You ought to know. . .

I haven’t posted on this site for quite some time. However, I find it to be my duty to inform people of some things, and perhaps give some advice, supposing you want it.

I’ve been on chat lately, not regularly, but at least a few times a day, and I’m seeing ACP getting humiliated. ACP, is unquestionably the largest army in all of CP armies. Its well known. Size matters. However, it is an open secret that size isn’t always the thing winning wars. Yes, if you outnumber the enemy 5-1, you do have some advantage. I acknowledge that. Yet, the enemy that we are fighting is perhaps 2/3 of our size? Maybe we can outnumber them at 50% of the battles, but that isn’t enough. Having more soldiers gives us a strategic  advantage, but only if its used.  You can have an infinite number of arrows, yet if you’ve no knowledge of archery, how do you expect to defeat an enemy, who may have a limited amount of arrows, yet knows how to use them? This, is the problem ACP is facing.

ACP has overcome all adversity that has crossed our path.  We’ve fought our way through. We made it through The Battle for Mammoth, The UMA vs. ACP war, and most recently, The Great Confusion. We didn’t win all of our battles, but we pushed through. You want to know why we made it through? In TGC, all of ACP banded together. Former leaders, current leaders, old soldiers, veterans, new soldiers. We worked together. We, in general, followed the Leader’s “lead”.  However, this time, we have no unity. Maybe on the surface we do, but once you look closer, you find a dismembered body. We, the ACP, are undoubtedly at the acme of our power. We’ve got countless soldiers,a well run site, strong, capable leaders. However, we don’t know how to work together.  When fighting a battle, the moderators (Maj. General-up), instead of following whoever is leading, argue about who’s in charge.  If a Major General sees the battle, gets troops there, and begins leading, please, (if you’re above or equivilant to our anonymous Major General), don’t try to take charge. This confuses the general population, and merely leads to disray.  A common process for ripping something apart, such as an organization is: Disarray, Demoralization, Destruction.  The first two can go in any order, either way, they lead to unquestionable destruction.

What I do see on chat, in the instances I am logged on, are the symptoms of this formula. No, I’m not obsessive about armies  anymore, (and glad of it), nor do I take this as more than a simple game. No, what I see, are Senior Officers (Major General up) fighting for control, and in the instances when this isn’t happening, soldiers shouting orders in caps, confusing other soldiers, not listening, and in general, being ineffective. ACP, in order to win this tiresome war must work as a well oiled machine. Senior Officers should put the betterment of ACP ahead of their own ambitions. Yes, I understand that everyone is constantly striving to reach a higher rank, more prestige, and perhaps the highest office itself. However, to be noticed, I find that if you focus on the moment, and perform well, and not think just about a promotion, you distinguish yourself more, in both the eyes of your superiors and comrades, but also in the eyes of your subordinates.

For lower ranked soldiers, I understand you are fighting constantly to get a promotion. Many of you are new, and seek respect; in all ways an forms, such as being excepted from the “n00b” title.  You believe your suggestions to be good, and while I’m sure most of them are great ones, working together as a team, and following the battle Leader’s ‘lead’ will help you achieve your goals far more quickly than just shouting out suggestions, being a barrier to the sucess of the mission, and hampering ACP. I respect that you want to help, but if you are new, it helps to watch, and follow until you are comfortable with ACP.  The senior officers of ACP have been a part of ACP for many months, perhaps years, and have seen more battles. They, being veterans, have more experience, and are better suited to lead. I ask you give them your full support and obedience, and I assure you, if this particular piece of advice is followed, I’m sure you, yourself will be among the moderators sooner than later. If you think this to be propaganda, I know a particular general, who I will call “W.”. “W” joined perhaps in Janruary? He started as a corporal, a rank that many of you consider to be lame, and one that hardly gets its fair amount of recognition.  This is not the case.  Boomer and I, and the other leaders all noticed “W”‘s high attendance and loyalty. We found him to be a sensible, and dedicated soldier. He quickly rose to Major in a month, the next to Colonel, and so on. . . This continued, and this “W”, found himself to be a Major General in a mere few months of his arrival.  In the sad case you do not understand the point of my retelling of this story, I will reiterate it for you. The leaders will notice you, if you do your duty, and serve with distingtion.

Finally, I ask the higher ranking officers and I request the leaders to be patient with newer people. The leaders are doing a wonderful job of it so far, however the same is not the case for the higher ranking, officers. I understand that they are naive, and more often than not, extremely annoying. However, we all were at that stage at one time, and I ask that you be patient, and try to give them a shot before being biased. If they over use caps , for example, ask them to stop, and then proceed to kick, and ban. Explain to them why not to use caps. I do believe that this way is more succesful in getting disorderly conduct to stop.

In summary:
1) Higher ranking officers, work together. Don’t fight over who is leading the battle.

2) Also for HRO’s, try to be patient, and somewhat polite to the newbs.

3) For the lower rankers, respect the leaders of the battle. Avoid using caps, and please don’t shout out suggestions. Follow orders, and in return, get rewarded.

4) Respect your leaders. They work very hard to maintain this army, and I, once being one myself understand. If they don’t respond to your pc’s, be patient. Please, excercise your right to free speech, but avoid being too critical of the leaders when you don’t know all the facts.

  46. Amen to that.

I have experienced things like this recently…..

    Sheepman
    ACP Colonel

  47. I hate to say this, but this is the same way ACP nearly fell the first time. ACP is falling again, Boomer u better do something, because ACP is in trouble, we r in trouble, and we dont have a clear leader in this. I cant do much because I cant get on chat anymore, but I can still comment. I mean all we worked for is like goind down the drain. Winning the Christmas Tournament, all those new recruits, it all means nothing. Those things all mean nothing because we r about to lose a war we should win. We have like 50 freaking new recruits, and still we r losing to the Nachos and some army I have never even heard of, RFW. Wat r we doing as a army, wat does that say about us as soldiers. We r suppose to be the biggest army in CP and we cant beat the Nachos. Guys we need to step it up, big time. If ACP falls, I dont think ACP is gonna recover this time. Boomer please get on. Saint, Aber, and Shab cant lead battles alone. Soldiers we need to step it up, if someone tells u where to go, then go there. Now lets defeat Nachos and RFW, and hold our place as the biggest army in Club Penguin,

  48. weird how we have a war after many soldiers retire awkward

  49. Exactly. This is a great speech, Ankita, and it needed to be said.

  50. Amen Ankita….

  51. Bugsbruno, when I was new, she was the Co-Leader. She’s still on the site, but post rarely.

  52. aww man i have swine flu

  53. I’d love to edit the post. But I can’t for some reason 😐 *stares arrogantly at Boomer*

Anywho, in the old days it didn’t matter who was leading. The leader gave everyone a chance to lead. Back then, we weren’t all power hungry. Oagalthorp gave all the mods chances to lead some kind of operation during battles. I have to admit when I became a General after six months in ACP, I was still a noob. Noobs could get a far way back then XP. Being a noob isn’t bad though. Why? Because you don’t take things for granted like the so called “professionals”. And of course, back then we weren’t the best army in CP. And we didn’t care about it that much. It was never ACP’s goal to make this organization the biggest in Club Penguin. It was a simple goal: To have fun. We’ve depleted that goal completely.

“how did you post this if your not even in the army??? 😕 ”

Ankita, also known as Jedimaster17 has been a highly loyal, and also respected co-leader under boomer, and she was also the president before Aber. She retired earlier this year (like myself) and is still a user on the ACP site (unlike me). Does that answer your question?

  55. Now I see it. I always worked for the promo. Now I work for our army’s health. Frostbeetle hope u dont die and DONT GET NEAR ME!

  56. its not contagues thourgh computer

  57. I agree. Our size is nothing if we do not get every soldier following commands. I find it a miracle that ACP is still alive because there is an old saying that always says “The bigger they are, the harder they fall”. Could that not be us leading ourselves to defeat?

  58. LOL I gotta go to school now…

  59. nice!

  60. Oh great. Now everyone is overreacting.

  61. yea

  62. Our size has SOMETHING to do with our recent falling. Maybe if we have 1500+ soldiers maybe 700 are active. We need more active or else the Nachos will be the Biggest army.
    ~Houndy

  63. epwequipedpenguinworriors.wordpress.com i spelled a few things wrong sorry!!

  64. rap, thx i understand now!!

  65. Rapidy is my rolemodel

  66. im sic and most likely got to go to bed early so i cant make da war (i think)

  67. Seriously we need to do something, even though I haven’t been in armies that long I have picked up great knowledge such as posts like this. I completely agree with everything that was said in this post. Our size would be nothing if nobody followed commands. I hope this post changed the ways of some lower ranked soldiers who want to lead. only about 700 of our 1500 soldiers are active we need to step up to the plate and WIN. Fight until theres nothing left ACP. Fight Fight and Fight if everyone sides with Nachos then we get mad, don’t. We cannot have an army that gets mad over little things. I think that has something to do with our recent falling. Boomer get online more because a lot of people are trying to lead and were getting mixed up, If you get online during a war people know to listen to you not anybody else. If you can’t make it PLEASE assign and post the person you WANT to lead so we don’t get mixed up (like jedi said)

  68. Dear Boomer (or whoever reads this)

I My penguin name is ‘Werdna1 2 3’, I am 437 days old and I arrived at the last war. I’ve been to a lot of wars when I was on Watex’s Warriors, but most of them got a little boring after a while. This war against the nachos was much more fun because:

    A. There were a lot more people.
    B. The troups worked well.
    C. Hardly anyone gave up.

So anyway that is why my number 1 war team is ‘The Official Army of Club Penguin. I wrote this comment to tell you that no matter what stage your at this team will always work together and win!

  69. GO ANK! WOOT! =D

  70. ZOMG ITS RAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! rappeh-bear come back we miss yew 😥 I thought yew were gone for good. 🙁

  71. You can have an infinite number of arrows, yet if you’ve no knowledge of archery, how do you expect to defeat an enemy? You simply run screaming at the enemy with an arrow in your hand while dodging their arrows/attacks. JK
