Yes, Barack Obama- President Elect defeated Senator John McCain of Arizona with 335 electoral votes to 162. This is sad for many republicans and Conservatives. Personally, I think Obama is naieve, but I belive perhaps he can meet the huge expectations he’s set for himelf. I hope he picks Hilliary Clinton for something in his office, and same with John McCain to help bring the country back together. It is history! Martin Luther King, must be looking down on us from heaven, weeping with joy, about this event that shows America can move past racism, and a new direction. I didn’t dislike McCain, actually I supported him, but now it is the time to unite. Obama, good luck. Please, keep your promises, and prove the old stereotypes wrong! You truly can become whatever you dream to be in America.

I disagree. Voting for someone because he’s black is just as racist as voting against him because he’s black. I wish people just ignored the race factor, and looked at Obama as a presidential candidate, not as a race. I mean, we’re all human beings. People should not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. Plus Obama rigged the Democratic primary. *Sigh* Because the economy’s going bad, we’re a third-world Banana Republic without Bananas.

Personally, I think Obama was a good choice. But not everyone does. If you supported McCain, then you shouldn’t be whining about losing. Personally, I think Obama was a bad choice. Higher taxes, infanticide, same-sex marriage, abortion, socialism, and the fact he’s somewhat inexperienced. But Zehroy is right, Republicans shouldn’t be sore losers, (the only complaint you can make is you think he will make bad changes) and Democrats shouldn’t be sore winners. (It only makes things worse. The only thing you brag about is you think he will make good changes.)
I personally don’t support Obama, but to further political careers, both in real life, and CP you must often at times, grit your teeth and go on.
Obama is an inexperienced, idealistic, liberal. He doesnt deserve being the President, unlike McCain, a prisoner of war, and a man who’s served his country for years. Obama has perhaps advanced equality in America, but other then that.. I belive that in any case, Obama will be an incompetent leader, and not live up to is extravagent promises.
