There was once a great warrior. He fought for a powerful king for many, many years long ago. Then one day, disaster struck. The kingdom he called home was destroyed by its neighbors. The soldier wandered the desert for years, fighting as a mercenary for other kingdoms. At last he could no longer take it. He moved to the most powerful kingdom in the land. He stayed there for many moons. When this new home’s king went away into hiding, his successor quickly befriended the warrior. Upon the end of the second king’s reign, the warrior was to inherit the kingdom and all its forces. However, the first king came out of hiding and snatched up the crown, giving it to a noble who had served him longer. The warrior became a high-ranking noble and simply waited after it was clear he could not resist the original king. The new king, however, was disliked and did little for the kingdom. The nobles all came together and banished him from the land. He was replaced with the king of another land who grew weary of his people. The warrior became very busy with personal affairs during the reign of the foreign king. Upon the end of the foreign king’s reign, one of his elder nobles took the crown and stripped the warrior of his powers. Kings and queens came and passed, but the warrior remained in a pool of deep depression at his situation. It was not until a young king took power that he had another chance. The king gave the warrior back his status as a noble and made him feel wanted again. Soon, the warrior’s best friend became the ruler of all the land. However, a past king rose up for selfish and power-hungry reasons and banished the warrior’s friend. The warrior protested, but his cries fell on deaf ears. This king, however, grew old and returned power to the young king who gave the warrior another chance. Along with his queen, the young king ruled prosperously until the old retiring king pressured him to leave. The warrior was now left with the kingdom again. Past kings, however, tried to tell the warrior-king what to do, to the point where he snapped and issued a decree to all the peoples of his vast kingdom about it. Through treachery and lying, the elder noble who first demoted the warrior came back and took over, but this time left the warrior with his noble status. When the elder king took a trip out of the land, the warrior seized the opportunity and took the kingdom back. However, taking pity on the elder upon his return, the warrior returned the kingdom on the promise of a later reign. However, he had been betrayed by the wicked elder. He was stripped of his power and his belongings and became a peasant. The warrior, wishing not to leave in disgrace, went away with as much dignity as possible to live in a new kingdom with the young king who had given him another chance. He would live the rest of his days here in bliss.
The above quote is a little parable that I formulated for this situation. I’m sure you can see the symbolism. Now for the result of this situation…
When in the Course of human events it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.
This has been a long time coming. I’ve been here for two and a half years. In the beginning, it was so much fun. I went to the battles. I threw snowballs. I didn’t worry about tactics. I didn’t even worry about who was leader because I never questioned that it was Oagalthorp. Everything was just so stable. ACP is not the same anymore. It has become mutated and mutilated. Now it’s just a power struggle. Every day, I wonder what will happen to my career. It scares me that I even have to say career. This has grown too much. It has consumed my life. It has depressed me to the point of mental breakdowns in real life. I have been driven insane. As such, I must leave to simpler times.I, Dr Nono Jr, hereby indefinitely resign from the Army of Club Penguin. This is not a retirement, nor is it a rebellion. It’s just lost its spark. This army’s doom may be afoot, but I will continue to occasionally fight in our important battles and go down with the ship since I’ve always wanted to be the captain. The only evidence that shall remain is my name on the Legends page. This army is, always has been, and always will be led by a small group of people; we can’t pretend it’s not. They’ve made this army a business, this brotherhood an industry. For God’s sake, it’s like running a real nation. Armies were never intended to be this way. An army is not as good as the leaders that propel it; no, far from it. An army is only as good as the soldiers on the front lines. Most of the time, when a decent leader gets in, they’re immediately thrown out on some grounds. So, let this post be a warning to everyone who’s an aspiring leader. Let it be a warning that you will have two choices: you will either submit and become a puppet or you will face a constant power struggle. My advice: NEVER PARTICIPATE IN A POWER STRUGGLE. Do not become a powerslave. I’ve wanted to make an impact, but I’ve never been given the opportunity. Should ACP need me one day, that’s not enough. They’ve needed me for a long time. Should ACP WANT AND ACCEPT ME and NOT BE AFRAID TO TAKE ME IN, then I shall some day return to the ranks. However, I will no longer conform. I am a free man, and I strongly encourage you all to follow. I am not an ACP Colonel. I am not an ACP Second-in-Command. I am a leader, but not an ACP leader nor a leader of any army. I am a leader of myself and a leader of a movement for justice. If I can make any difference, I will be satisfied with the time I spent here. This post is not a retirement, like I’ve said before. However, it marks the end of my ACP career; it marks the beginning of my return to THE TRUE ARMY EXPERIENCE. I have a bunch of people to thank for my career, but I can’t write everyone down. Here’s what I can write for now:
Fort – You started this all. I thank you for all the opportunities, however ephemeral, that you opened. Had you not put your trust in me, I never would have had a chance at any leadership and probably never would have had the courage to stand up to the establishment just like you did. Thanks, man. You’re number one on my list.
Dry – Although I started out hating you, you came to be the second person to recognize my talents. You are probably my best friend in armies right now. You’re always there for me. I know that you’ve opened your eyes and stood up to the man, and I applaud your efforts. You are truly the single greatest leader the ACP has ever known.
Saint – An acquaintance, then an enemy, then a friend… What can I say? In the beginning, I barely knew you except for what Noka said. In the middle, I always complained about you. But then there was the end… next to my first days, my time as your Co-Leader was the second-most fun time of my career. I was sheltered from the power struggle and had fun sampling the leadership. I learned and grew so much under you. I feel so sorry for throwing you under the bus in the end, and I hope and pray that we can patch that up and be good friends. I want to help you with the Gators.
Meat – A fellow fallen leader. You could not conform. You just expressed that in different ways. I still respect you and wish you the best. You were always my friend and stuck with you through thick and thin, and I tried to do the same with you.
Stev – I didn’t get along with you in the beginning, but in the end, I ended up being great friends with you, my fellow non-conformist. It seems that the powers that be have kicked you out as well. I want you to come with me and fight for the spirit instead of the power, because I know that’s what you’re really about.
Ganon – I always kind of regarded you as just Meat’s friend, but I got to know you recently. You’re a great guy with some sense.
Seth – I’m not really disappointed in you, regardless of what I’ve said under stress. I think you mean well. I think you’re someone who’s not afraid to speak their mind. I think you need to do whatever you feel is right, but don’t let yourself become a slave to the establishment.
Capncook – Your career is so parallel to mine that it’s absolutely terrifying. I saw potential in you because you’ve been so much like me. However, that should have set off alarms in my head to begin with. Cap, you are like me; if you come to the point in your career where you have a power struggle, give it up. The other side will always prevail. Do not let what has happened to my fun happen to yours.
Tom Yellow – I doubt you’re reading this, but you’re just a really cool person. You were a great leader and, should the course of events taken place more pleasantly, could’ve led the ACP. You could always make me smile and it delights me to go back and talk to you occasionally. You are truly an inspiration.
Kg – I’m not really sure how you helped me, but just like Tom Yellow, you’re just a great person. You’re always fun to talk with, always positive. Good luck in whatever it is you’re pursuing, but please don’t get into politics or I may have to speak out against you!
Hatt – You didn’t really help, to be honest, but you were always there to talk to. You’re one of the few people I could really relate to and just relax and talk about music. It’s great to see that you just went through the whole rank thing for longer than I did and you didn’t even complain.
Shadow – You were always motivating me, even from across the barriers of different armies. You’re very well liked everywhere and I admire and respect you.
Amit – You’ve been my go-to man for CPA Central and a great friend in general. You always have that site as something to do, so keep busy and don’t let yourself go down any bad trails.
Draggy – You’re a really talented and nice person. You’re an excellent artist and we had some hilarious times late at night with Hatt on his chat. Never forget how amazing you are, no matter what other people tell you.
Fox – You thought I was great sometimes. You hated me other times. You’ve been lost in a sea of self-conflict. You’re caught between the two factions that tear apart armies. I’ve never tried to hurt you or lie to you, regardless of what it may seem. Don’t let yourself be brainwashed and don’t let yourself fall for any hackers, kid.
There are many more, and you know who you are. I just don’t have the time to write everyone’s name down without ending up with little two-word descriptions. For the next part of this lengthy post, I would like to move on to my progressive retirement journal. I only ended up with two entries in it. It was supposed to be a long journal that I would put in my retirement post; however, retirement is too far away from me. I want to put it in this post. It shows how I felt at two points in my career.
July 11, 2009: How may I describe my career in the ACP at this point? My description cannot be an optimistic one. Since I was proclaimed leader about 11 months ago, things have being going downhill. I’ve been demoted 5 ranks since then, and nothing I do seems to better this situation. I feel underappreciated and cheated. I feel hated.
August 22, 2009: This entry will be much happier! I haven’t updated this post in a while, so a lot has changed. After Saint’s retirement, Dry promoted me to General and made me Vice President. Just a few weeks later, I was chosen to be 3ic! I feel very happy where I am at the moment. Oagal’s recent return, however, has me fearing for my situation. But I don’t think he’ll really be able to do anything. I hope that my updates will only get better!
My career got better since that entry. It got better and then got worse. It got better again and then worse again. That’s why I can no longer ride on this wild roller coaster. My chains have been lifted! I feel like a free man for the first time in a long, long time. I want the next generation to be one that can think for themselves. ACP can rise and fall officially, but as long as those that fight for the spirit of the army are still here, we will never die. Rock on!

Nono I always liked your ways, throughout your time in Acp. One thing is you are always leader of Acp in a bad time when the army is going crazy, yet you know how to settle things and calm your soldiers.
