may never read this. But this is something fun and cool that gets people yo join and is fun! Thats all! ( PS don’t worry I told them i wasn’t leader Boomer was. ;))

You’ve nagged that things need to be better for who knows how long, let after every time you go back to doing nothing in an hours time and everyone that tries to topple you so that the men can be re-distributed and armies can grow and fight you propagandize and taunt.

Okey, I don’t like to have to comment responses back at people(Okey it’s a guilty plesure :P), but come. Your like, “Alliances bad! Rule website and supreme dictator good! ” CP Armies can’t just rush out and make rash decisions. If we’re going to elect someone it’s going to end up being the leader of the biggest army. (*cough* Boomer *cough*) We need a better solution and Boomer’s complaining about the problem isn’t keeping alliances from forming.
Shab: First of all your the one who was supporting Commando making an alliance against Acp (Which failed for a second time).
Boomer isn’t complaining, I’d say I’m complaining more than he is. Commandos or Kyle’s argument for the alliance vs Acp was that once the 1st place army changes, everyone else will. We have changed, whens the last time we really had an alliance that wasn’t with just one other army? The other major armies also have to change. Acp cannot do much more than preach but the problem is that it is being spoken to deaf ears (As Boomer said, the leaders brains have been forgotten somewhere or are just not being used).
Note: I have no idea where you got the supreme dictator thing from. Is this just a random subject you want to rant about? Because it has no relevance to this post.

I’ve got a few suggestions:
1. I appreciate hate wars are bad, but say an army invades a server. The army that formalled owned that server is mad. That war will stay on because it has a cause. Causes make people fight for a goal. The troops would keep fighting, but the leaders would say there was no point.
2. ACP vs All armies. I appeciate thats an alliance war, but it would be bloody fun.
3. Create a list of all armies. Then declare each and every single army nuetral. We have to kill off alliance-ships apart from in war.

First off, Very excelent post boomer. You put time and thought into it and i enjoyed reading it. You are so right. Wars used to be so much fun but now they kinda suck. We (not acp just armies in general) are hardly ever in the same room as the other side during battle. They come on chat and “spy” on us. Wheres the fun? Then u have the sore loosers and winners who spam the site and call u cheaters or say we suck. Like take the finals yesterday. Ya its the biggest battle but we already have like 3 death threats and hacking threats after how long? 12 hours now? I just want it to be fun again im sick of the fighting out side of the wars. Im sick of the boring wars i want the fun ones. where u pile a guy up in snowballs, hwere u can go to the other sides chat afterwords and say “hey good war” u no land not get banned on there chat cuz u won. i want it all back. And i agree disney ruined cp. But we need to bring back the fun.

Enough with the “lets go to war with ACP cause their name means anti-cp,” or “because they tried to take over our server,” or even “because with all these alliences we cant fight anyone else.” I think we should go to the Nacho, Ice Warrior, UMA, and Watex Warrior websites, and challenge them all to a every-army-for-themselves,
no-allience, world war all for fun and nothing else. A war with nothing at stake, and no bad trash talk. If you agree with me as much as I agree with you, boomer, then you should give this idea a shot.

I remember being unofficially involved with the ACP and actually seeing Oagalthorp in action. I thought it was an unorganized event and that everyone was just there because they were there at the time. Only now do I realize how amazing the ACP was back then; call it what you will, “The Glory Days”, “The Golden Days”, “The GREEN Days”.
I just hope that you’ve affected everyone else’s opinion as you have mine. I will live up to my full potential and work for this cause and help bring a REAL World War together.

The reason Oagal’s era was so awesome is because all he had was forums. no website, no government, no allies, no nation and no complicated stuff. just good ol snow ball fights. Thats how ACP started, Right?

I created a new army called the Red Knights just to help the ACP in times of war. Maybe I should keep them out of large wars and have us fight for ourselves, and for fun.

that was the best post ever… i havnt been here for long and i am only just getting the hang of it but i often drop out of wars because they are boring and i get tired theres no real action. i totaly agree ged rid of Alliances bring back the old Stuff! (ven though i wasnt there to experience it) and with the Nachos post on invading our servers, they have the same idea! (i think) Yes sometimes its good to team up to fight against others but no alliances! Its the essence of war!

Some people say the only reason I retired is because I keep saying I hve been underestimated and al that, well, thats about a quarter of the reason, the rest of it has to do with it being very boring with no wars, and al the young new soldiers are like “but what about all the practice battles and the WWFF and the Christmas Tourny? but really, thse arent wars, those are planned to try and be a war, but a real war is two armies fighting to show who is better, or who deserves the server.

Your are very true Boomer. When I joined HSA they were kind souls, now they r a cesspool of evil! Not all armies r like that and there are kind people in HSA. There r 3 leaders there, and only 1 is kind under my eyes. I intend to end and I already trying.

hm yeah. still not fixed i see. didn’t expect it to be. oh well. i still think it’s a good idea to do the exact same things that we did in the old days. like, daily meetings, for instance. we used to have em at like 4 o clock at the dojo like every day.
all i know is that during WWIII, battles were happening constantly. and only the planned battles mattered. maybe you can blame the fact that we were all in mammoth. all of the armies were always there. or maaaaybe it’s the fact that the chat box was just used mostly as a battle strategy, so we could communicate in (semi) secrecy. we met on club penguin. not chat. we didn’t go on chat and say, “hey, let’s go on club penguin!” nope. people went on cp and screamed “ACP” till they could find other soldiers.
just think about it.
I want to relive my old days ! If we wanna have fun we should relive those days. WORLD WAR IS NEEDED !

I seriously agree with you Boomer. All this Alliance crap has gotten into us and now all armies are ruined. I say we just forget alliances and freakin attack IW, RPF, all these major IDIOTS who think Alliances and “peace” is a good idea. Fact is, when peace is around, what is the real point in having cp armies. All armies should have 1 goal and 1 goal only: to rule all of club penguin. ACP or Nachos or maybe perhaps even IW have the abilities to take over the club penguin world. Small armies need to realize this and begin working towards the task at hand as well. ACP and everyone especially NEEDS a huge war, so boomer, please allow us to split up in whatever way and attack all that is left of CP armies. Then once we rule all, we can establish a governmental system that will help with rule and our nation will have the ultimate power.

Heck! we need a fun war not a hate full one…I remember an old ACP PB with Nachos when person was leader… We welcome each Nacho as they came to the PB we where all buds…But now it seems its a hate pool only working for power not fun and friends…This may be Rkjcbo for the last time…I say RIP old friends…

I am all for CP armies but let’s face CP armies if going black how many really Loyal old soldiers are still left in armies almost none. CP armies need a miracle to bring it back. Maybe we might just get one.
